not to mention we're all waiting on MCP to update, anyway, so... go bug them, if you want this to update quicker XD

And not to mention it's a good bet we'll be seeing 1.6.5-6-7-8 etc.

Notch is off to E3 so maybe that'll slow down updates enough to satisfy mod devs that there will be enough of a break between updates to reduce their workload to something sensible instead of having to update their mod several times in a week.

Man, I hope you'll be able to integrate netherworlds from bukkit mods. I'd hate to lose all the work already done.

A cursory search didn't come up with anything current - are there any mods out there that add at least some very quiet cart-over-track audio for when you're traveling by minecart? The lack of audio on long cart trips is... bizarre... in any case it rips you out of the experience and that's not a good thing.

    Anyone?

    TIA

This (1.5_01) will probably be the last version the minimap is needed for, since notch has declared he will add craftable maps in 1.6!

Have you seen his proposal and the screen shots? Compared to Zans Minimap the map Notch wants to implement just sucks like hell :sad.gif:

Yeah I have to agree. The native maps, while cool if only because it means pages will become writable later, is such a far cry from a minimap, it's almost funny. I mean hell, the level of detail is dependent on the map, and maps already take up inventory space as it is. So you'll lose multiple inventory slots, and they don't update immediately, don't offer coordinates and it doesn't look like there is a way to add waypoints to maps either (but I'm pretty sure that's got to be planned for later right?).

I have the exact same problem. My minecraft.jar is an actual folder, I was tired of using Terminal and it's much easier. I put everything into the folder, icluding the "net" folder. It stops on the "Updating Minecraft" screen. Now, I tried just placing the class files inside of the "net" folder into my .jar, but that just crashed minecraft altogether. help, please?

Have you two tried using WinRAR? I don't know how Macs work, but you may need to use WinRAR rather than just dropping them in the JAR itself(if that's what y'all are doing).

Installing WinRAR makes no sense, I'm on a mac, which opens .zip files itself. I have no problems with any other mod, only this one. I know how to install mods and I am not doing it wrong. If someone could give really helpful advice, that would be great. Still stalling on the update screen.

Are you actually using the archive utility in OS X or are you using The Unarchiver? If your zip files look like packages, you're using The Unarchiver. Try right clicking and using "Open with >> Archive Utility".

I've had tons of issues with several mods using The Unarchiver to decompress the zip files. Using the built in OS X archive utility seems to fix this.

ooh man... Lahwran - did you not build your own index after all? The zoomed out map (4x) and even (2x) are still mightily impacting game performance.

Hey if i create a new world with the Biospheremod in SP and i upload the world to smp, will the world generating like in SP if i move a bit away from spawn

    No it doesn't.
The MP server still uses the standard terrain gen.

This is something I've been trying to get to work in MP, I've set up the server jar file, but it won't gen the spheres with the meta folder, and without it; it won't run at all.

I've been wondering this myself. This mod would be excellent for SMP.

I have tried installing ModLoader many times. I have also tried many different ways. But it never seems to work. I ALWAYS delete the META-INF folder. If it helps I am on a mac. Some of the files overwrite files in the real minecraft.jar, and I think that is the problem. I have also tried without overwriting them. The game actually works that way, but mods dont work at ALL. Please help!

You're probably using the Unarchiver right? Try using the native OS X Archive Utility. For whatever reason, some of the tools modders are using to compress their gear causes some funkiness with The Unarchiver.

I followed the instructions, checked and double checked, and it still seems that I cannot get this to run, and it seems that I am not to blame for it not working.

And what archive program are you using?

Did you read the first post?

IZarc, it shouldn't make that big of a difference what I use to extract it with,
and yes, I did follow the instructions(read the first post).

It shouldn't but it does. I blame whatever is being used to compress them. In OS X several mods get corrupted when you extract them using the popular The Unarchiver tool.

Quite disappointing, and never seem to come across any issues elsewhere. I'm assuming it has something to do with compression algorithms that maybe proprietary to the tool being used to compress the files. Either that or some weird flags are being used that not all clients support. Or both.

Just wanted to report getting some of the same bugs mentioned here - XRay is on by default on load for me - fine not a big deal, just weird.

Also there seems to be a much higher delay once toggling between it being off and on now. Is anyone else seeing this? It used to be relatively quicker - not the rendering, just the switching between modes takes longer.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's holding out for 1.5.x to settle down with bugs/updates. Sure am missing my minimap, though.

Or stop wasting iron and stone and put a redstone torch next to the booster :sleep.gif:
