Hm, I re-installed it and patched MCPatcher and turned off Smooth Lighting but it's still a no go. Not sure what the issue is but I have a feeling it has something to do with user error lol.

Must be. I just recently used it in 1.8 and it worked fine for me. Are you sure you enabled custom colors when you installed MCPatcher?

Danger zone still works for 1.8. Just make sure that you have mcpatcher installed and smooth lighting is turned off.

OK, it is a bit late, but i'm finally paying attention to how my pack's glass looks in 1.8 MCPatcher and Optifine.

Both used to show some semi-transparent parts, but now only display binary transparency. Is there a way to get the binary transparency back-- or is that just the way things are in 1.8 for now?

As far as I've heard, Better Glass hasn't been updated for 1.8 yet. So yeah, no partial transparency for now.

Alright, this is just flat out weird. in 1.8, I see all Item Frames as pink/black cubes even using out-of-the-box default textures. I sincerely doubt Mojang would release without making sure there weren't major graphics errors. There are no problems with the files themselves.

I'm wondering if it might by my GFX card. It's an Nvidia GEForce 610 GT.

If you're just trying to run vanilla minecraft, and you haven't loaded any resource packs or mods, then yes, it's probably your graphics card.

This guide was written before custom models were introduced, so it's possible that the model system is the cause. I'll update the OP to reflect this.

I believe that in your sounds.json, you can change which sound is assigned to the soul sand event. I'm not sure how to get the default version of the sounds.json to edit anymore, but I'm sure you can find it if you google around.

That is MUCH better, I like it a lot. I especially like how the capital letters are done, it's very unique.

posted a message on Completely transparent leaves? :(
The transparency changes when you switch between fast and fancy graphics. On Fancy, the transparency works just like you are expecting it to. But in fast mode, the leaf blocks become fully opaque, and the faces are culled like what you're seeing. The only solution I know of is to make the fully opaque texture, as if there were no transparency at all. Then, select the parts of the texture that you want to be transparent in fancy mode, and make those pixels 5% opacity or so. That way, the pixels will be rendered transparent in fancy mode, and opaque in fast mode. Take a look at my pack (in my signature) for an example, if I didn't explain well enough.

If you liked Good Morning Craft, you might like Jolicraft.

If you're looking for something entirely different, maybe something at a higher resolution, you might try the pack in my signature. ;)

I'm very impressed! The edges on your flowers are nice and crisp, very well done! I also really like your leaves and granite/andesite/diorite.

While I'm okay with the multicolored-ness of the gravel, it still looks... off. Something about the lighting on it, it just looks like a photograph pasted onto a cube. It just sticks out among the other textures and doesn't really fit with them. I can't really place why.

I will echo what Poly_G said about the dirt. The stone looks like it's pretty good, but the dirt is definitely lacking in detail compared to everything else.

Overall, very nice work! It's good to see some well done photorealism for a change. :)

Your text editor might be saving the file in the wrong encoding format. Try using a different text editor, or making sure that your text encoding is set to UTF-8.

    Hey i made something too:

It is more like a new and experimental comic style i tried to create. I am not sure about it, what do you think?

@Peyton: amazing as always :) it reminds me somehow of summerfields.

I like that. A lot. EDIT: Stylistically speaking, I mean. I kind of agree with Drazile, it might not fit the theme. I'd be interested to see where you take it.
