And when the ceiling blows up and lava begins pouring down slowly, that was epic. Because of the rate of flow you don't immediately die but you have to think quickly to try and survive. I think I did it the wrong way though, because I never found note 6. I ended up going back to where I came in from. Still fun.
Absolutely stunning game. Loved it, but felt it was a little too easy. The good part is that it isn't frustrating and very straightforward with some secrets here and there.
Addressing your spoiler:
I was getting very paranoid by the time I found the Diamond block (fighting off the two mob spawners was really stressful and I ran out of food!) So I figured the block would be rigged and found the second exit before I mined it. I kinda cheated in the last lava room where the skeletons are shooting at you by using dirt (but I only placed it on the lava).
I thought of that, but I feel that it wouldn't be worth it after all the time it would take to fill the tunnel with water. I also saw this thread a while ago with a new boat system, but I haven't seen any tutorials on how to make it.
ethos is doing a LP where he build that with explanations.
And I believe he did a tutorial on this alone as well. Just check out his youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/ethoslab
Sweet! maybe I'll use his system if i ever get my server to work.
OK, so here's what you do. You dont need to fill the whole thing with water, just every few blocks, to get a current going. then use a boat. itll seem just like a minecart on boosts. Diagram:
You could always fill it 1-square deep with water and use boats, other than that, I don't know. Depending on what scale it is on, you could use Nether portals, but they could just be more trouble than they're worth.
[NINJA'D!]
Nether portals sound probable, do you know if notch fixed the glich where 2 portals in the nether would lead to 1 portal on the surface? or vice versa?

I have a 3 by 3 tunnel at bedrock level that goes on forever. It connects all my buildings and I have to walk in the tunnel to get between my buildings. I'm sure I don't have enough resources for a minecart system that long so I'm hoping you guys can give me some ideas on what transportation system I should install.
I voted other because often mountain-side bases are the best tactical choice when first starting a world. For example, I built my first home about 5 blocks above the ground leading into a mountain base so mobs couldn't get me. Later I built a bedrock level base and a separate building which houses my elevator to that base. I may convert the separate building into a house.
I have a similar comp and upgraded the RAM to 1.5Gb and the graphics card to an ATI Radeon 4250 and it runs decently at normal fog distance except when rendering new chunks (goes down to about 20 FPS, damn Pentium 4). This one's Pentium 4 runs at 3 GHz
Another comp that I have has a Pentium 4, but only 512Mb of RAM and a Geforce 5500FX and it runs at about 90 FPS when not rendering chunks. When it renders it goes down to 1-15 FPS. So the obvious bottleneck here is the processor which is unfortunate. This one's runs at 2.4GHz.
So yeah if you get a new graphics card it'll probably run fine, just realize that you'll get annoyed when chunks are rendering.

Thanks for your help :biggrin.gif:.
I also have two elevators using the south-west corner glitch (designed by availn http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=95282) starting at bedrock and going into my buildings.

Edit: Also sky bases are sick :tongue.gif:.
