BananaPup posted a message on MineCraft Server RequestHi there, I am getting ready to launch a new hosting company and would like to sponsor you as we are looking for a few servers to advertise us in the MoTD and on their website. I can give you everything you requested including 10 MySQL databases and cPanel web hosting. We offer Multicraft rather then mcmyadmin. Start a PM with me if you'd like to do this. I can offer you a choice of St Louis, US or Germany locationPosted in: Hosting Requests -

Hunter_Thompson posted a message on Ideal Seed for Epic-Sized Builds (and a Village)! 1.2.5The seed is as follows:Posted in: Seeds

This seed spawns you in a nice, flat grassland, very ideal for insanely huge builds, if you're into that sort of thing. Not too far away, there's a village. Yeah... That's about it. But, hey, flat land! Don't see that often, do you? Don't forget to post pictures and, if I typed the seed incorrectly, to say so and I'll retype it.
The quest for flat seeds continues...
Post pictures, please! Not like there's much to see, though... -

SpitefulFox posted a message on Why do mods not work with newer versions of minecraft?Notch does something to his code called obfuscating. It renames all methods and classes into random gibberish. If you were to decompile Minecraft's code, you'd get an incomprehensible mess like this:Posted in: Mods Discussion
cx.b(i, j, k).d(k);
A lot of people use MCP because it deobfuscates the code to make it readable. The problem is that Notch's obfuscation code changes with every update. So, lets say someone wrote a mod for Minecraft 1.5. At some point, they have to call a method or variable from the main Minecraft files. The problem is, that piece of code is still using the old obfuscation. What once was called .b() is now .z(). So, the code doesn't work and the game crashes if you try to use it in a newer version. After every update, people, especially the MCP team, have to take the time to figure out the new obfuscation. This is why mods stop working and you don't very many updated mods for a while after each update. -

plashal posted a message on BuildCraft NextGen 6.0.17 - (Builders, Blueprints, Pipes, Quarry, Auto Crafting, Engines)it too gets old trying to fix glitches, bugs and create new content. we hear all types of requests, all types of Mod compatibility issues. SpaceToad has gone as far as modifying code just for these request! all at the same time we are hearing how much it sucks to wait 45 seconds or (my fav) how your 45 Mods for some reason arnt working together.(really? , i wounder why!(cough)) dude, this **** takes up a lot of time. a lot of time..Posted in: Minecraft Mods
i dont mind jumping through hoops in return of hours of extended game play. i see your point and can see how it'd be annoying. Bear in mind the trade off is worth is it, no? 45 secs of waiting.(and if that is a problem, simple; dont wait.. you dont have to download this mod)

I REALLY don't mind supporting the mod-makers with stuff like Ad.Fly but I'm getting really tired lately of what seems to be a manipulation to get us to click more and more of those links. Now every time I want this mod, I need to click three times (well two and search for the last, broken link).
Not only that, but when I downloaded the factory package, my computer reported blocking a blackhole exploit from the website. What the heck?
Why not provide one zip file with all three packages in it and allow us to pick which ones we want to use if they need to be split up? Next thing you know this will be like some other mods where you go through ad.fly to get to a download site to go through ad.fly...
Eventually we'll be going through ad.fly 15 times just for our mods. Sorry for the rant, but it gets old. =\
I love the mod but cmon...I want to support you, not worry about scrubbing my computer with bleach because of suspicious websites.
