We've been waiting for the screenshots since the beginning of time!

    **** you Mojang!
    Release this **** already!
Also, Minecraft Wiki said it would be released from March 25th to April 10th. Now, it says soon. **** you Minecraft Wiki!

    1. I dont ****ing want to.
    2. I don't care.
    3. Mojang's least concern is the Xbox LIVE edition.
    4. They need to get more people. If they don't, **** them
    5. I have jailbreak and didn't pay a ****.
    6. Come and shut me up.

and now they are making "yogventures" which is a complete copy of minecraft, the game they supported so much
its like saying "this game is sh#@, because its not my game"

Or, more likely, they like the game, so they want to make a copy of it. I made my own 2D Minecraft (it's not published, though) not because I think Minecraft is terrible, but because I liked it so much that I wanted to make a copy.

If they thought Minecraft was terrible, they wouldn't be playing it. That's what they did with WoW.

How can anything he promised be "delayed" when he quit?

That would mean cancelled last I checked...also known as a lie

Notch NEVER promised CTF. http://notch.tumblr.com/post/108596899/some-thoughts-on-game-modes That's the blog post where he talks about CTF. The TITLE of the blog post is "Some thoughts on game modes", so it was never confirmed.
    Quote from name ="Notch" »

After having built a level in Creative or Survival mode, you and your friends connect to another fortress made by some other people. The map gets bigger so it fits both maps, and you play a game on this map. Perhaps Capture the Flag, perhaps something else.

^Even more proof he never promised it.
    Quote from DaBiggman

The good news is that people are FINALLY starting to recognize that Jens has been the only one actually working since he was hired back in 2010. Thankfully, he isn't a *insert insult here* like Notch was and actually works.

Notch wasn't lazy, he worked on the game from when it began to the release - which is what most normal game developers do.

I corrected it. Thank you. And really? I see at least one person with it on almost every semi-major server i get on.

No problem. I've been on quite a few servers and I've only seen one person with the Link skin. Kinda weird.

You don't gain much experience from using programs, you gain programming experience as you make programs. The most influential programmars like Bill Gates and Bjarne Stroustrup were not game addicts. I used to think that gaming does help in life, just like you. I noticed how useless it is months ago.

The reason I started programming is because I played games, so games aren't all bad as you would lead us to believe.

You can have recreational pursuits in a more useful manor, like playing sports, it helps your health.

I don't play sports at all and I use the computer all day and I'm in better physical condition than most of my classmates who DO play sports. Not saying that's a universal law, but saying that just because you don't play sports doesn't mean that you're obese and your health is terrible.

It's almost unavoidable, seeing as, well, I'm active on youtube and active on this site, both of which have many things giving away the update. Sure I can not read/watch them. But when they're on the front page or right there when they pop up, it's kind of hard to not at least read or look over.

Not to mention, I still have a problem with the inconsistency of the updates. If they were still releasing them monthly and for sure monthly, I would have no problem. But all they do is release a bunch of snapshots and I have to wait even longer, not knowing when the actual update comes out.

Also, you don't think the snapshots ruin the fun of updates, really? I honestly have felt no excitement for a single update past 1.8, or whenever they started doing pre-releases. Even when I did participate in downloading pre-releases. Everything was revealed ahead of time in slow little chunks and it just had significantly less built up anxiousness for a big update like they used to do.

Just ignore that the snapshot even exists, and take the info like you did before 1.0. Mojang did tell us things before the updates. We knew almost all of what was going to be released in 1.8 before it came out.

I know. I clearly said that. But I get impatient too, believe it or not, and Mojang gets the idea that if they release enough snapshots, they can take forever for the actual update. I used to wait 1 month for an update, knowing it will come in 1 month. Now they seem to take forever, and I eventually end up downloading one or two of them because I don't know when they'll come out with the actual update.

I'm a youtuber. A content uploader and viewer. You clearly took me too literally. Words aren't meant to be always taken in the most literal sense. I obviously don't HAVE to watch them, but it's bound to happen seeing as I'm active in the youtube community. Even if I didn't watch a video, I still get commenters telling me new things about updates and such.

More snapshots=more time in between updates
More time in between updates=more impatience
I'm not perfect, I get impatient. If they're not going to release them monthly or I'm not going to know that they're released monthly, I eventually download one because my impatience gets the best of me and I don't know when the actual release will be. They've become inconsistent.

If it's your fault that you're spoiling yourself on the update, then don't complain when you find out stuff you didn't want to know.

Now yes, I could just "not download them," but eventually I get sick of waiting and have to download one of them. Because Mojang thinks that since they release multiple snapshots, it gives them a go ahead to take forever on releasing the final version of the update.

Well then, that's your problem. No one is forcing you to download the snapshot.

Not to mention, even if I didn't download the snapshots, I still have to see youtube videos about them.

Excuse me...you HAVE to see YouTube videos about them? Actually, you don't. Just avoid the videos with information about the snapshot.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the snapshots? For me, it kind of ruins the updates, because everything about it is already known and made public before it's even released. As much as I hated waiting for the updates, it was oh-so satisfying to see a new one when I go on Minecraft one day.

You can still have that feeling, by not updating to the snapshots or reading any spoilers about them.

While that's a good reason, mods aren't really required to play the game anyways, so most people are complaining about something unnecessary.

Snapshots aren't just for the modders; in fact, 1.2.5's snapshot is the only snapshot that was released as a snapshot just for the modders. The real purposes of the snapshots are to let impatient players see the content faster and to report bugs to Mojang. You're complaining about something that is only good.

posted a message on We need releases once a quarter, pre-releases frequently

There is also a point when "not updating" can be harmful; I didn't update to the newest version because I didn't want crashes. All of my servers did update, so I can't play on them. This is a decent idea in a sea of constant "WHERES MY MOD SUPPORT BLAAAAAAAAH" threads.

Um, just have one minecraft.jar for the old version and one minecraft.jar for the new version, and switch whenever you need to.
