Well for a very short while snow would cover up the pressure plates, and you could make a snow minefield.

You would dig down one, put a pressure plate down, then when it would snow it would cover up the pressure plate making the ground look completely uniform, and if someone was walking around in the snow they could happen across a random mine, which I thought was pretty neat.

EDIT: And what the guy below me said is very true as well, I had not thought of that.

Hello all!

I was wondering if it is possible to make a mod for SMP that makes snow able to cover up pressure plates?

I have tried to to find something (mod, setting I can change, etc...) that allows snow to cover pressure plates but I cannot find anything.

If this is possible and\or you are willing to do it please let me know and I am sure I can find some way to pay you back!

(Also for clarification I am talking about the snow that falls from the sky that you shovel for snowballs, not the snow that is an actual block.)

I would really like to join, and here is a little bit of information about myself to help your judgement of who I am.

I see you are basing some of your judgements based off of post count, and I have also noticed that most people here do have low post counts as well as recent join dates, which is indeed indicative of griefers, however I have been here for a bit, lurking mostly, and getting ideas from other people. I really like where the TNT cannon technology is going and my current WIP is a biodome made out of glass, inspired by this guy ( viewtopic.php?f=35&t=20984&hilit=site+b ) except I think mine is a tad larger (101 blocks from end to end. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=23637&p=426737&hilit=circle+chart#p426737) it is nearing completion (several trillion stone shovels and pickaxes have lost their lives to this project), and when it is complete I plan to add another layer of snow blocks on top of the glass for added effect.

I myself have been quite concerned about the SMP griefer (who should all be burned at the stake) situation and have stayed away from it (in fear of my stuffs being killed Q.Q) until now. your server looks like a great place to make a home in and be able to go to bed knowing that it will still be there when I wake up in the morning.

I am creating a bio-dome made out of glass (inspired by viewtopic.php?f=35&t=20984 <-- that guy) but after my first attempts to establish a base to build on with paint (which i realized was doomed to fail miserably after i got about 1\4th of it filled in) I decided that I needed something much more exact (like this marvelous diagram you have provided me with!) to go off of.

I have no clue where to ask this, and this place seems as best as any, so here it goes.

I'm sure we're (or most of us are) familiar with this picture.

However, I need this to go up to a 101 square circle, and have no idea how to re-create the pattern that is used in this picture (i have tried using pixels in paint, as well as the circle making tool, but neither are doing the job), so I was wondering if anyone here knew of a formula to use, or could possibly extend the graph themselves.

Same here, it's been happening to me after only about 1-2 mins. of game play, sorta like mine a few blocks, get frozen, mine out anything else close to me, save & exit, re-load, and do it all over again soon after. Quite annoying indeed.

so while mining I happened across a giant cave that already had a island that was about 3\4th of the way surrounded by lava, so I thought "how awesome would it be if i just finished off this lava mote and make that island my new base?!", but as soon as I started to expand the mote (like literally the first block i broke) the lava started to just recede for no reason at all, and in my frantic effort to stop it by mining out more and more areas for it to flow too, the more it just receded into nothing, now my amazing lava mote is barley a 5X5 lava pit that I can't do anything with, wtf? :sad.gif:
