Just checking up on your mod and looks busier then ever. Had a thought or question really, are you plaining on doing a gast chicken? The reason I asks is that my laptop really doesn't like the neither....all the lava, I think. I would like to go to the neither as little as possible. lol.
If not here's my idea; I was thinking that the Gasken could maybe (if possible) float like 3 or so blocks high for a lenght time then lands. When it's landed it has a chance of droping a Gast Tear when tamed. The way to tame would be by using a Gast's Soul, would be dropped from a Gast.(could look alittle like a Fire Charge) You then feed it to a normal chicken (or Gasken, which would be found in the neither) it will tame and/or change into a tamed Gasken. Where it's body color will be the same as a normal chicken but the beak and lags could darken like ash and the eyes go to a deep red or a burnt orange. To breed would take Gast Tears, may-be, maybe have a rarity kinda of thing where there's a chance breeding will fail. Only cause Gast Tears are kind of rare as it is.
Hope your having a fun summer. Thank you for all your hard work!
I will keep that in mind. It will not be in the next update though.
I still find it unusual though. the creeper chicken and skeleton chicken in the overworld are the only ones unaffected by AoA's mobs. Those 2 have also practically taken over the mysterium dimension.
I do not know why it would be doing that. I have not done any testing with AoA and currently do not have a computer to test with.
There is a possiblity that Advent of Ascension may be preventing the chickens from spawning because it has so many hostiles mobs that it is using up most of the spawning space. I know spawning works because I test it everytime I change something with it.
I made a new world and with the latest 1.7.10 version and there are no chickens spawning except normal, creeper and skeleton variants- not even in new chunks.
Do you have any other mods installed? Have you done anything with the configuration files?
I updated and at first there was no issues. but for some reason after a while I started to get lag spikes with 2 enchanted chickens around my base, even though the lighting is turned off. could just be my computer.
With the newest version if you have the "Can Emit Light" option disabled, then if the chicken is causing you lag, all chickens would cause you to lag.
Indeed the fps drop also occurs with glowing chickens, in fact its even worse, but not as annoying because I haven't bothered taming any nor bringing any from the nether. I'll update and see if this fixes it. at the time I was reluctant to use v1.6.x version due to the spawning issue that was around before. while I'm on the topic, were ender chickens moved back to the end?
Ender chickens do only spawn in the end in recent versions. This was by accident at first, but I am going to keep it that way because it is configurable via the biome blacklist in each of the chickens configs.
The enchanted chicken seems to be causing considerable drop in FPS when I'm near one. Has this been fixed in future releases? I'm currently sticking to v1.5.2
I have seen this issue with other users, but there are also others that do not expierence it. I have not have this problem myself. I would suggest updating to the most recent version and see if that fixes your problem, if it doesnt then go into the configs and disable the "can emit light" option for the enchanted chicken. I would also check the glowing chicken to see if you have a similar drop with it as they both do the same thing.
Ok, man! Thanks! I seriously thought no one would answer because no one usually does. Nice to know there are still helpers left in the world. I think the spawn problems has something to do with some of the mods I installed. I also installed the Mo' Pigs Mod (but they don't spawn either), so I am going to blame it on one of my industrial mods like Artifice, Thermal Expansion, Mekanism, and Industrial Craft. ;D
I was having problems with the chickens naturally spawning in the game. Any updates that can fix this? I am in version 1.7.10 (in Minecraft) and version 1.6.2 (for this mod (latest).
The problem comes with how Minecrafhandles spawning, mobs simply dont spawn as frequently in already loaded chunks as they do in new chunks. Though I have not had a problem with them no spawning, and have not seen or heard anyone else with this issue. The latest build was using the last 1.7.10 version of forge so if there was a fix in the game, it would be there.
I am currently working on V1.7 for MC 1.8 and do not have plans to update for MC 1.7.10 anymore unless there is a gamebreaking bug.

The next update is a while off yet because of what I am planning on doing with it.

If it was something you had to donate to get, would you feel the same way, or would you be content with it?

It probably is then. I know some computers have trouble with entities from mods for some reason.

Do you happen to have Mo Creatures installed?
