I'm pretty sure Optifine itself is considered a mod, so you can just easily install Forge and put it in the mods folder. Unfortunately, as far as I know, it's not designed for many mods in mind so rendering issues are going to be abound with it installed.
The PixPack is a work-in-progress resource pack currently made in mind for 1.12.2 (mostly for future mod support), but versions for 1.4 and above will be coming when I finish the main assets.
It's essentially going to be my main Minecraft themed project for a while to help give me something to do that's not working on importing modded blocks into Blender for renders and such or making models, which is to basically to re-theme the default Minecraft textures into something more of my style, renaissance of the SNES, Sega Genesis and PS1 eras while making it resemble the base game at the same time. It'll also help me learn pixel art along the way and give me an excuse not to use the default textures for my renders.
I've been working on and off on this texture pack over the course of 3 or so months, and right now, I'd say it's mostly in a half-finished state. All the vanilla 1.12.2 blocks have been finished, but I've still got to work on items, entities, and possibly the GUIs before either moving onto 1.14 and above and/or mod support, and due to my unorganized priorities, I'm a bit all over the place with them right now, but I hope to at least have some sort of progress on 1.14 or above by August of this year.
Hayo; although I'm more active on Planet Minecraft, I thought that I might as well make an account to post my content on here.
Although my content doesn't really relate to Minecraft in the long-run, I thought that since they used a similar, blocky style and since I made the structures in Minecraft (or rather modded Minecraft) that they should probably be fine to post, and I'm also working on a texture pack made for my works, although it spread to being its own thing for people to play with and enjoy. I'll probably post it when it's more finished.

You mean like acquaintances, friends, or people you know online? I myself don't really see many people using it.

Here's some screenshots of the pack:
As well as a download link. If the widget doesn't work, you can download it here.

By any chance could you post a crash log from it? I don't think we can really help you without it since we're relying on pure speculation.

What version is the pack format variable? It should be set to 5 for 1.15.
