My friend made us a flatmap for our creative server, it loads fine and everything but when we start the server in "gamemode=1" (which is creative) it's still stuck in survival mode.
What can I do to manually change it to creative mode somehow? I have no idea what he used to generate the world.
We suspect on my server that someones crafted map, the handheld one, is lagging our 1.8 world. He threw the map into lava but every time he revisits the area where the map was trying to render the world it lags like crazy.
Is there any way I can manually delete any data that the map may be trying to render still?
We are an established server and have been around since the beginning of Survival Multiplayer with it's base of regular members. We are looking to expand.
Main Features: Live Overhead map - http://www.baronsofbullshit.com/live-map Custom Warp Points - 1 Private and 1 Public Home spawn - Consider it a warp point. Place it in your home. Grief protection - lockable chests, furnaces, doors. Block place/destroy logging and the ability for admins to rollback grief from other players. Extra Mechanics - Toggleable gates, bridges, elevators Teleport Accept/Deny system - Working in a private area? Random players cannot simply teleport to you, they must send you a request and you must accept or deny it. Much More

The server shares a database with it's associated website. It checks the table containing usernames on the website. If it matches your minecraft name, you are allowed to connect.
This makes it easy to join the server, simply register and activate your account with the link sent to your e-mail. This is just a way to automate things when admins are not online to add people to a whitelist, you are not required to post on the forums or anything.

Yeah. Not that noticeable over 30fps :tongue.gif: Even 20!
There is quite a large noticeable different between 30fps and 60fps and even between 60fps - 100fps.
Tip: If you really want to have good video output, turn on vsync. If your PC is capable, you will be locked at either 60fps with a 60Hz LCD or 120fps with a 120Hz LCD. 60Hz is the most common.
Being locked at 60fps with vsync will remove video tearing (oh god, i hate tearing) and is far better than attempting to increase your e-penis with 99999999 FPS, there's absolutely no point.
I decided i wanted to know how your guys' minecraft runs.computer stalker?
PS;Im running it all on F11 fullsreen
Looking forward,BL,Fancy,fog=far: 150
Looking up w/ ^:200-300
No Bl,looking forward:150 (O_o)
And now for some fun.
No Bl,Fog=tiny,Fast graphics,looking forward:1000 FPS (:biggrin.gif:)
No Bl,Fog=tiny,Fast graphics,looking up:1500 FPS (:biggrin.gif:!)
(Oh god,this next ones fun)
No Bl,Fog=tiny,Fast graphics,looking up,holding F1*:2500 FPS (WOOHOO!)
*If you hold F1 it takes the HUD away and the fps is HUGE but you cant see the fps,so if you let go of f1 you see the fps for a second than it switches back
*me using that ^ trick with no bl, tiny, fast, look up and f1
Now thats plain win.
Too bad that those results are no where near close to what you actually get in normal playing circumstances. Same goes for anyone else claiming over 500fps.
Everyone should be posting their average fps will full video quality setting, no fog, and after playing normally.
I get an average or 130fps on somewhat older hardware
60 fps = normal and playable. This is what LCD monitors sync at (they are 60Hz)
40-60 fps and things will be a bit choppy, but playable
30 fps = still playable, but I personally would not be happy with it.
Under 30, I'm playing a different game or upgrading my system.
Been trying to get MCLawl, MCForge, and MCBaron (which a friend of mine is developing based off MCLawl source) but they all do not want to work with Mono.
MCForge and MCBaron get to this point and stop:
(19:01:55) Starting Server
(19:01:55) Level "main" loaded.
(19:01:55) Creating listening socket on port 26656...
(19:01:55) Done.
(19:01:55) Finished setting up server
No externalurl.txt is generated, however, if the server is run in a Windows environment it works just fine.
I do receive one error:
----02/08/2011 18:43:38 ----
Type: NullReferenceException
Source: MCBaron
Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Anyways, besides those three custom servers, are there any others that are known to work with linux besides the vanilla server available at minecraft.net?
I have been exchanging e-mails with support to Club Uptime (who offer great VPS prices).
Currently, they dot not allow game servers on their standard VPS servers. Here is a quote from their latest e-mail sent to me.
Hello,
On our standard budget VPS plans we do not allow gameservers to be hosted. Gameservers, especially Minecraft, are known to be very resource intensive and can easily have negative impacts on the other clients on the VPS nodes.
We're about to launch a new platform within the next 24-48 hours designed just for gameserver hosting which will have slightly higher pricing, but I would suggest waiting for those plans to be released. We can arrange for you to go with a standard budget VPS and then process an upgrade to a Gameserver VPS once released. Note that Gameserver VPS's will not come with burst ram, however.
I look forward to their price plans for their new line of Gameserver VPS's!

I would have to do that for every user that connects, would like a more automatic method for when I'm not around :tongue.gif:
