The Ryzen R3 is not out yet though. I will update this when they come out. It's just a minimum for now.

A dual core without hyperthreading will not work for minecraft. It is very CPU intensive and that Pentium would in some ways be a downgrade from the processor the OP currently has.

Long standing bug where if you have 32 bit java, the game reports 32 bit windows.

[email protected] is achievable on this machine, although you will need to run at near minimum settings.

I highly advise that you build a new computer. This is the minimum i'd consider getting if i wanted to play Minecraft at it's highest settings.

I would recommend a more capable processor than that Pentium. A low end Ryzen R3 when they come out should work nicely.

Way, way too many mods for 1G of RAM. Increase the RAM allocated to minecraft. 3G should be fine.

That CPU is meh, so don't expect to do many mods, and dont expect a smooth 60FPS experience, though 30FPS should be doable.

Optifine can improve FPS, but you have to change settings. Only you can find that out.

Structures should be fine as long as they don't involve large amounts of redstone and/or physics (falling sand, mobs, etc).

Resource packs should be fine, as long as you don't go higher than 32x or 64x.

Shaders are out of the question pretty much. It is unlikely that you will be able to get any shaders to run on that all all, and the ones that you do will be horribly laggy or be extremely basic.

What framerate are you getting right now on the demo? (Hit F3).

sazrocks posted a message on I'm Upset About the New Launcher. (I know, petty right?) Well Here's Why.

OK, I haven't posted in a looooooong time, so here we go:

    Quote from gurujive»

Over on lady agnes' page on twitter I read the following:

    https://twitter.com/MansOlson/status/790926060611309568

So minecraft has a new launcher, which at first I was like... Oh ok that's cool.

Then I read the following information about the new launcher over on reddit:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/59b7m0/help_us_test_the_new_minecraft_launcher_check_the/

Now what this is saying is that anyone with windows 7+ can use the new launcher but anything younger will have to suffice with the old launcher (acting as though java launcher is bad or something)

Considering how popular minecraft is, the Java launcher is lacking polish.

Fortunately for me, I have windows VISTA

    But, why!?

and I bought MINECRAFT FOR PC.

    See below.

I can't express how I actually feel about this on here except resembling the situation in sight of the words, "cow manure".

Because the makers of the most popular PC game ever want to make a better launcher. Overreact much?

I bought minecraft for PC, not windows 7. not windows 10. not windows fort knox. I bought minecraft for pc.

And you got minecraft for PC. Your point?

This is where I have to say that microsoft has totally screwed up minecraft and I may have to stop playing before the company forces me to stop playing because I don't have the newest edition of windows.

Please explain to me how a new launcher could ever "force" you to stop playing? Because you don't get the new launcher because you are running an extremely outdated operating system? Nothing has changed in your situation, you have neither lost nor gained anything.

And even assuming that for some reason Microsoft doesn't allow the Java launcher to play newer versions, they are still allowing you to play the version of the game you bought, which brings us to...

(This is illigal, because I bought something, to take it back away from me is stealing)

Ok, first it's illegal, not illigal, if you're going to call something illegal, then at least spell it correctly.

Secondly, in what way are they taking something away from you? By not giving you the new launcher, are they somehow deleting minecraft and all its files off of your computer, or no longer authorizing your account? Nope.

I did not sign a disclaimer when purchasing minecraft stating that I will willingly purchase microsoft products to be able to play minecraft.

What the... once again, even assuming microsoft doesn't give you any more updates to minecraft, in what way are they keeping you from playing?

(is that what windows is? a reoccurring fee to playing minecraft?)

    Uh, no, no it isn't.

    I like vista.

Good job, you're in the 1.24%

I've been using vista for about 10 years.

    But why? *Looks below* Oh.

I know it, I enjoy it, and it works. If anything goes wrong, super simple to reassemble.

Windows 7 is all of that x3, no reason to not upgrade.

I'm upset at this motion... for I see its implications.

Minecraft NEVER should have sold out....

I offer you 2.5 BILLION FREAKING DOLLARS for a project that you worked on years ago and don't want to deal with; what would you say, "Nah, I'm good."!?

soon enough it will be, "You need windows 15 to play minecraft, because the past 14 versions didn't have enough security features."

Windows 10 is (for now at least) the last version of windows that will exist. But aside from that technicality, requiring people to get off their butts and upgrade from their ancient OS isn't new at all. Really, you're lucky to be supported at all right now.

    like, cmon, get real here.

Pay money to upgrade my OS so it asks me more questions than it already does,

    What?

and so it hides my file extensions and files from me?

    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how to show file extensions

NO... not just a no..... "cow manure".

The situation is "cow manure" because... oh wait, nothing is happening to you in the reasonable future, and any lack of support for your operating system will be well justified. So why again?

    Quote from gurujive»

I dread having to install things like that though :|

But why? There are plently of tutorials on the internet on how to dualboot windows and linux.

It also takes a slight amount longer to explore through files on linux. (I have set up ubuntu, gnome, and kali though)

What do you mean by that?

    Enjoyed kali the most.

    edit:

you are right though, linux will be getting the new launcher too.

but here's the thing about that:

    http://canalcncarauca.com/2016/10/25/most-dangerous-linux-security-flaw-gives-users-full-access.html

If you use linux someone can take root of your computer, access, remove, add, modify files. And perform actions while you are using it. (within around 5 minutes it says) (So really about 22 seconds)

    That was fixed weeks ago...

Killing off the Java version wont ruin modding... lol

Except it probably would. The reason there are so many mods and that they are so complex is because it is so easy to mod minecraft (not to say that the large mods are easy, but you get my point). The java version is easy to decompile and we even have tools that readily deobfuscate it (MCP). To mod the win10 version however requires more difficult reverse engineering of assembly(er) code and even then is limited by (AFAIK) the inability to change the code that is already there.

OP: Aren't bukkit/spigot dead? Or did that one dude (cant remember is name, the dude is a jerk anyway) lift his DMCA?

sazrocks posted a message on Microsoft Buying Minecraft?
    Quote from Aeroisticon»
This hits me on a personal level. A game that I've played for many years, that I've come to love, and a game that I can call my favorite, is going to be deliberately ruined by a multi-million dollar company.

I have spent over 3,000 hours mining, crafting, and building. And now it's going to seem pointless. PC support is going to stop, and Minecraft is going to be destroyed. Microsoft will most likely drain the spirit, and feel of Minecraft, implementing repetitive mechanics into pointless sequels.

I won't stand for it. If you want to help me in the defense of Minecraft, let's get #ProtectMinecraft trending on Twitter, to show that Minecraft was built around the community, and that's something that Microsoft won't be able to smash with money.

    #ProtectMinecraft on Twitter.

I agree, but you do realize mojang is a multi million dollar company too right?
