Ok, STFU dumass. like the person 2 replies above me, it's an error in code.
they fixed that in a recent PC update. the texture problem isn't a joke, it's a BUG!
The texture is there, the crafting option is there, so there is a wooden
    slab!

posted a message on The Ultimate PE Guide!
Well, here I am!! I will be updating This tutorial guide every now and then!
    First topics:
    How to catch mobs!
    How to find ores!
    How to hex edit!
    how to download maps!

    Mob Catching!

Catching mobs is a classic procedure done since the dawn
of classic PC minecraft. From soul sand to dispensers to lava to water.

    There's always the 2x2x2 hole!
    just push the mob inside!

Fully automatic traps can be easy yet effective!

A Simple way requires hex editing, which we will get into later.
If you don't have the time, or don't know crap about hex editing,
then you can use the slightly less practical way. dig a staircase, a couple blocks away from
a lake. remember to build where mobs are common.
Make a step every 2-3 blocks. then stop the flow
with a solid block. now you have a pen! remember to leave the flow on once your away.

Then there's one I thought of. I'm pretty sure someone else thought of this,
but I'll teach it. Build a 5x5 pen, but with surrounding steps! I did this in a field in my world,
and I caught 3 pigs, 2 chickens, 1 sheep, and 1 cow! Experiment to find more ways!

    Finding ores!

This is a major cliche in the world of minecraft. Pick a certain spot, drill a sloping tunnel,
    and mine!

My personal favorite is The tunneling method,
Basically it's a long tunnel with the area of 4 blocks.
every 2-3 blocks drill a tunnel. But 10 levels above bedrock is where the
    "gold" is!

The quarry method can be the most effective, Most dangerous,
and Most time-consuming method basically a massive 100x100x80 space! it can cost you greatly, but the
    gains outweigh the risks!

Then there's the X-ray mod tactic.i think android and iOS already have X-ray mods but idk if they're
like the PC version, where you see the ores.

    Hex editing!

Learning how to hex edit is as easy as 1,2,3!
Literatly! hex editing is a method of replacing certain digits
with certain values, like 2d with 2e! Some people know some
don't. look up the values on minecraft wiki. TNT is the basics. My favorite is HxD
Use a hex editing program on your device. I recommend myfile or hex editor by tuba.
or, plug in your Idevice to your computer. Using iexplorer or Ifunbox, look
go to applications, go to mojang or minecraft PE
then after a couple folders, youll see the directory.
Then go to library, worlds, then your world to wish to edit.
I set it to automatically open with it, but
if you don't know how to do that, then just drag the file to the desktop.
then open up the program, look around the directory till you find the desktop folder.
select the level. with most editors,
you have a search button. put in 2D, and set it to " hex values"
A highlighted value should come up. use a replace button or backspace to put in
2E. then go Back to your device, force close minecraft PE, then click the world.
The blank spots means you did it right. With a mobile device hex editor, you have
    to go to sdcard/games/mojang/Minecraftpe/library etc..

    How to download maps!

So you've seen the greatest map ever,eh? And you don't know how to
download it? well you've come to the right place.Well, first you should download the
map(s) via mediafire or adfly. Even though they're user published files, viruses
may still be hiding amongst the files. So I recommend using an anti-spyware software.

    What you'll need:
    Iexplorer or Ifunbox
    An empty PE world
    Your map .dat files
    A computer
    Android/ Jailbroken IOS device

This technique is a simple way with few errors. First, make an empty world. Then go back to your file viewer.
(If you have had experience hex editing, then you should know where it is.) Go to the file where you see all of
your worlds. click the one you made earlier.Ok, keeping that window open, go to the folder where your
downloaded maps .dat files are. Delete the .dat files inside the world you made earlier. Now insert
the downloaded maps file into that folder.

Go back to your device. force close and start up minecraft PE again!
you now have a downloaded map!
NOTE: your spawn point may be different, So it look around for it.

Hope this helped! more topics soon!!!

posted a message on zombie mob maxed underground = zombie free PE world
I already did that. use small bits of lava to make it last.
PE won't spawn a zombie in the same area constantly with too many zombies
    in the same area.
with 1x1 lava pools like 30-40 blocks apart, that'll make em last longer!
