You should definitely take a backup in case the results aren't to your liking.

I don't know of any reason it wouldn't work, though I have little enough experience playing on servers, none in running them.

There's always a chance that mob farms and such will stop working when you update of course.

how do you do the conversion, or do you just start using the new revision of the server?

    Hi,

I have a personal server set up with lots of stuff build in it in rev 1.14.4, can I convert this to 1.15?

We would like to retain as much as possible if possible...

I'll usually just turn them all off if I've got a lot of work to do below ground.

hmm, that kinda sucks if you have to keep changing settings in a game each time you change environments, if we could do it quickly and seamlessly then maybe, but for me every time I change a shader, MC exits and reloads the game...

Hey, I use my own texture pack which is mostly "Paper Cut Out" with a few alterations. I think BSL shaders are the best, but Sildurs are very good as well. Both are very customizable, but make sure you start with Optifine and a decent GPU. If your computer sucks, get the "lite" versions or try "lagless" shaders. What you're after in terms of glass is called "connected textures". Certain resource packs support them, you'll want to copy the folder from one of those into your own resource pack to get the same effect. Gotta have optifine first though. You can zoom in when it's installed as well, by pressing "C". I went with the glass from "Monsterley". MC will apply the top resource pack first, anything that isn't there it will look for in the next pack (below) and again, until it has every texture it needs.

I've pretty much given up on shaders as things look so crapping underground and at night...

what would you all recommend for the best underground shader with torches and/or at night walking around?

I don't have a high end machine, my graphic card was updated about 5 years ago and cpu even longer...

    Here's how things looked before:

Here's how they look with the Seus shader:

just completed an aquarium with my last pic...

With Sues the water looks fantastic and sunsets are a big improvement, unfortunately night looks like crap. The torches and lantern lighting turns really blocky and dark. I had to crank the post processing exposure to get it where I could see decent at night and now day time looks too bright.

Any suggestions on a shader that look good at day and night? I can't play around with this again until tomorrow so any suggestions would save me some time...

Also, please recommend some texture resource packs, one thing I saw that I would really like is glass that is more transparent and seemless, I saw this in a vid and it looked really cool but not sure how they got it. I did some google searching and found 2 seemless glass texture packs, one no longer worked and the second sucked. I'm running v.1.14.4

When installing resources packs where say 3 change glass, how does MC determine which version to keep, does it keep the version at the top or the bottom of the list or does it maybe blend them?

    Thanks,

    V

What exactly do you mean, "improve"?

I use my own modified version of the Lively Default texture pack to brighten things up a bit, because I think many of the default Minecraft textures are a bit drab. Beyond that, you could load up Optifine and try out some different shaders if your PC will handle it.

I've seen some pics of really nice water or glass that looked way better then the vanilla and improved textures, just wondering what you guys are using, the most important thing to me is that the game remain stable...

Something like Razer Synapse / Razer Cortex is forcing java to only allocate 247Mb ram

hmm, that seems odd, it's actually my room mates machine so I'll see what stuff he has installed and run malware-bytes and windows defender to seewhat they find... strange that it would only affect 14.4 and not 13.1...

    thanks,
