Guardians in my opinion are way overpowered for how hard it is to combat them in the water, so it'd be great if we had sea creatures we could tame like dolphins or orcas and use them to fight against the Guardians.

Starting to wonder if we will see 1.9 anytime soon. Everything's been awful quiet for a while (although I know the Ebola Game Jam had something to do with that)

Curious why all of these people claiming that this game is going to die because of this and why this "is the last straw" but they are still around, still posting on this thread that has been going strong for months now. I mean, really, as the saying goes, *insert expletive that mods believe is offensive to the viewing audience*, or get off the pot. Or, learn to program and design your own game that you can do with what you like, and then see how easy it is to please a community that is so full of itself sometimes. My last post in this thread, may it be locked soon so we can all move on from this total non-issue.

They need optifine. I don't see why they can't just take inspiration from him and shrink some table sized. FPS++ too. Damage indicators maybe.

The point of minecraft is now to be moddable. Surprisingly few people not play unmodded. Adding in mods would take away some of the changeability it has today.

Agreed. No need to add in a bunch of mods out there as part of Vanilla, that's why I feel the biggest need right now is a proper mod API. Make it easier to develop for Minecraft and I think you see even a bigger proliferation of mods than you currently see, and probably even higher quality mods at that. Although I know it's not horribly hard to develop for it, as someone who writes code on a regular basis I would love to see an official API.

    Quote from webrosc»

this is a drivers issue, not minecraft or java

I had a similar issue with Minecraft after going to 8.1 and it turned out to be related to the installation of Java that I had. So that is why I asked. Always a good idea to rule out simple stuff first, but I would tend to agree this sounds like a graphics card driver issue.

Also, with it being an upgraded system from Windows 7, I have a sneaky suspcion that this is an AMD/ATI based graphics card or chipset. From what I understand (never owned an ATI card but I do have the ability to read and remember stuff :) ) there were some older cards and chipsets from ATI that were supported on Windows 7 ATI drivers but are not supported by current Windows 8.1 ATI graphics drivers. It may be that it simply won't work with the current hardware in Windows 8, using compatibility mode or not. I hope that this is not the case in this situation, but I know that others have had this happen to them.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Minecraft and Java? Also, what graphics card are you using?

I think small servers are worthless, unless there is 50 people on at all times, the server is too small for me. Vanillia minecraft is old and boring, good thing there is FTB, Technic, ect to fill in the void. I dont like cooperative projects, and enjoy running thru whatever mopack I am playing on. Your idea of a great minecraft server is my idea of a bad server. Should I be forced into your playstyle, or you forced into mine? So who should be accommodated here? Why cant we all get along?

The best part of the way it was, if i didnt like a server, there were lots of other choices. The list hasn't become drastically smaller yet, but in 6 months the story will probably be different.

Your idea of a perfect server is apparently unsustainable without violating the EULA, according to most of the posts I've read here. Servers that have continued to violate the EULA should be shut down if they refuse to comply.

And who would fund the servers needed to handle all this traffic? People buying colored titles LOL!!!! Yea my wallett is closed now untill I can buy /kits again. I purchased virtual goods on a frequent basis, but im not donating a penny. Most people who "donated" feel this way. We will all freeload like the rest of you and watch the big servers die. When they go there will be an exodus to the smaller server who wont be able to pay for the increased bandwidth or player load. The slow decay begins.

Or like most servers the EULA will be ignored. I spent a few hours looking over server lists and checking their sites, and my unscientific results say 75% noncompliance is the way it is going. Mojangs worthless " report here and we will do something in private link " is a joke. Without public disclosure of the enforcement activities this just appears to be a slap in the face to compliant servers.

Whats the matter Mojang afraid to show us what the results of your EULA enforcement? Oh yea you aren't doing anything.

I think these huge servers are bad for the Minecraft community and have taken away from what made Minecraft huge in the first place. Small servers with groups of players playing survival cooperatively or doing big creative projects. I don't get the appeal of a 100+ person server personally and don't think it really adds to the quality of the community at all. What it does is ends up spawning stuff like what we hear about $500.00 diamond swords.

i call this, 'Minecraft is Starving'

Look what you did, mojang, minecraft is losing players.

Loosing its own water, The CraftBukkit

    Your loosing your servers.

Minecraft was alive from 1.6.4, but now its getting worse and worse. Me, as a Coder, What you did about the code in 1.7 was really stupid. Mojang is running its own game. they only want money.

Minecraft servers are one of the essentials in minecraft, 80% plays multiplayer, im not talking about vanilla, im talking about CraftBukkit, Spigot ect.

    - "Mojang, Think before you act. Dont act your own, Take advice from your players." -Badie

First, minor quibble but loosing != losing. "Your loosing your servers." and "You're losing your servers." mean two totally different things (the first indicating an event in which wild, rabid servers are set loose to attack humanity at best and a fundamental lack of proper grammar at worst).

Second, there are north of 100 million users registered on Minecraft.net and well north of 50 million total copies sold between all platforms. Minecraft appears to be alive and well.

Third, servers that have been violating the EULA and taking advantage of people by providing P2W environments can burn in a massive explosion for all I care.

Minecraft could stand to lose (not loose) a vast majority of its large servers and probably be better off for it, not worse off.

Have you guys ever noticed that only the big servers have complied to the EULA because they are the most at risk because their bigger?

Tell me one server, that isn't big, that has complied to the EULA. dgpvp.com/youtube.com/diehlgames says that hes never going to comply to the eula and if he does get his server shut down/sued, he has very good lawyers.

I doubt he has better lawyers than Notch. Notch got Bethesda to blink on the Scrolls issue, and you can bet that had nothing to do with a Quake challenge. The fact that Bethesda backed off and made a licensing agreement with Mojang had everything to do with lawyers. I'd love to see that case on Court TV

Hah well now it's not doing it and I haven't disabled anything. One thing I think I noticed today though is it only seems to do it once per day no matter how many times I have visited the site. Going to test out a few things with it tomorrow and see if I can figure out what extension is causing it.
