Apr 16, 2014Potion bottles only have 5 pixels of empty space in them. The coding for the animation would be a lot of work for the use of 5 pixels. Not to mention it is something that most people wouldn't even notice unless it was pointed out to them.Posted in: Suggestions

Is there some actual reasoning or evidence behing this or are you spouting nonsense for your own fun?
Yeah you can get on any computer/PC gaming forum and see dozen and dozens of people discussing it with posted info on builds and OC issues. AMD at one point even admitted the 6-cores don't overclock as well as the 4 and 8 cores.
Like I said I own a 6 core and I am an admitted fanboy of AMD but if you are overclocking skip the 6-cores.

So if you didn't like something in an update, you'd hate yourself? I happen to like myself, and I feel horses ruined the game. They're too realistic. Pig riding is more MInecraft than Horse riding.
wow. What exactly is more "Minecraft"?
Apr 15, 2014Take it from someone that actually owns a AMD 6-core prosessor. DON'T get it if you plan on overclocking at all. They get unstable quick. You'd be better off with a 4-core than a 6. Their is a reason why big time overclockers use either the 4 or 8 cores. And most actually like the 4 cores better.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology

Because it's not like we can do this with the water bucket already.
...oh wait, we can. Water bucket is even more powerful than wool with my idea. You can use it to save you from falls, as an elevator both up and down, a way to turn lava lakes into walkable surfaces, a way to keep mobs away from you... etc etc. All wool would do is require you to place it down right before hitting the ground. Are you suggesting the water bucket should be removed from the game, for reasons similar as to why my wool idea shouldn't be in the game?
That's exactly why we don't need wool to do it to. Thanks for aiding in what I was conveying.

Personally i think, if anything, that furnaces shouldn't burn for as long as they already do.
Making burning times longer just makes the game easier. I can't see a reason for needing longer burn times.
Apr 15, 2014What I meant was 25 frames a second is the lowest your eyes can see without it looking like pictures.Posted in: Discussion
And yes some games have always be optimized for high frame rates but up until about 10 years ago that was the exception not the rule.
Guess I shouldn't be arguing merits of high frame rates with kids who weren't even born when I started gaming. My bad guys.

Makes sense. Won't harm gameplay in any way, and probably won't waste too much time. The only bad thing is that it might be difficult to make the differnce between Melon blocks and Glistering Melon blocks.
EDIT: 2800th post! Only 200 until Glowstone Miner rank!
im sick of hunting ghasts
There's a great difference between Glistering Melon blocks, and Spider Eye blocks. I don't think anyone would be crazy or stupid enough to stuff up Spider eyes, Arrows, Gunpowder or Nether Warts into blocks, but it makes sense to combine Glistering Melons into a block.
Geez, some non-supporters sometimes are so desesperate to shoot down an idea that they use a really weird argument against it.
Redstone dust can be crafted into a block and it's dust. Why shouldn't gunpowder which is essentially explosive dust be able to be crafted into a block.
Apr 15, 2014I don't like it. It would completely take away worry of falling. Just keep a piece of wool in your hot bar and every time you fall off a cliff or into a ravine spam click so it places the block right before you hit. Takes a fatal fall and turns it into just a heart or two of damage? That's game breaking to me. The game is easy enough as it is.Posted in: Suggestions
Also if you're worried about falling couple blocks down in your own house then you should plan it better.
Apr 14, 201425 frames a second is normal. It's how movies are made and it's how we see life though our eyes.Posted in: Discussion
Only in the modern age of PVP war games and racing games has high frame rates been considered so important. If you look at many games still today the frame rate is locked at 30.
360 and PS 2 were both locked at 30 for a long time till later in their lives when 45 was "unlocked" but even then very few games used it. So 25 frames a second isn't all that bad. Just not what the masses now are used to.

It just kinda kept going in one direction until it unspawned.
That's what they do. They bounce around typically in one direction till something stops them or they see a player. If the village is near a swap it's likely that is spawned right outside the swamp "on the other side of the river" as you described it. I've got a 11 block wide river separating my home from a jungle and I get Ocelots spawning on the non-jungle side of the river. I would think the same could happen for slimes.
Apr 14, 2014For headphones go with the Pioneer SA-1000 cans. 200 dollar headphones clearanced for $70 bucks because Pioneer can't market themselves out of a paper bag.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
For mice go with the Logitech g500 or Razer Sidewinder. The Sensei has the loudest click of any mouse I have ever used I bought one from Micro Center and wound up returning it because I thought something in it was broken. The Logitech is quieter than the Razer.
As for mat. I personally use several different ones depending on what I am doing but getting a dual sided mat might be good for you. You didn't list what your main uses are going to be so I don't know where to lean with with reco's.

I'm thinking about purchasing a dedicated CD Player because the Blu-Ray Player built in my HTS receiver doesn't sound good when playing CDs.
There can be lots of difference. Difference DACs different lenses, etc.

What doesn't sound good to me is my wallet shaking at the thought of spending more money on a CD drive/player when it'll sound the exact same as a Blu-Ray drive/player.
Either way, it'll likely sound the same from both, it's just that a CD won't sound as good as a Blu-Ray as it doesn't have 5.1 surround like a movie from a Blu-Ray disc has.
Music was NEVER intended to be listened to in surround sound. Music has always been a front facing listening experience. Why do you think stereos are still 2.1 setups and why do you think SACDs (5.1 surround sound) failed when they were introduced. 5.1 and higher has always been for movies and more recently gaming to make you feel immersed in the movie/game.
To the OP if you are unhappy with your current CD player look for a different one. Do some online research. Go on some audio related forums and ask questions to people that actually know what they are talking about. AudioKarma is a good site (where I am).

Any movie (of any quality) would have to have more than one main character. Even movies like Castaway had other stuff going on. I mean a movie about a guy living alone in the wilderness where everything wants to kill you and your only companionship is wild animals and said creatures that want to kill you has pretty much been done before by every settler that moved west during the great expansion. So just watch the history channel.
