posted a message on Enchantment Level Color

You can't change the color of the numbers in vanilla, only with MCPatcher.

If you have MCPatcher installed and you feel like doing it, here's how you would get it to work. In the /assets/minecraft/mcpatcher directory, create a new text document called "color.properties". Open in up in Notepad, and add a line that looks like this:

    text.xpbar=b7d0f5

That jumble of numbers at the end there is the hex code for the color I want the text to be. That particular color is a whitish-blue. Look in the color picking window of your image editor, and you should see a similar set of numbers and letters. Copy the one that represents the color you want, and put it at the end there.

posted a message on Using Resource Packs

Most of the time I use my own packs, especially since I'm working on them all the time. But when I'm not, I like to hop around, trying out all the packs I see around on the forum. I most recently tried Loki's Sassgard, but I didn't play with that for long. Before that, I tried Summerfields, A Brush More Colour, and Calidus. But, the one I really like is Hoodoo's Thine Explorer pack.

And here's what I've got so far, using Cooldude's palette:

Buuuut I might end up starting all over. Which do you all think would be better - style A (more detailed) or style B (less detailed)?

I really like this Resource pack! Especially how it is Vector-based imaging which is cool too! Nice work! The ores are nice and "clean" and fit well into the stone!

    Glad you like it! :)

I've made this stuff: quartz, and all the different kinds of chests. I'm working on a new update, and should have it out soon for you all to enjoy!

My pack Inklination has a similar bright, upbeat feel. However, it's not quite as focused on the fantasy aspect. It's also a fair bit simpler, but hopefully you'll like it. :)

posted a message on Is there any good 1024x1024 tex packs out there?

I recognize the pack you're looking for. That's LB Photorealism. The pack is offered up to 512x. There is not a 1024x version, and there never has been. I know you want to test out your computer's abilities, but hardly any 1024x packs exist, and I can guarantee that none of them are complete. There's just no market for them.

    Also:

Even with 512X textures i get around 80 fps and that is with 50% gpu and cpu usage.

If you double your texture resolution, due to math reasons, you quadruple the amount of memory that it takes to store that texture. So, I'm fairly certain that if you're telling the truth there, if you try to run a full 1024x pack, you will max out your memory and have a nasty crash on your hands. Your computer is good, I'll give you that, but a full pack at that resolution would require an atlas with nearly 400 million pixels, and that's just for the blocks. I think that 1024x is a lot larger than you realize, you might have a lot of trouble with it.

posted a message on Transparent edges?

It has to do with mipmapping. If you go into your video settings and turn mipmapping down to 0, does it go away? If so, make sure that all your texture files aren't at an odd resolution, like 31x31 or 63x63. Putting them at even resolutions should fix the problem.

posted a message on Need opinions on this...

I like it. It's very pretty, and a lot more creative and original than most doors I've seen (including my own). Though, if the rest of the textures aren't quite as stylized and embellished, I could see it sticking out quite painfully. A full pack in this style would look very nice, I think.

Make one? No, but I can find one.

Synesthesia is about the best you're gonna get. It's one of my favorites.

Also, I took JonasTheRoman's advice about the ores. I created a new design for each ore block:

As always, downloads are in the OP. Thanks for all your support, everybody!

P.S. I'm sorry that the OP got all fudged. :( I tried to change the main image to one with a little more life, and I ruined all the handy goto links. Hopefully curse will get the issues with the post editor worked out and I can fix it.

Guys! Long time no see! Been very busy with rl so I haven't had time to post any textures. I have started working on another resource pack that's inspirated by Adrian von Ziegler's music and dark medieval ages. It's 128x hd resolution textures with experimental comic horror style. I used smooth brush for making textures and pure black for dark shades to create as authentic comic style as it's possible with Photoshop and mouse.

    Cemetery of Cursed Light:

    House of Cursed People:

Very cool! It reminds me a lot of EmpororDOOM's work, which I've always loved.

A resource pack must have a pack.mcmeta in the root folder for it to be recognized. Do you have one present? Is all the necessary code filled out?

It's right there at the top - you ran out of memory. It looks like you're trying to use the 512x version, and that's probably just way too big for your computer to handle. Try using a lower resolution texture pack.

Here's some shots of stuff I've made over the past few days.

After I read through that thread lemon posted on dead packs, I kind of had an artist mid-life crisis. I really think that Illustrious is about at the end of it's term, and I don't think I'll continue working on it. Time to move on. But, I really like making hand-painted textures, so maybe I'll start a new pack. I'd sure like to stick around.
