    It does not seem to be... I figured that it would but I can do a bit more testing to be sure. The last few mornings I have checked the world has been corrupted, which is normally a sign that the server did not exit properly.

    I will take another look at it and make sure that is not just me...

    Edit: Well, looking at the source of YAMS the Service *does* seem to stop the server. I will have to figure out what is going wrong then...

    posted a message on Minecraft Server as Windows Service Help
    I am using YAMS to run my Minecraft server as a Windows service.

    This is great as it runs the server in the background of the computer and can start without needing my account to login. However, I need to shut the computer down at night. This is all automated using Windows Tasks.

    How would I go about stopping the Minecraft server while it is running as a service from a script? There is the built in admin panel in YAMS but I would like to make this all automated during my normal computer shutdown script.

    Is there some way I can write to the StdIn of the server and send the "stop" commands to Minecraft that I need? I will take a look at the YAMS source code as well, but I figured I would see if anyone here had a solution.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Very cool, seems to work just fine on Ubuntu 10.10 x64.

    Only small complaint is that some of the GUI components are a little bit squished on the Level Data, but probably just due to the difference in system look and feel. Not sure how much you can really do about that.

    Thanks! I like it!

    Sounds good, thanks! Also, I have been using the server mod and enjoy it a lot. Good job!

    In the long run, a patcher is the way to go. You can just inject your code around most other mods and lessen the chance of larger problems with compatibility I would think. It should have a different thread while its in dev still.

    Edit: I'm an idiot. It does work. I copied the CONTENTS of the WildGrassPatcher folder to .minecraft not the folder itself. Should have read this first.

    Could you add a warning in the program if it does not detect the correct directory layout? Sorry about that.

    Even something simple like:
    String somevar = System.getProperty("user.dir"); //Get current running directory? (I think)
    if ( !(somevar.endsWith(".minecraft/WildGrassPatcher/")) {
        JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "Your directory structure looks wrong!\nPlease move to blah de blah.");
        System.exit(1);
    } else {
        -looks good-
    }

    Hmmm, must have been Indev because I remember the day Infdev came out.
    I did play creative before that, but Indev was out, I just had not bought the game yet.

    I've been playing for like a year? Lol :ohmy.gif:

    For people who use very few mods, ModLoader is kind of a pain.

    Very well done, works good on my singleplayer worlds as well as my server. Easy to use interface, ability to hide if I dont want to use it. Even uses the correct texture pack for the items. :biggrin.gif:

    This shall be added to my small list of "must have" mods. Thanks!

    My Opinion is that there should be different Grass heigh Limits to the Biomes and overall.
    So greener Biomes have more high Level Grass, but not every Grass grow to this - max height = more rare.

    It is already Biome based. :smile.gif: Forests and what not have lots of grass (and taller!) while tundra and snow regions have much less.

    So, I'm wondering if it makes much of a difference if you install this mod before or after a texture pack.

    I'm also wishing this mod would accomplish a few things. I think the sprites should be taller, thinner, & more abundant. In all honesty, if it was to look like wild grass, then the grass should grow to occupy the space of an entire block, and prettymuch fill it up. :||||:
    better yet *snip image*

    As of today, the wildgrass images are loaded from a different file, no longer from the terrain.png. Which texture pack you are using should no longer make a difference. As for making it taller and thinner, you can edit the wildgrass image to make it all thinner and taller. (I believe EJ is changing how this is done again, so might want to wait on that one.)

    Awesome. Still glitchy though, I'll wait for non-glitched version. Good work, keep it going!

    Version 7.0 is glitchy, but the other download below that (6.2?) is just fine and also works with Beta 1.2_02.
    Edit: Actually, the old download has been moved up on the main post as the main one it seems.

    I just tried my main world (after doing a backup) and it has been working just fine for quite a while. Lilly pads look lovely, and grass is working well. Not quite sure why, as I didnt change anything. :Sheep:

    Bugs (and information I have found about them)
    Cant prove this is all correct, but if it helps at all...
    Major:
    - Crashing after about 30 seconds into game (sometimes).
    Hitting a NullPointer exception in "BlockGrass.updateGrassTick( )"

    - Few other people posted crashes that I havent managed to get yet.
    Tomiy's
    Seiseki's
    DreadlordKillz
    dorianGREY's
    minergirl's
    Dilla's
    Repkam09's

    Silghtly less evil errors:
    - After exiting the game, and then opening the world again my Lilly pads vanish. (?)
    - Displayed level size is decreasing each time it loads the world.
    - Incorrect textures used when placing a sapling on the ground.

    I think this is because BlockSapling extends BlockFlower. BlockSapling calls 'super.updateTick( )' and is using version in BlockFlower which has been changed now.

    Thanks for the update, looks very good! Already customized everything for my Painterly Pack. :smile.gif:
    After the second loading, I'm getting the same error (I assume) that everyone else is.

    Also, does the grass reset each time you re-load the level? I will give it another few tries and look around, but it seems to load fresh each time?

    Thanks for your hard work!

    Yah so I've been browsing the forums for like an hour now, could someone give me a link to hey0, or anything else that will allow me to set a home, spawn, or teleport point?

    For example, if you don't understand what I'm looking for :
    I was playing a server and to get out of the spawn you had to type in /teleport xxx, how could I do this?
    It is really annoying to try and find every small shelter I create if I die.
    Thanks for any help

    I believe hey0 will do this, but I BELIEVE that is being phased out and replaced by the new Bukkit server mod.

    Have not used any of them myself, but here are some links:
    Bukkit - http://bukkit.org/ (Follows hMod, the new version. Its good apparently.)
    hMod - http://forum.hey0.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=21 (unofficial, no longer supported by hey0?)
