posted a message on No item pick-up sounds in 1.3.2
    Quote from sirguylittle

When you have a brand new Minecraft install, or you have deleted the .minecraft folder in order to force an update, the launcher does not immediately download all the sound data. So when you get the 'Done Loading' message, the launcher has only downloaded the main game files.

Either leave the launcher at the main menu, or start playing a game while remaining logged in and the launcher will eventually download all the sound files.

It took about 3 and a half minutes to download all the data on my 8Mb connection, so it is probably dependent on the available Minecraft server bandwidth rather than your own connection.

As of version 1.3.2 your .minecraft\resources folder should be 40.2MB in size when complete.

I used to run a server on a mac through hamachi...if logging in through localhost doesn't work than your server is having the problem and hamachi is working and thats one less problem to look through!

After that you could try to redownloading (sounds like you did...) or going through the crash log. Crash log would be your best bet. Just posting it helps people that know what to look for help you out.

    Quote from Hidinginthelight

Aether isn't known for playing well with other mods.

You could open up the config file for EE, and move the block ID's for the collector (and any others you see in the aether world)

Changing block ID's will break your current world, you'll need to start over.

    The Aether is very fussy...

posted a message on How do I get my olympic stadium from my SP world into my server?
If you are trying to run it on a server of your own I am pretty sure you can just drag and drop the world file into your server and rename the world name in your server.properties file accordingly. (Never tried it...and not sure where or how the nether and end world files are created separately in server worlds)

Cant hurt to try...just backup your saves!

Could be mods / texture packs taking up a lot of space/memory and not allowing the chucks to load properly. Just a hunch...

posted a message on How do i get mods?
    Quote from Jdembo

Theirs a lot of youtube tutorials on it, and perhaps try to use MCpatcher.

^^ Is your best bet...Youtube tuts are amazing.

I will tell you in a nutshell what you have to do...

    1. Find a mod...
    2. Download!
    3. Open up your .minecraft folder (do %appdata% in your windows start bar/command prompt and go into roaming.)
    4. Go into bin and than right click and open the minecraft.jar with something along the lines of winrar (free download...)
    5. DELETE META-INF!
    6. Follows the modders instructions...(some mods require prelim mods like modloader or forge...some have different installation methods pending on complexity.)

posted a message on Rare mob drops are useless! (how to improve rare mob drops)
    Quote from Neospector

That's the point. The limited durability is to keep players from getting infinite free iron swords from a mob grinder. Armor will also only drop on mobs wearing that armor.
It's a feature, intended. Zombies will still drop iron ingots, and the weapons are usually enchanted, along with potatoes and carrots. That's good enough drops.

..maybe 75% is too extreme? I'd rather more like 25-30%

Agreed. Maybe reduce a tiny bit (if at all...the game is called MINEcraft...not GoFindACavecraft) but not to much. Exploring caves is so fun and having to dig them yourself? That would just be a drag and take a lot of time and a lot of people would lose interest.
