or, sometimes Java will just stop responding. Minecraft usually lasts a couple seconds while I'm in a world before it finally gives out. It wont happen in the main menu though as long as I do not enter a world. Prior to it crashing, the only problems I've had with Minecraft was a world hole that engulfed the entire world. I usually had to re-log several times to fix it, and even then it didn't always work. I've updated java, moved the .minecraft folder and forced it to re install itself, looked for updates for my graphics drivers, and restarted Minecraft several billion times. Does anyone have a fix for this, or at least have a similar problem?

What does it say before that part you selected? Give us the complete log.

    Bad idea no support

It doesn't make sense for a tool to randomly stop working but stay intact. How would it not work? You got a pickaxe, you use it as a pickaxe. The only thing that would stop you is if it was broken. It can't just prevent itself from moving or making itself invincible.

posted a message on About the minecraft versions..
The servers reject wrong versions so the only way to do that is to modify your client to appear to be a version that is compatible with the server.

If you connect to a 1.5.2 server with 1.8.1, then if you get an item in 1.8.1 that does not exist in 1.5.2, like Prismarine, it would either disappear or change into another block. If you connect to a 1.8.1 server with 1.5.2 then new blocks would probably appear as a purple-and-white checkered block, or else it would crash.

I just remembered that 1.8 uses alphanumeric IDs while older versions use numerical IDs... I think this causes problems with entities and tile entities but not blocks. So if you encounter a creature or open a chest, you may crash.

Oh, I just remembered another thing.
1.7.5 and later identifies players by UUIDs, not their names, so it may just not work at all.

What IP addresses are you using? You connect using localhost and others connect using your internal IP/Hamachi IP however that works

    Quote from EnderLord123»

Thank you, that works, I can play 1.7.2. But do you think there would be any other way to use minecraft 1.8? I really want to get back to playing servers with friends. If not, I'll look elsewhere, but, thanks anyway.

There's nothing you can really do besides getting a new computer or GPU, which ironically you have already done. You could try using Ubuntu on it but the necessary up-to-date drivers may not exist.

Is this an old, used computer that you bought from ebay or something, or is this a brand new computer from 2014?

If it is a desktop PC, then you can just get a new (and better) graphics card for it. If it's a laptop or a compact desktop without PCI slots... well then you are out of luck.

Disney killed Jellycar "to work on other things" so I wouldn't be surprised if they killed Minecraft.

    Quote from ranshaa»
I need a 1.8 minecraft server but i can't find the download for it in minecraft site, only 1.8.1. can someone give me the link for 1.8 plese?

Mojang stores all versions on their server(s).

This is the link to 1.8.1:
    https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.8.1/minecraft_server.1.8.1.jar

To get 1.8, just replace all "1.8.1" with "1.8":
https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.8/minecraft_server.1.8.jar <-- This is the one you want

You can also get any other version, such as 1.5.2:
    https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.5.2/minecraft_server.1.5.2.jar

Are you forwarding to the right internal IP? Does it start with 192.168? Is the "server-ip=" in server.properties blank? (It's supposed to be.)

Well if you don't have wood then the only way to get out of there would be to run around (in the dark) until you find an exit to the outside.

Go in the Logs folder and post the contents of latest.log.

if you are launching the server with a batch script, be sure to have PAUSE in it, or just launch the exe directly.

By HD you mean you will make it more realistic by adding some random variation to the colors to make texture, rather than one bug solid color?

posted a message on New default JVM args in new launcher (1.5)!
    Quote from TheMasterCaver»
It is worth noting that Java 8 does not recommend using the "-XX:+CMSIncrementalMode" argument and will give a warning if you use it, saying it is deprecated and will be removed in a future version (as noted here); given this, it is sort of odd that Mojang added it.

What exactly does that special garbage collector do? Why did Mojang add that?

Java is incapable of using 512GB of ram as it is a VM. If you have some kind of daisy chained mobo with 64 slots for memory, then you have no legitimate reason to post a question like that, especially on minecraftforums, as you should know more than everyone here about memory management applications to have a rig that custom.

It didn't actually use 512GB ram and I didn't have that much RAM. I just allocated that and it said it was allocated in the F3 menu, but in the Activity Monitor it only used like a gigabyte or two.

    posted a message on Banners
    Quote from tile_version_2»
if a person talks about a creeper on this website; you probably think about a green exploding creature; not a creepy guy irl. this applies to people asking for things like this. it is generally expected that sombody who is asking about a banner is talking about a minecraft banner. your logic is quite flawed.

I assumed he wanted a banner for his signature or something. He could have used any banner maker to make something Minecraft related. Now bugger off before I loose my temper.
