posted a message on Run Minecraft without OpenGl supported Graphics Card
    Quote from Starport592»
I've got this portable Minecraft launcher. It's mine, meaning I made it. I used to distribute it until it started comming up as a virus. I was re-writting it, but I've gotten lazy. I am really close to finishing it--

    Ahh sorry. Not the point.

Basically, I plugged my flash drive into a computer at school.

    Ok.

I open up Minecraft with my launcher and log in. It loads, then closes.

    *Maybe it's my launcher?

I copy the Minecraft.exe onto the desktop and run it locally. The same thing happens.

After running around on the interwebs, I found that THE GRAPHICS CARD WAS ANCIENT.

Intel Radon X6000 or something like that.

A computer graphics class. With a horrible graphics card. '_'

*And yet Halo and GTA run just fine.

Whatever. So I'm scrambling around on the internet trying to find ways. I'm an addict, and I search for about half a year. (Only started comp graphics this year.)

There are viable solutions on there, but they require administrator privileges.

    Great.

And then today, I found mesa.

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7310885/opengl-without-a-graphics-card

Now, I haven't gotten the chance to test this on the school computer, but I HAVE tried it at home.

It appears to work. Granted, my graphics card at home can support OpenGl, but when I place the dll from the mesa download into the same folder as Minecraft.exe and run it, it seems to run slower.

    *However, it is STILL PLAYABLE.

I am very excited and am posting to see if anyone else could try this?

I am very eager to know.

minecraft REQUIRES opengl its a rendering system that it runs off of and therefore can not run unless you have opengl and accelerated graphics support. if you dont have it then you dont have minmecraft. unless youre able to change its rendering system to directx then MAYBE but ive never seen that tried or done before. so , no opengl = no minecraft.

think of directx and opengl as intel and amd. they are two different rendering systems all on their own wether a game is more graphic instensive or not doesnt matter its just how a game runs some run graphics heavy others run cpu heavy some play on directx other opengl. thats why yoiu run into issues like this. its your hardware so unless you update it change it get new stuff it will be broken.

I uninstalled minecraft like a million times and still its crashing on launch. Please help me, hopefully you can make sense of the log below. Also if you need any more info, please ask.

    Here is the first time.

woah thats a new error have never seen that before but i do know the CMS is deprecated thing has been showing up for awhile now and has never cause me any problems using it or not using it. its just a jvm argument and either your game will use it or it wont use it flagged or not it wont stop your game from starting as far as i know

it looks like your java needs updating and you need to update your drivers. this may help before you click that link make sure its the right chipset. i can help you further if you could please put your dxdiag report here.
to get to your dxdiag prest windowskey+r save all information then save that file somewhere you can get to it the copy paste it here in spoilers would be nice.

posted a message on Severe Lag When Joining Server, leads to time out

    Hey guys and gals,

I need a bit of assistance with a persistent issue. For a while now, I have had severe lag on my friend's server that she hosts. There are four or five of us who play occasionally; Me, my girlfriend, her sister (the host), and two other friends. When I join, it's one steady lag fest until I finally time out or lose connection. I have tried updating everything (Router, modem, etc.), I've reduced all the graphical assets to the lowest they can go, I've plugged right into my router/modem, and everything I've seen suggested, but nothing seems to cure it.

I'll provide all the info I can about the server and clients that seems important.

The world seems very slow to load as well, I have a similar issue in single player, but it loads instantly and there isn't much much lag.

I'm using a newer Alienware laptop, Netgear router and modem, Comcast broadband. The client is installed on my solid state hard drive, fastest drive I have available. Most, if not all, the network power I can give to it is here. I NEVER have lag on any other game like Battlefield, etc. Client is fully updated, Hamachi is fully updated.

Host is on an newer Alienware, all their stuff it up to date. Her and my girlfriend are on the exact same internet connection and never have an issue. They have modded clients (as does everyone but me who plays) and never have an issue.

Gal pal is using similar laptop to mine, same network as host, no issues.

The two other friends are using misc hardware, no issues.

