Jun 27, 2013NOTICEPosted in: Java Edition Support
I'm going away for around two months and won't have access to internet. I will not be able to update this to 1.6 unless MCP comes out with a version soon. Sorry.
If anyone wants to post the fix in this post while I'm away that knows how to, that would be great. Thanks.

Could you upload a direct download? Mediafire won't let me connect to it.
I don't think mcf supports attachments, but I could be wrong. I'm not sure why mediafire wouldn't allow you to connect.

You need to close Minecraft
It didn't work for me:/ First I put it and then put deleted meta-inf and I didn't work, I did it the other way round and it looked like normal but still kicked me. HELP!
Kicked you? I don't remember that ever being a problem. Can you be more specific?
Also, Everyone else, thanks for the wonderful comments. It keeps me updating it (even though it's pretty small). I'm glad you all still benefit from it.
Mar 14, 2013Is anyone still experiencing this problem in 1.5? It seems as if it has been fixed, mojang added a timeout. If people are still experiencing the problem however, I'll just update it to 1.5.Posted in: Java Edition Support

Make sure minecraft isn't running before trying to edit the minecraft.jar
Also, for all those saying stuff about Nodus and other mod compatibility, I won't be providing it, simply because of the simplicity of this "mod". I'm 99.9% sure you can use a mod loader to load this as well as other mods perfectly fine.
And, as always, thanks for all the support!

Thanks! I dont really understand how it works though. I did realise that the problem was with 1.3, the problem started when I updated.
As stated in the OP, the problem has to do with java files that do not exist (for one reason or another). Java has a internal timeout, and that's why it is taking so long.

does this work for feed the beast
Since Feed The Beast is just a collection of mods, it should. However, you may want to use a mod loading system so the two mods do not conflict with eachother.

Dude, thank you SOOOOO much! I've had this problem ever since the update to 1.3 and it was annoying, since the server I play on restarts every 3 hours, the constant rebooting was driving me nuts! After months of being annoyed, i've found the cure! You have made it to my Favorites list!
P.S: Will you be updating this to 1.5 when it is released, because I really don't want to have to constantly reboot again. I just want some confirmation or something that this will be updated for 1.5 so that I have nothing to worry about.
No problem, glad to make people happy :). I will be updating this (as far as I know) until Mojang fixes this themselves.
If you're installing it correctly, there's nothing I can do about it. Your problem is probably elsewhere. Did this happen to you before 1.3.1? Hopefully your problem will be fixed soon.
Jan 3, 2013Glad you all enjoy this, hopefully in the near versions Mojang will fix this.Posted in: Java Edition Support
For all those who it isn't working for, there are two possibilities:
A) You aren't installing it right, take these steps in order:
1. Download the class file for the corresponding version of minecraft.
2. Open the Minecraft.jar in an archiving program (WinRAR, WinZip, 7Zip, etc.)
3. Delete the META-INF folder (this is crucial, if this isn't done Minecraft will crash on start-up)
4. Drag the class file into the archive, if prompted for permission to override, click yes.
5. Start up Minecraft.
If it still isn't working look up a video tutorial on how to install mods (perhaps someone can make a video tut of this (not necessary)).
If after all that it still isn't working, the problem may reside somewhere else. Chances are I won't be able to make a fix for this because I don't have anything to test it against (I myself had this problem also). You will probably have to wait until Mojang resolves this issue in the near future.
Dec 21, 2012Not sure about other ways, you may be able to download the classes, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm pretty sure it either has to do with the Java version, the OS (windows, mac, linux), or 32-bit or 64-bit.Posted in: Java Edition Support
The classes are: java.naming.factory.initial, com.sun.jndi.dns.DnsContextFactory and java.naming.provider.url
