    Is there any chance that this mod will ever receive another update? If not, would you consider releasing the source or appointing a successor? I've been waiting over three years for an update, and in the interim, no one has come out with a suitable replacement.

    That worked, thanks. I couldn't find any information on which version to use so I was using the recommended build, 1558. It worked using the latest, 1614.

    I had an idea for this mod that would be really helpful. I like to lay long minecart tracks across the surface using Railcraft locomotives to move cargo, and I think it would be awesome if this mod was able to display routes. Perhaps, in each chunk it could check to see if there was a track there and if there was one in an adjacent chunk, draw a track between them. That would make keeping track of rail lines really easy :)

    Many places that talk about this mod mention a secret feature in hardcore mode. It's pretty easy to figure out what that might be, considering the main feature of hardcore mode and the main feature of this mod, but unfortunately this feature was removed some time ago and never re-added.

    I've just discovered this mod. The one feature that really appeals to me is the "hardcore secret" (I guessed what it was immediately, and then confirmed it by looking it up). Unfortunately, this feature is not there! I even tested it to see. I'm very disappointed and will probably uninstall the mod, but if this feature is ever added back in I'd love to play it!


    I'm still in 1.7.10 btw... No intention of ever updating. I've been putting up with features I don't want and don't like since beta 1.8 and I'm just not willing to go past 1.9 and screw up the way combat works. (Yes I saw the classic combat mod and I'm impressed, but there are a few mods that I consider essential that have not updated yet, so not for a while.) Thanks for supporting 1.7.10, that's really cool of you!

    I would much appreciate a port back to 1.7.10. Most of the mods I can't live without aren't out for 1.8 yet so I've been using Balkon's Weapon Mod. It has too many melee weapons and too few guns, and I just discovered this mod and it looks like a huge improvement. So... any chance you'll get around to that any time soon?

    I just have to say, in Middle-Earth, mithril is rarer than meteoric iron, is stronger than the best steel alloys, never tarnishes, is lighter than leather yet harder than diamond, and can protect a hobbit from being crushed by a troll. I really think you should call it something else.

    I have always hated the blocks in minecraft. It makes things easier when building and mining, but in my opinion it is exceedingly ugly. My idea is that you could smooth the terrain blocks out and make them curved. For example if you had a hill, instead of having a multi-tiered pile of grass blocks that looked more like an irregularly-shaped pyramid than a hill, you would have a smooth, curved surface that looked like a pile of dirt. I have a world where i used Kaevator's slopes mod to smooth out a whole plains biome, and it looks pretty good, but it's just not realisticly smooth.

    In the mod, all blocks would have an extra data value that would specify whether they were placed by the world generator or the player. Natural blocks would mostly be smooth, and most player-placed blocks would be square so that you could build square structures. There would be a few excaptions, like tree trunks which would always have rounded sides and square ends.

    If I were the owner of Mojang I would make the terrain blocks smooth themselves out into curved surfaces that looked realistic. I hate the blockiness of minecraft. But half size blocks would smooth the terrain significantly too. If this mod got made, it would be my new favorite.

    First of all, this is one of the most awsome mods out there :D. i'm obsessed with trains and i also play minecraft so its pretty great.

    what i wanted to ask was, is there a way to dye the steam locomotive anymore? the colored versions don't show up in the creative menu or NEI, and changing the dye when crafting the thing doesn't work, yet the changelog mentions

    "changed the color system: only one base model that can be "painted" using a dye : that means many models will be lost when you update => Empty anything you don't want to lose"

    I think this could also be done with the EMD units too (the SD-70, GP-40, etc.) but i'm not sure.
    Any info about this would be appreciated.
