I had found the stronghold, surrounded by the slots to put the pearls, guarded by the usual spawn for those little "critters" (mites I think), which spawn. However, no pearls to put in the slots. So the reason if obvious, nothing gives the pearls to put in the slots, because no ender world (ender dragon, etc).
I just wish there was a repository where one could find a list (though I know it is a beta version).
If anyone knows, could you tell me if the ocean monument is present in the windows 10 editiion of minecraft? I am trying to find it and do not see it. Also, it seems that I have killed some 10 enderman and they do not drop ender pearls; they drop nothing. Pearls are still needed for building the ender portal I would imagine.
You guys need to be patient and understand the odds. 1/8 chance doesn't mean you will hatch a chicken so commonly, once , for me , it took me 3 stacks of eggs to get one, and i once got 4 chickens from a single egg.
bakugo thanks; and thanks to all. I think patience is the key here. I do have the wheat and would try it, the only problem is that unfortunately my base and portals, etc., is like in an island, surround by water and everything is far. My bad, in making the base there. Anyway, I will keep plugging away. I did build a railway with a cart and now learning to put pistons to try and "transport" them there.
Did you sleep in math? Or are you too young to know?
Does a coin flip automatically give you head with at least every second throw?
Well, the problem really still remains. I have thrown now some 22 eggs in a hole, on top of a bed in the house, in a fenced in area, in the water and I guess that is about it. No chickens from eggs. Coin flip theory still out the window. I have two different areas with chickens fenced in very far from base and they produce the eggs, but I want the farm in my base area and the only way is through the eggs, I can't get the chickens to my area, too much water in between.
Theres a chance a chicken will come out of a thrown egg. Which means not all the time.
I should have posted here my question. So in reality, eight or more should at least give you one chicken. My problem is that in my world everything is common except those little critters. I have two eggs, so I have to keep hunting.
I finally bred sheep, pretty neat. However, I throw chicken eggs (I have two); I save the game and wait and the two eggs never hatch (1.9), they just disappear. I thought there was like a thirty three percent chance they would, but this is like a zero percent. What am I doing wrong?
One thing I never understood why are we breeding chickens if they can just lay ends and how does them breeding make sense anyway..
I know it makes no sense, I just like to see it; make like a chicken farm; no real reason. For me it is just fun to watch. But can't seem to get the whole thing started.

you`re doing it wrong, youre not supposed to force update but you have to download it from the minecraftfourms home page its somewhere there or google it. Second you know the appdata and roaming and .minecraft folder stuff right? In the bin it doesnt show 1.8 its just minecraft, when you download it just take it and replace the current jar file. Make sure the minecraft jar you downloaded is name minecraft not minecraft 1.9. Once you done that youre good :biggrin.gif: if your confused just do google tutorials.
Bound, thanks for the reply. I posted just above where you replied (I forgot I had posted the problem again), and did exactly what you suggested. Thanks again for your time! :tongue.gif:

Thank you; that explains it.
