Yeah right, it's saying it isn't compatible with this version which you can download right here if you want. Really stupid, if you ask me, posting a 1.2.4 version that they clearly state isn't compatible with BTB.
There are a number of reasons why that statement makes you look foolish:
1. Flowerchild has put future development of BTB in the capable hands of another modder, who is currently working on updating it.
2. Since Flowerchild has not been actively developing BTB, he hasn't taken the opportunity to update that OP. The link, however, is still valid and is for the most recent version of BTW that is compatible with BTB
3. The modder who has been placed in control of BTB will most likely be posting their own forum thread for continued releases, if they haven't already.
Bottom line: Don't post inflammatory criticisms when you have no clue what's really going on.

I'm a big fan of this mod, but I need the latest 1.2.3 version of BTW for Better Then BuildCraft. Does anybody know where I can find the old version files?
From the BTB OP:
NOTE: Due to Better Then BuildCraft currently being for version 1.2.3 of Minecraft, it is NOT currently compatible with the most recent release of Better Than Wolves (which is for 1.2.4).
The last version of BTW for 1.2.4 (BTW V3.57) can be downloaded here:
Apr 14, 2012Description:Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
Hi all! I'm currently working on dusting off my limited Java knowledge, and working on a simple mod that allows the player to craft a sticky minecart, using slime. The recipe would be identical to sticky pistons, substituting a minecart, of course. When a sticky cart collides with another sticky cart, the two carts will link, allowing the player to chain carts up to 6 in a "train". Sticky carts can be of the furnace and chest varieties and will have (slightly) increased momentum when chained.
Here's what I've done so far:
- Installed Eclipse, MCP, and JDK
- Decompiled Minecraft
- Become throughly intimidated by the EntityMinecart code, to the point that I'm not sure how to proceed
- Modloader Compatibility
- As few base-class edits as possible
- Avoid dependence on additional APIs, to avoid conflicts with mods that don't use said APIs
- Everything else mentioned in the description
- Compatibility with Better Than Wolves mod, allowing the substitution of glue in place of slime
Basically, I'm looking for any assistance I can with this, and also trying to gauge what type of demand there would be for such a simple mod. I understand that there are already other mods that do what I am considering, as well as much more, but they all seem to require dependencies that I'm not comfortable with. That, and I'd rather not use a jack hammer when a rubber mallet will suffice. (Meaning that I'm not interested in downloading a mod that adds several features, just to use one.) Once I have an idea of what I'm doing, I'll start a thread over in the WIP section for those who want to assist with development.
Thanks for reading!

I think something cool would be BTF Better then forestry which would work with better then buildcraft
Just my two cents
and ps Love your mod
It's already been made clear that there will be no further "Better Then [X]" mods.

question. I know that rails can be carried up and down on an elevator, but what else can be carried up and down? Can you put redstone on an elevator and have it go up and down as to create circuits that way? or does it pop off onces the elevator starts moving?(would test it myself, but minecraft won't work for me atm... I'm starting go go through withdrawals)
So how exactly does a blood tree farm work? if I plant one, and place a saw at the base of the tree, does the base block continue to regrow? Also, if using a soul sand planter, can I grow nether warts and bloodwood trees in the overworld? Or do I still have to be in the nether?
Redstone, redstone torches, and diodes/repeaters can be placed on a platform, and will stay in place while the elevator is moving, but it will remain inactive until the elevator stops. This means that you can't create "drive by" circuits that are activated as the elevator passes. However, if you stop the elevator where the redstone would become part of a larger circuit, it would function as long as the elevator is still.
As for bloodwood, as far as I know, once the trunk of the tree is cut, it will not regrow. For a good automatic bloodwood farm design, I would recommend Battosay's YouTube channel, as he shows how to build a very efficient one using block dispensers. You can use soul sand planters or regular soul sand to place bloodwood saplings in the overworld, but the sapling won't grow in the overworld unless you use a soul urn on it the same way you can use bonemeal on regular crops. I have never seen, nor heard of netherwart growing in the overworld, however. Both plants grow best, if at all, in the Nether.

MFW people still don't get the grammatical significance of the mod's name:
Mar 4, 2012redrew89 posted a message on [1.2.5] Better Then Buildcraft Add-on: The Vat v1.4Glad to see you're still continuing to support this addon! I'll be sure to update my channel links to point to this thread for the addon.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Feb 24, 2012Is the OP broken? I noticed that I don't see the engine recipes on it.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Feb 17, 2012As a PC user, I can appreciate the way Apple has influenced consumer technology trends quite a lot over the past two decades. Starting with the introduction of the original Apple and Apple 2, computers have become more powerful, intuitive and user-friendly. Apple has always been the company to spark the public's interest in new ideas, starting with personal computing, leading through to the mid-90s, when digital music didn't really catch on, until the iPod arrived. Then, it was back in 2007, when smart phones were reserved for business men, Apple released the iPhone, then the iPad, and suddenly the tablet industry is relevant.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
I choose to use Windows, because it also has a strong presence in computing, not as much for consumer use, but as stronger focus business-class use. In fact, Microsoft could lose half of it's home consumers, and survive. As long as it could retain at least 80% of it's installation base on corporate, government, and school PCs, there would be no problems with them profiting. This is because Microsoft makes technology that allows for centralized access to a number of machines on one network. Apple products can do the same thing, just as Linux systems are able to, but you get the best results in these environments when they are Windows-centric.
TL;DR - Apple makes shiny stuff for the masses to stare at and drool. Microsoft makes products that require you to know how a computer works.

Better then buildcraft? You should have called it harder than buildcraft.
Its no wonder why this mods not very popular. I mean come on. Six diamond to make 4 lousy pieces of diamond pipe that only cost two in BC. That's crazy. Hell you'd have to spend half your life mining just to make some of the BC machines in this mod. I guess it's OK if your playing in creative. Or you like to cheat with TMI or SPC. That's not my game.
I like Better than wolves though. Good job on that one.
The expense of the items is to reflect a sense of progression to building higher-tier items. It's expected that the player would make use of quarries to support the amount of diamonds needed for later projects. You don't have to cheat at all to play this mod, and it doesn't take very long to find diamonds and other "rare" resources if you know how to mine properly.
