    Is there any way to remove a Drawer Upgrade without breaking it? Someone earlier mentioned the Upgrade Management UI or the Config. I have searched on how to turn on the UI and I looked through the config and couldn't find anything. Can anyone help me? I would like to remove some upgrades so I can replace them with void upgrades as my drawers are going to get too full on my next quarry run.

    I am in the latest version of Ars Magica 2. I am using the FTB Magic World pack. I also added Morph and Optifine in there. I had to add Open Blocks as well to disable the Hecate's because of the spawning bug.

    I just started trying to make gateways however I have run into a problem with Keystones. I made my first keystone and tried to open its UI and nothing. I shift + right click and nothing happens. I downloaded the API and threw it into the mod folder and that didn't work. I read the patch notes and it said that this was fixed. I completely deleted Ars Magica 2 from FTB and manually installed it back myself from this websites download. Still didn't fix it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. At this moment I can only have very limited use of Gateways without the keystone UI working.

    First, thank you very much for this Mod.

    I have found a bug with the Magic Map. I did a search of this entire thread and did not find anyone with my exact problem or a fix to it.

    I do use optifine but I removed it and the bug was still present.

    At the beginning of my world the Magic Map was working fine. However, I had corruption and had to do a recovery of my entire world by copying level.dat of a new world into my save. I don't know if this caused this or not. Normal overworld maps are not doing this only the magic map for Twilight Forest.

    After that every time I create a new magic map the only part of the map that is using real time data is the loaded area around me that corresponds to the map. If I move them some other map data replaces the picture on the map.

    I deleted the magic map files from my save folder and it still happens. I don't know where the false map data is coming from since I keep deleting old maps and retrying other things.

    I was using the FTB Direwolf 20 pack. I tried updating its Twilight Forest to the most current version you have in this thread. That did not fix it either.

    Any information would be welcome.

    I have started using this to back up my FTB files. I changed the destination files of the world destination and it found my FTB world quite easily.

    I have been able to manually create and restore backups but the auto backup continually crashes the utility.

    I don't see how the auto utility is doing anything different when it backs up. I haven't touched the prefix and suffix. I'm going to start fiddling with it and see if I can get it to work. I will reply back if I find anything.

    If you have any suggestions as to what is going wrong it would be much appreciated.

    The FTB is running at 1.6.4 version of minecraft on Windows 7. I'm running net framework 4.51. I have placed the minecraft backup utility in a different drive from where minecraft is running. As far as I know everything else is up to date that you state in your forum.


    UPDATE:

    Used your Beta build and that fixed it. Like the GUI changes, very nice.

    (1) Research won't be a random anymore. You will select the research you wish to pursue in the thaumonomicon and get research notes which you will take to the table.

    (2) "Secondary researches" won't require the minigame - when you select them in the thaumonomicon you will just pay a certain amount of RP to unlock it.
    For example - you go into the thaumonomicon and see that you can now research Transmutation in the Alchemy category. You select it, get the research notes and fiddle around in the table as you usually would. You unlock it allowing you to transmute metals into iron. You now go take a look in your thaumonomicon and see all the various other transmutation researches are now available for selection, however these are secondary researches - since they use the same basic principles as iron transmutation you don't need to reinvent the wheel. When you select them you simply unlock them if you have enough RP to do so.

    (3) Some research will only be unlocked by scanning or doing certain things. For example, the Ethereal bloom won't be researchable till you have scanned something tainted. This is sort of intended to replace the current lost research, which is a bit lame in my opinion.

    Making stuff harder
    (1) Since you will be doing the minigame a lot less it will become a bit harder. I have a new version if it in mind that will up the difficulty curve a bit, while at the same time making unsolvable research impossible.

    (2) Scanning stuff will only return primal aspects, meaning you will have to spend more time combining them in the research table. The first time you scan something with a new compound aspect you will still get a small amount of that type of RP, but otherwise you will just get the primals that its aspects eventually break down to.



    I've read through many of these posts as I am new to Thaumcraft 4 (enjoyed Thaumcraft 3, jumping back into FTB right now). I don't think the minigame is the problem. I think it's the fact that research points are such a limited resource.

    It is possible for new people to run out completely and have no way to resupply. This happened to me the first time I tried Thaumcraft 4. In order for me to progress I did have to look up the aspects of researches. There was no way for me to progress without knowing them. If I tried to discover the aspects myself I would always run out of research points. I tried again on another world and was able to get further the next time. I ran into an impossible research and didn't realize it was impossible until I had learned about them in this forum. Now I have spent most of my research points on it and I must once again restart a world in order to play Thaumcraft 4.

    I have scanned everything possible. I have scanned all nodes I can find in an few hour radius of my base. There are no other research points to get. I hope the research point system itself is looked at and reconsidered. Thank you for all your hard work and such a beautiful mod.

    About Myself - Got on the Minecraft bandwagan a few months ago. I tried out the demo on the xbox360 to see what the fuss was about. Got totally hooked and bought the PC version as well. I have been playing ever since. Also started watching the Lets Play, tutorial, adventure youtubers. I love watching the mindcrack peeps.

    Why do I want to join? - I've only been playing single player and have watched how fun it looks on multiplayer. This is my first try on getting into a survival community. I'd prefer a vanilla community very much like the mindcrack server.

    Have I ever been banned? - As I said only played single player so far so not that I know of. If I have then I'm seriously talented.

    No mindcraft videos on my channel. I've only used it as a Bioware fan for their game trailers. I don't know if I'd ever get into creating LPs. I've had some trouble trying to Fraps my mindcraft worlds to be honest. I tried to create a tour of my single player worlds and Fraps keeps going buggo.
