no, i cant place a block there, because the game knows that the block is there, just not its face
example, its similar to when you have a torch on the block infront of another block, you can select the block behind, but not place a block where the torch is, because there is already a block there, be it one you can get past
i was talking to my sister today, i meantioned minecraft, and long story short:
an idea to make lynxes both (even more) different than wolves as well as worth the extra effort of getting string instead of bones
when you sleep in a bed, if your lynx has access to your bed, when you wake up, you will find a random item, usually a pretty bad item (something equivilent to the dead bird that barncats will leave for you).
this wouldnt be too overpowerd, because the item would only have a really really rare chance of being something good, and after sleeping, you have to wait 12 minutes for it to become night again, so you cant just sleep-spam to get alot of items.
its not game breaking, as you can still select other faces, but it is a major annoyance when I am building up in the sky, and can suddenly not place the block anymore
Curious. Will there be different colored crystals, and if so would it be possible to change the color of the redstone torch (or the light given off by it)?
different colors would be nice, but two things:
1: harder to program / takes more reasorces (minecraft only has room for 256 unique block ids)
2: i found this out while trying to draw some sample pictures, if i gave them any hue, they ended up looking eitehr too similar to diamonds, or too much like rupees from loz (although, that's probably just because of my drawing style, i am used to doing art for the zelda classic editor)
1: zombies, due to a bug, can only hurt you if they are above you. if you tested if you can be hurt by using them, that could be your problem
2: did you edit your health up to a high number? if your health is above 20 (1 point for each half heart) the game will always show you having 10 hearts until you take enough damage to get it lower than 20
and also, i have no qualms at all about people giving themselves super armor when building, I currently am making a super project 60 to 50 meters above the ground, making much use of the shift key, and sometimes due to a bug and sometimes due to my fingers getting tired, i fall. if i had to trek all the way back there every time i fell, i would probably give up. so, i gave myself some armor with negative damage value (as well as a golden shovel with negative damage to clear away all the dirt)
I like the idea of scary monsters in the Nether, but I already have my hands full with the Ghasts... I'm already a wimp who turns his game to "Peaceful" whenever he wants some Glowstone... I just can't handle them. If there were Hellhounds, I'd like Ghasts to be either weaker or less common (or both...)
really? i've only once been swarmed by ghasts, the rest of the time they leave me alone. they only become a threat if you stay in the neather long enough for many to spawn (which makes since, the longer you stay in a plan of existence you are not intended to be in, the more the locals notice you and want to get rid of you)
although i will admit that it is easier to get bones than string if you just go out right after dawn to collect drops, but then again, if you go out in day, you can find spiders who wont hurt you and you can burn them away

also, buckets are a common item in dungeons
and once you make a bucket, you have a bucket forever, it doesnt wear out or break

although, of course, i'm not going to push that it be in 1.4, as i want to have my pet wolf soon!

this picture should help demonstrate:
notice the face that my cursor is pointing to is ignored, and instead the block behind is highlighted.
does anyone have a clue as to what may be the cause of this?
note: only modification to any game file currently is using an inventory editor to give myself some items needed for my super projects

the coding would also be changed to what i stated above. (climbing trees and avoiding water and only attacking enemies if they attack you)
i suppose that this does make lynxes a bit unbalanced, so any suggestions to fix that?
