Sep 24, 2015rckymtnrfc posted a message on Community Roundtable: BoatsPosted in: News
Why not make them invincible? I don't understand how that breaks the theme of the game. If the desync issues weren't prevalent, then perhaps durability would make sense. As it stands now, you can't avoid hitting things so making the boats break is just punishment for what I consider a bug, the desync issues.
Making boats drop boats when they break? Why? What purpose does that serve besides making me have to place the boat and get back in. Just make them stop when they hit something.
At the very least. Make then stack. Since I have to carry a bunch of boats with me to replace the ones that constantly break....save me some precious inventory space. IRL, boats usually stack together quite well, one inside the other.

There is an obsidian boats mod. It works in lava and gives you a temporary fire resistance buff, I assume so you don't burn to death when you get out of the boat. They are also unbreakable.

Tim - I'm seeing a crash on the server side. Using Forge 1492. http://pastebin.com/qVr8NPRw
Tried it with TinyStorage-1.17.0_117 and your latest Dev and I'm getting the same thing.

I had the same problem. In the Action Center the Tablet Mode button was greyed out. In the Settings>Systems>Tablet Mode the toggle was greyed out. Finally realized you can't have multiple monitors going when in tablet mode. I turned off one of my screens and those settings came back.

Can I suggest again that those who appreciate Ted's mods, perhaps support him via Patreon? Every little bit adds up, so don't feel bad if you can only give a small amount. If we all band together, we'd get him some decent money, I think.
Of course that comes with no guarantee or promises for releases of RWG or his other mods. I donate to Ted because I love his mod. It's one of my favorite mods and I hope that with a little support from myself and others, he might continue. Even if he never does, I am still using the most current release daily when I play, so supporting one of the people that made that play possible seems like a fair trade.
I also don't mean to guilt anyone for not donating. If you can't for whatever reason, then don't. If and when you do want to donate, his Patreon is https://www.patreon.com/ted80.

What? If you just want Vanilla world gen, either remove the mod or don't select Realistic World Gen as the world type. Why would you add a config option to turn off what this mod adds?

It's in the config file (rwg.cfg). Not all of them are implemented yet, fyi.

I think you are looking at the Join Date, not the post date.

Although that is sometimes the case. Patreon does allow creators to give 'rewards' for certainly levels of support. In Ted's case, there are no rewards offered. Therefore, attempting to withhold money to push Ted into do his bidding is not in the spirit of the word support. I am supporting Ted and his modding efforts, he doesn't work for me, I don't get to dictate what he does, and I don't get special benefits. I just offer a little money to let him know I like what he does and I hope he continues.
Granted, if mvincent17781 doesn't want to continue supporting Ted, for whatever reason, he is free to stop at any time. I just didn't particularly agree with the way he worded his comment as if he was dangling a carrot in front of a pig.

Using your donation/support as a bargaining chip is just wrong. If you like what Ted does, support him. If you can afford $10, give $10. Don't hold back money because you think you deserve something.
I support Ted because I want him to continue making his mods....HIS mods, HIS way, HIS timeline. I'm just happy he shares it with the rest of us.
Thanks Ted!

I'm sure more will join over time. There are a lot of younger people who don't have the means to support their favorite mod authors, which is ok. Over time, he'll hopefully get more and more pledges. Then he can spend his days rolling around in money and writing code. =)

I've found mountains, lots of them. While testing all my mods together, I generated many different worlds and ran across mountains often. Just found one last night in the world I'm actually playing in. I'm using BoP along with RWG. You may just be having some bad luck.

Thanks for your mods Ted! I know we can all be a little annoying in here, posting bugs, asking for features, etc. Just wanted to let you know your hard work on something you give away for free is greatly appreciated!

I find it humorous you have to ask for a way to remove the rocks. You already have one. Make a pickaxe and get to work. =)
Personally, I don't mind the rocks at all. Actually, the mossy cobblestone is nice and easy to find now so I can make self repairing tools easier in Tinkers Constructs.
