posted a message on The best mods and mod packs

Blood N Bones is by far my favorite modpack ever! It is found on the FTB Launcher (I think) and it is probably the hardest hardcore modpack you will ever play.

    My favorite mods:

    Applied Energistics 2

    Tinker's Construct

    Witchery

    Metallurgy

    Minefactory Reloaded

posted a message on Help with modpack?

it says this in the crash report:

An unknown AE2 API is installed (rv3 from appliedenergistics2-rv3-beta-6.jar).
Ender IO was build against API version rv2 and may or may not work with a newer version.

It tells you that EnderIO does not support a newer version of the AE2 API. I would try downgrading it.

Just create a new minecraft instance, and set the game directory to the (.zip?) mod pack folder. It doesn't matter where you out the mod pack folder.

posted a message on How do you (legally) decrease oregen in a modpack?

So, I always thought that ores are always extremely abundant, especially if you add mods like Metallurgy.

Anyway, in my modpack, i want to purposely decrease oregen by around 50%. How can I even do that?

Also, a lot of mod authors say that you can't edit and redistribute the mod. So does that mean that I cant do it?

[EDIT]: my mods that add ores are:

    -Metallurgy

    -Tinker's Construct

I'll include more mods when i add them.

posted a message on How do i load modpacks with Forge?

Well, all the mods I got were from the Technic Launcher. All of them have a 'mods' folder (just like your regular modded minecraft) that contains all the .jar files for the mods. I would try to contact the modpack authors, and ask them how to install the modpack.

Meanwhile, there are tons of modpacks in this Mod Pack section of Minecraft Forum. Go check around, see if one interests you.

A lot of the modpacks probably require launchers like Technic, FTB, and others. I would recommend you to get Technic, because it's really easy to use, and you cant find tons of modpacks and it's easy to install play them.

If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

posted a message on How do i load modpacks with Forge?

Well, there are no mods, so you can't expect it to work. I've never heard if overrides, manifest.json, or modlist.html. All the mod packs that I've gotten contained a mods, config, saves, and most of the files from your regular modded forge instance.

It doesn't seem like a mod pack I've seen before.

what is the mod pack you're using? Let me try it out.

You seem to be doing everything right. Its a dumb question, but are there mods in the 'mods' folder in the .zip file?

Try putting it on your desktop. That way, you won't confuse the modpack with anything else. The new game directory address should be: C:\Users\[your name]\Desktop\modpack. Put the modpack in it. Then do the same things. It worked for me..

A modpack doesnt work the way a mod works. It's not a mod, its more of a new Minecraft instance. I'd take it out of your mods folder, then put it in .Roaming or .minecraft, or even your desktop.

    - Make sure you have the proper Forge version for your modpack. (If your modpack is 1.7.10, then you should have the 1.7.10 for Forge.)

    - Open the minecraft launcher

    - add a new instance, select the version (which should be the forge version, not the minecraft version), etc.

    - change the game directory to the address of your .zip file. (if you put the .zip folder on your desktop, it should be something a long the lines of this: C:\[your name]\[your name]\Desktop\[.zip folder name])

    - press save, and play

A great mod for NPC's is Minecraft comes Alive. It adds human(player)-like npc that can talk, trade, and do lots of things with you. You can try Roguelike dungeons (adds various dungeon/buildings with loot inside) for the adventure part.

How complicated do you want the tools and weapons section to be? If you want it to be elaborate, try Tinker's Construct, it changes the way you make tools. There is also a smeltery, where youy process, smelt, and make tools out of metal.

Finally, Thaumcraft, magical crops, and (maybe) Blood Magic are good choices for magic.

posted a message on Why can't my MFR machines accept RF Power?

If i'm right, Minefactory Reloaded doesnt come with any power sources, but it can use MJ, EU, or RF.

So, i got the TE series (thermal foundation, dynamics, and expansion), which contained RF.

I went to my creative world to test it out, and i put planter, with an energy cell right next to it. Then, i used the crescent hammer to rotate it. According to my logic, it should've worked, but the energy bar in the planter was empty.

Did i do something wrong, or is MFR just not compatible with RF?
