posted a message on Terraforming a mushroom island

    Hello guys.

Apologies if there has been such a similar thread lately, it’s been a while since I’ve posted/been on the forums...

So recently, I’ve found a mushroom island on a server I’ve been playing on with friends, and I was thinking about terraforming it by replacing the mycelium with grass, as it would make farming/building in it much easier and pleasant.

Thing is, I definitely don’t want to replace the mycelium with grass by hand by hand, block-by-block, as it would definitely take me ages to do so, knowing myself for not being patient with so much work. Besides, depending on the size of the island, I wouldn’t be able to predict how many stacks of grass blocks would I need, and the mycelium would still spread over the grass which would make it even more difficult for me.

So, is there a possibly easier (and maybe faster) way to terraform a mushroom island biome?

    Any help would be appreciated.

posted a message on Auto clicker for farming

You can actually hold left/right click and get out of the game without closing it by:

    - Pressing F3+P at the same time to disable pause on lost focus

    - As you’re holding left/right click, press ALT+TAB at the same time to get out of Minecraft without it being closed/paused.

There’s no need for an autoclicking software. The trick I mentioned above is useful for AFK fish farming, for instance.

Unless you really need an auto clicker, that’s all I can help you with for now...

posted a message on Can i find ender dragon on peaceful mode?

However, one must consider how hard it is to beat the game on Peaceful mode...

Because no mobs spawn, it will be hard to get the elements required, such as Blaze rods, ender pearls (though you can get those from villager trading)...

posted a message on How to gather water from underground river in survival mode?

To gather water with a bucket, right-click on the water source block. It doesn’t work on streaming water.

To "make your way across lava with water", pour down the water on a nearby block and the lava will freeze down into obsidian. (Sorry if you already know that)

These mineshafts are common in Mesa/Badlands biomes. They have been added since the 1.10 update. They are the same as regular mineshafts, except that the wooden structures are made of dark oak instead of regular oak.

posted a message on Tips for Beating Minecraft in Hardcore Mode

Alright, here’s some of my advice, based on my precedent and « personal » experience with this game mode...

The post might be too long and a bit confusing for you though.

    - Early in-game, try to work on a steady food source. As long as you have a few seeds and a wooden/stone hoe, a wheat farm is easy to maintain on the long run (And potentially carrots, potatoes, beetroots, melons and pumpkins).

Animal farms are also good as well (Cow/pig/chicken farms), and fishing can also provide you with some food, provided you have three sticks and two pieces of string early in-game.

    - Always carry a water bucket on your hotbar. While mining, if you happen to stumble upon lava lakes at y=11, use it to freeze the lava and turn it into obsidian. If you’re travelling and stumble upon a cliff, pour down the water to make a « waterfall » making it safer to go back down.

    - Early in-game, I recommend a full set of iron armor and a shield in your left-offhand. While the armor will reduce damage taken from mobs (though it will not 100% protect you from them), the shield is effective at avoiding projectiles such as skeleton arrows/fireballs and Creeper explosions, but it will damage as you use it.

    - Advice about combat:

    * Always wait for the attack cool down to fill up when you attack with a sword.

    * Later on, I recommend you carry 3 swords in your inventory: one with Sharpness V, one with Smite V (against zombies/skeletons/Phantoms) and one with Bane of Arthropods V (against spiders/silverfish)

    - Always watch your back. You are very likely to die from a Creeper sneaking up on you...

    - Try to choose the safest place to make a base. An uncharted island in the middle of the ocean, as an example, is better to control mob spawns. If you consider yourself being a « scaredy cat » while dealing with mobs, a Mushroom Island is way better, as no mobs can spawn there.

During your first night, the « hidey-hole » in a mountain/hill is always safe as well.

    - Before going to the Nether, I recommend you work on some level-30 enchanted diamond armor. I would recommend:

Helmet: Protection IV + Unbreaking III + Mending (And eventually, Respiration III and Aqua Affinity)

Chestplate: Protection IV + Unbreaking III + Mending

Leggings: Protection IV + Unbreaking III + Mending

Boots: Protection IV + Unbreaking III + Mending + Feather Falling IV (and eventually Depth Strider III/Frost Walker II which can help dealing with magma blocks)

It is easy to make an AFK fishing farm to get all the enchanted books to make all this gear. But enchanting through anvils take a lot of XP levels though and a lot of uses, but I still find it better than regular enchanting.

    - Also on the topic of the Nether, carry Fire Resistance potions with you (I recommend the 8 minute variant). In case you catch on fire or fall in lava you can always drink one and you are safe. It also protects you from Ghast/Blaze fireballs, but isn’t guaranteed to protect you from Blaze melee attacks...

    - If you want to play it safe, make some set-ups to make fighting mobs easier. As said above, 2 block high ceilings is safe against Endermen.

Okay, I think the post is long enough like that, but I don’t think that’s enough advice... :/

posted a message on Is it possible to integrate an automatic sorting system to an AFK fishing farm?

Hello again guys, sorry for the late reply and thanks for the feedback, I’ve been so busy with IRL stuff recently...

I haven’t actually realised that hooking an automatic sorting system to an AFK fishing farm was possible, until I looked up some « unstackabke item sorters » like I was suggested above.

Now the question is: what is the building setup for the sorting system? I’m excepting to connect it to the AFK fishing farm hopper (where the items would usually go), and the item to go through the system...

posted a message on Mob drops in Java Realms 'Easy' world

As said above, depends on regional difficulty which increases with in-game difficulty (easy, normal, hard).

The higher the regional difficulty increases, the higher chances you’ll have of mobs spawning with [(un)enchanted] armor/equipment. Which makes it dangerous especially at night time.

posted a message on weird bug, animal disappear, appear deformed

Do you have shaders/OptiFine installed? I suspect the shaders to be the cause of the problem, so try removing them.

If that still happens in totally vanilla Minecraft I guess there’s no other choice but to reinstall the game...by backing up your worlds of course.

posted a message on I lost it all in a creeper attack...

Even though the ability of respawning isn’t avilable for me in my words (I play hardcore mode a lot...), I’d still go with option A. Going back down with already prepped up supplies is way safer than going for your stuff without anything at all and who knows what may happen after that...

As an addition: you could add a small recovery equipment system so that when you die, you could get geared back up faster and don’t have to worry going down again.
