Started playing around beta 1.1. I think old Minecraft is better too. 1.8+ has completely ruined the game for me. I even preferred 1.4 and 1.5 over 1.7.3.

It's already been ruined... bad optimization, bad world generation code, half-assed RPG elements...

    Quote from Xickle

Adding capitalism and oil would ruin multiplayer.

What do you mean, multiplayer already is capitalist on most servers...

</3! Hear that? No? Well that was the sound of my heart breaking.
I guess all I can say is thank you for what you have created so far. And I hope that someone picks this up and starts a continuation project. This will always be my favourite texture pack and I'll really miss using it. :'c Perhaps one day in the future when I have time I will continue it myself... but it really won't be up to the same quality as yours.
Have you lost interest in Minecraft altogether? D: If so, fair enough but if for other reasons I'll be optimistically hopeful that maybe you'll have a change of heart. XD

Yeah, I have lost interest in it completely. I don't really like the gameplay "direction" that they've decided to go with after 1.6. It feels cheap to me now, and I hate the new world generation code that started with 1.8.

Also really annoyed about lack of optimization and features that should be completely standard in a modern game like mip-mapping and anti-aliasing... The game runs really poorly in comparison to some third party map viewers and has big memory issues. And I think it's unacceptable to continue adding new features and get to "release" version without addressing those issues.

If those issues are addressed (officially, not by mods) in the future, and the world generation code changes again, then I might consider coming back to it. But for now, anyone can continue the pack or use the textures for their own pack.

Hello everyone. I don't think I'll ever update the pack again, so I give anyone the right to use it however they want, modify/continue it, distribute it, etc.

Hello. I am making mods for Skyrim right now so this probably won't be updated until some time in January... It could be earlier, but I think it will be then. It's not almost ready because I haven't worked on it much. I could probably finish the update in about 3-4 days, but I'm not interested in doing it for a few weeks. I haven't even played with 1.0 really.

Is the GLSL shaders mod updated for 1.0 too? If it is I'll include bump maps and specular maps with the update.

Your items are so beautiful, it makes me cry! Love this texture pack! Very well detailed!

Hate to sound like a beggar, but if you could upload the terrain.png thats with all the blocks on them? Im not saying an update, but I mean like, have your textures that are already there and the default or WIP textures just stitched on? Thanks if you do

Yeah, I can do that when 1.9 or whatever the next official version is that's released if i'm going to take a while to update. Don't really want to do it before an official release though.

    Hello.

I haven't posted in a little while but I want to let everyone know that the next update will probably be late too. I'm still not really interested in the game, and with the amount of stuff added in the upcoming version(s), I think it will take several weeks for me to update it. It might be December before I update the pack. I'll try not to "disappear" though, and still answer questions.

And as before, if someone wants to contribute and make some textures for the new items, you can PM me with the files and if I think they fit with the pack I'll use them to update it faster. I might modify them to fix better, though.

Also added this information to the first post.

You should think about creating some animated blocks using McPatcher's new animation options. Pretty much ANYTHING can be animated if you're using McPatcher now, so you can make stuff like weaving wheat, glowing glowstone, animated fire in the furnace, or a burning torch, etc. :tongue.gif:

I will want to do that for glowstone, nether stone, maybe torches.

Can you add compatibility with this mod?

I love your texture pack, the absolute best I've ever seen =), but I don't like the textures of that mod.

It's unlikely because I will have to finish textures for all future versions and I'm honestly not very enthusiastic about making item icon textures. I probably won't make any mod textures. If I do, I'll consider it but there are other mods that have been requested as well.

Haha. I know the mushrooms and flowers suck. I want to redesign them but I haven't though of any good ideas for them yet. I might do it with the saplings and wheat too.

As for the other objections, they are things I know and left that way on purpose. The reason for the clouds is to create a gloomier atmosphere. I know that the edges are "sharp", but I don't think the default clouds fit with the pack. If you want them, you can replace them with the originals though. A lot of texture packs use the original or you can get it from the minecraft.jar. It's clouds.png under the environment folder, I think.

The smooth slabs are... like that because I think it makes more sense for them to be closer to the color of stone than to be much brighter... I'm sorry. :tongue.gif: I guess it's good that you like everything else. Thanks for a reply that actually has some descriptive stuff instead of just a single line.

What is everyone complaining about? It's about time! Actually, it's way past time in my opinion. At least I won't have to update my texture pack as often. Also, it's not going to affect mods at all.

I hope minecart sounds are added.