We ALL use LogmeinHamachi as a tether interface to play on the server. Currently, the map we use has been altered with command blocks and artificial villagers and etc. Everyone but me is typically in creative mode, I stay in survival. (I supposedly have "behavioral issues", lol)

ANY and ALL help that you kind and loving people of the Minecraft community can give is extremely welcome and extremely appreciated. :)

sounds like internet speed. she should do a speedtest and see if her internet is fast enough to host. 5-6 upload is usually what you want.

IS 1.8 Totally lagging for you:

GET SOME R.A.M- 5GB should do good. :D

I have 16GB ram and it is TOTALLY FINE xD

after 1.7.9 or even earlier than that its really a whole hardware issue. legacy problems. not ram either minecraft runs oon 1gb of ram even less ive ran it with 256 mb of ram on an xp computer although it wasnt 1.8 it was no opengl2 support on that dinosaur but minecraft is a cpu heavy game. although there have been reports of water lag and water temple lag. looking at huge bodies of water or being near a water temple could lag or even crash games

from what ive seen this usually happens when youre trying to load a mod pack and you either have the wrong forge loaded so its throwing an error saying forge is bad so you need to get the right one for your mods. OR your modpack although is shared doesnt have this file modpack.pack? i think it was. probably not though but its a file that tells your game what order how to open and handle the modpack in question. you cant just drop a modpack into your game and watch it do its thing. it needs a file thats gives it a load order

Systemrequirementslab confirmed only my RAM is a problem for Minimum Requirements which is fine by me. Does OpenGL thingy is related to this problem may I ask? I still have the classic game cs1.6 and when I launched it, it turned out that I can't run in OpenGL mode..

ive said you need to lower your ram . allocate less youve only got 1.8 gb of ram. half of which is being used by the OS. which is not letting you run minecraft. if you add the java argument to make minecraft run with less than 1gb. try chaning it to -Xmx500M -Xms500M and seeing what happens. older versions of minecraft prior to 1.7.1 will allow you to play them without any openGL issues the upgrade was done at 1.7.2.minecraft uses openGL no matter what its ust after 1.7.2 the openGL was updated from OGL 1 to OGL 2 and some older hardware is not compatible with that. although the graphics MAY be outdated if it still doesnt work youre giong to have to update it. yo say youve installed them and done what you needed to do perfectly so ill assume your things are up to date and should be working properly. so lower the ram needed for minecraft in its arguments play an older version of minecraft and if youve done everything perfectly your minecraft should run.

    To add on :

Apparently I can play Tekkit/Technic Pack and all of that super pack modded minecraft normally BUT a pure minecraft..

    EDIT:

    nvm..spoke too soon..

try turning off your massive texture pack. could be loading too many things also lower the allocated ram for minecraft. try playing a minecraft version at 1.7.1 instead of 1.8. get the latest catalyst from AMD. check if your processor needs updating...as well openGL and LWGL can cause problems. also your cpu is quite old 2009 is when that one came out check and see if you cpu is even supported by minecraft anymore. also you have a 64 bit OS try installing the 64 bit java. it will allow you to use higher increments of ram and allocate things on your computer alot better with it.

    ok, thanks.

agreed prolly wont get it to run although you can set it up as a minecraft server box. if its an old computer and just laying arioun dits always nice to have a server from an old computer and to add on. you could try allocating less ram to start minecraft, minecraft need atleast 1gb but you can lower that. i have done it before on old XP systems i started minecraft with less than 200mb of ram before. youve got 1GB for the entire system it MAY run but it wouldnt be pleasant.

posted a message on Minecraft LAN server without internet?

i found some servers and i press join server and the it saing to me :faild to login invalid session ( try restarting your game)

and i cant join any other servers

can you answer me whats going on?

thre is two reasons this would happen either youre logged into minecraft on another computer or youre using a cracked client. make suer youre not logged into any other computer or your account hasnt been compromised you can change your password and info on minecraft.net. if youre using a cracked client then there is nothing you can do. cracked clients can not play online on non cracked server buy the game or find a cracked server.
