I just want to say that this mod has made minecraft come alive for me again. In vanilla minecraft getting to the Nether, safely and without rushing it, takes about 30 minutes and thats just such a waste of a truly excellent game.
The challenge presented by this mod is wonderful because it gives you an opportunity and an imperative to savor everything minecraft has to offer. instead of breezing through wood to stone and iron in the first ten minutes, every single resource becomes a golden chalice to be fought for and once attained truly appreciated.
Leather armor has never felt so good.
Thank you avernite for the challenge; for the grind. every ounce of effort I put into this mod is, at end, rewarded ten fold.

I'm so sorry I couldn't join you on the new server for its opening night, Mindanao. But at the time my computer was in pieces in my basement awaiting an upgrade, and I was on my way to a nine-hour shift at work. I've got my PC up and running now but there's still a lot of software to be put back in place, and then a lot of YouTube videos I need to catch up on either editing or recording.
I'm looking forward to coming days when I find the rhythm that allows me to turn out good content while having enough free time to take part in these kind of community events. (while also sleeping/eating/showering occasionally) Hopefully the 8-core CPU will have my back on this one.
And wolves are very effective against zombies and skeletons without bows(too low to hit... usually) so you could get a wolf, use it to kill more skeletons and get more bones for more wolves to kill more skeletons and.... well you get the idea.
And since a kill by a wolf is considered a kill by the player, you get to get xp and rare drops as well
Wow. I didn't realize a wolf kill counted as a player kill in MiTE! Starting up a pack of wolves would be ideal. I've got one wild one who has more or less moved into my shelter. I leave a one-block opening, and he uses it like a doggy door. Unfortunately (wait? what!?) I haven't had any skeleton visitors yet, nor found any bones. But I'll be looking for that opportunity from now on.
Almost ready to finally cook my twenty-stack of meat. Curious to see if I actually go into the positive levels again with that.
That biome *was* seed-barren! And my sugar cane never came up. It's a wonder I survived it, really. The one thing it was rich in, though, was gravel. So just as I was nearing the end of the local resources, I built a boat, loaded up all the gravel I could find, the sugar cane that never grew, and the meat I'd been saving from the start; and I set sail for more fertile grounds! The fertile grounds, however, are rather dense with wolves who have killed off all the local wildlife except for me and the spiders. And I think 'me' might be next.
