I wish minecraft had a medium density tree biome... You go from trees so thick you can barely walk through them... or could jump from tree to tree.. to plane and desert biomes where you wont find a single tree...
Or you can live in the swamps with some trees but ugly terrain colors.
Man I love Minecraft and love updates even more. Since the code freeze has been in effect I cant help but think of how boring its been with the lack of updates.
And after all the surprises at minecon, the huge updates will start to dwindle as the game finally settles into place.
Could these be the last exciting days of Minecraft?
Aliens want our resources.... so Notch will create alien beings that want our natural resources.
-They will spawn randomly, set up shop and start drilling (looking for natural resources)
-They think Steve is just a nuisance a minor earth being.
-They will land out side your house, murder or abduct your farm animals, ran sack your house..
-They are silent, but when their ship lands you can see bright space ship lights flashing through your windows.
-You will need potions to aide in the battle.
-They will have ray guns.
They seek refuge in the cloud lands, and are very vulnerable there.
I know how to install the patches (simply swap out the .jar files). I load up just fine and can play an existing level, but I cant create anything new. It simply crashes the game.
I even downloaded a clean version of minecraft and getting the same results.

You walk outside and you find these terrain blocks with huge foot prints walking off into the distance, trees have been smashed, animals killed, you know something big is lurking out there but you dont know what.
Your excavating around your home and a random block drops some random human remains (bones), you found several in the area... you dont think anything about it and you build your house... then one night ghosts start to appear, they open doors, blow out torches, and are a general nuisance.
To get rid of them you got make a potion etc.
zombies can throw rocks and break windows-- just thought this would be cool.
I built my house on a cliffs edge, 3/4 of the walls have sheer face sheer cliffs and the front my house has a cozy fence, small garden and its safe enough for me to NEVER CLOSE my doors. Great design.. maybe... but it does not create enough fear, im just too safe.
A bit of excitement happens when I look at a enderman and they start spawning near me, but that's about it.
What I want is fear!!
1. I want someone or something to rattle my doors, trying to get in.
2. I want a random window to break from a rock.
3. I want to be threatened by fire (maybe).
Bottom line is I dont wont want to feel 100% safe, even is the fear is more emotional than an actual threat.
If you want to know of this fear read the book I am legend, where the protagonist is emotionally/physiologically tortured by the sounds of the undead as they call his name, pound on the doors of his house and try to attack each night.

Today I built a Nether Portal on pre release 4 and played my older world and no structures were in my neither world...
