    I . H A V E . R E T U R N E D

...and we've been streaming MiTE (r195) on http://twitch.tv/roninpawn

The current run is 19 days in, starting here:

...carrying through to copper pickaxe here:

Tomorrow (Wednesday) at ~4pm or so...
...god and chronic disease willing -- we shall claim the first ore in this seed.
Follow the twitch channel and (since Twitch is notoriously bad at ACTUALLY sending notifications to followers who've bell'd it) might want to sub the Youtube channel where the VODs land as well. (http://pawnlive.roninpawn.com) I broadcast to both simultaneously and if Twitch doesn't say boo when the stream starts, maybe YouTube will.

    I AM THE RONINPAWN!

    ...this message will now self-destruct.

...Uh, could you please print this message out, tear it up on your end, and maybe burn it or something?
    Thanks.

    posted a message on [1.14] Chocapic13's Shaders

I've been able to use your latest Lite pack to get shaders into Vivecraft - Minecraft for room-scale VR - and I can run them while livestreaming from the same PC. So thank you and congrats on having a beautiful shader pack that can deliver framerates, even in VR! That said, I don't know if I can live inside the headset much longer with my home and caves constantly orange-lit by torches. The color temperature becomes actually oppressive. So I took a look through the shaders and I plan to do some experimenting tomorrow, but am I right that torchlight has been hard-coded into 'ambientNdotL.rgb' across multiple gbuffer_*.vsh files?

    I'm looking at these lines:
    ambientNdotL.rgb = amb1 + vec3(1.0,0.42,0.045)*torch_lightmap[...]

...And I'm guessing that vec3 is the orange of the torchlight color.

If you can confirm, it'll save me some blind testing when I wake up later.

    Also: *cough* global constant *cough*

Ooh! Avernite. If you go riffling through the Pyramid generation code, I've always thought -- since the MiTE 'Migos plummed the depths of our first pyramid -- that it would be cool if there were a few torches gen'd down there to lessen the chance of mobs spawning and blowing up the loot.

    Random idea quota met!

So. Fighting mobs with server lag is a very different experience. Hurray first death. And second, and third, and.... Was lvl 10, with 0 deaths, now lvl -6 with > 0 deaths. Due to a foolish obsession with trying to get my pickaxe and stack of ores back from an ever-growing horde of zombies, that soon got skeleton friends, followed by a pack of ghouls. For some reason whacking ghouls with a torch didn't seem to be hurting them, so I left my happy safe spot to try to lure them away from my sturph, and died some more. Now I have a ghoul in my house.

I suddenly feel like a real MitE Miga(I've been watching the YouTube channel) :P

Now I have a small batch of ore, one copper ingot, and... no coal. So I am back to digging gravel for copper nuggets, because this is my fate. Think Imma take a break for a bit. Go do something less stressful. Like skydiving.

lol. No doubt. Mining is well-dangerous! The only defense I've come up with for it is intense cowardice. A trait with which I am naturally blessed.

Hmm.. Ghouls shouldn't require silver weapons, last I knew. But maybe hitting them without any sort of weapon has been made ineffective. I know that in MiTE if your health is too low, attacks will trigger knockback but won't do real damage due to your presumed weakness. It's a curiosity, for sure and I'll be watching to see how Ghouls respond - though I hope not to have to fight them barehanded. I hope not to have to fight them without a wall between us, actually.

A zombie warped through my wall and killed me. juiasiasjaosjaoisjAAAARGH.

I've seen them come through walls when sand, dirt, or gravel is falling. They slip through during the gravity cycle - or they used to; dunno if that's changed. Just as deadly is when you get two or more of them pushing on each other as they try to get nearer to you through an opening or a wall. Their collective force ends up squeezing the lead zombie into the block space enough that it can reach through solid wall and gank you from seeming safety.

    Really enjoy watching Pawn's video:)

Are there something wrong with me?Why will I want to jump in to the server and getting ready to die a lot? Crazy me xD

Life on the server is significantly less impossible. For other people anyway. I'm still inept.

    Also: Multi-post. EXTRA BALL!

I think I should mention that I may have wedged a bed into a hobble in the desert to the East... and sleeping in it may result in dying in a wall when you try to exit it. Um, yeah. Just a heads up on that. You'll probably find my starter-kit scattered on the ground around it, too. Not that I died or anything!

Video of said events coming shortly to the channel, along with a new MiTE let's play series recorded on this server.

Yes, yes you can have too many cows.

Don't worry. I know a really good solution to the problem.

...it may involve a bit of fire, though.
