I'm kinda confused by this.. what practical uses does it have, and what is the author using it for?

That's what it does, it uses plugin channels to display on the client regions which are selected on the server. If it was server-side you wouldn't see anything.

Worth noting there is this however: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/worldedit-selection-visualizer/

So not only am I new to this but I'm basically computer illiterate. I tried downloading the mod for 1.7.10, followed the instructions, and when I tried to load my save file it crashed. This is what popped up. Do you know what I am doing wrong?

Yes; you are attempting to use a mod for Minecraft 1.6.2 on Minecraft 1.7.10. You will need to switch to 1.6.2 for it to work.

Sad to see such a nice mod die .

I am working on my own mod that includes the noclip and reach command to work with the new world edit for forge . :-)

EDIT: I managed to remove all worldedit support from the SPC-5.2 version and just leave in most of the commands now works beautifully with the new and updated worldedit made for forge . :-)

An updated version of SPC for Minecraft 1.6.4 is still in progress, I've just been very busy lately.
In addition, I am currently working on a new commands mod for 1.7.10, which I plan to backport.

I've loved and utilized this mod for years now. However, I've been unable to get it to work with Tekkit 1.6.4. I know that mods aren't specifically supported, but I was wondering if anyone has figured how to get 1.6+ to work with Tekkit (or other Technic mod packs that are 1.6+.)

    Thanks!

Interesting. I think the best way to address this will be for me to just make SPC a Forge mod.

    Hey ples, maj for 1.7.10 ? :)
    Il love you mod

An update for 1.7.10 will be coming soon, especially if Rockyroxay provides more details about their issue :P
In the mean time, I think it's likely that the 1.7.2 version a page or so back would still work. Try it and tell me the result.

Basically, I'm re-writing it from scratch. Don't expect a release any time soon.

In the mean time, I have started work on a new commands mod for LiteLoader.
An initial version will probably be out by the end of the month.

very pretty ^^ really makes oceans less dull, i guess.

Althrough just wondering, i think there's a "glitch" in mine (using 1.6.4)
Coral seems to generate on world creation, in deserts/mesa and on land.. It looks weird. There isn't any water over it, so i have no clue what this is lol, but it lights up the place, i guess?

What other mods are you using, and could you provide some screenshots? Thanks.

    Quote from Krephon

Are all the commands there? I know Spc has a //setspawn command but Wew doesnt have it. Do you plan on adding that function? Also the above Crash report he needs help because he downloaded World edit Wrapper and gotten a crash report upon loading it. It's your duty to help player with crash reports that have to do with your mods.

This mod is exclusively for WorldEdit functionality. I'm working on a LiteLoader mod which will add new commands. Also, the above crash report looks like an issue with incorrectly installed FML, so it isn't reasonable for Mumfrey to know how to help.

Do we know if this is still being worked on?

There doesn't seem to be any official word from the creator recently.

To clarify: I am not asking or pressuring for it to be updated. I am just asking if we know if the mod is still active, or if it is dead.

It is not actively being worked on. I'm working on a final 1.6.4 release that will include an installer.

Okay so I got it to spawn in rivers but, only in very deep rivers. How can I make it spawn higher then Y=56 like Y=60?

You can't really. If the river isn't very deep, there's likely not enough room for the coral to generate.

Is there a more detailed description of what XCommands can do? Like w commands it has? Is it comparable to SPC in one way or another?

It has most of the commands that SPC has, as well as a few that it doesn't. Commands are shown in the built-in console, so I would generally recommend using that as command lists may be outdated.
