posted a message on Thaumic Tinkerer (Thaumcraft Addon) - Evolve Knowledge

KAMI IS NO LONGER A SEPERATE DOWNLOAD. ITS NOW A CONFIG OPTION, ENABLED BY DEFAULT

DISCLAIMER:Before installing/using these or any mods, make sure you backup your .minecraft folder, I (Pixlepix), or any other modders for that matter, am not responsible in any way, shape or form for any damage dealt to, but not only, your saves, your minecraft, your computer or others.

Psst, you can follow progress on this mod by me (Please feel enouraged to hop on irc. irc.esper.net: #pixlepix .

REPORT ALL BUGS AT: https://github.com/Thaumic-Tinkerer/ThaumicTinkerer/issuesThaumic Tinkerer is a spiritual successor to Vazkii's Elemental Tinkerer mod, this is a mod about tinkering with thaumic creations. It's an addon to azanor;s Thaumcraft 4. The intention is to add new, and useful items you can create, using the knowledge you've acquired from the vanilla thaumcraft researches. Researches that come from this mod are prefixed as [TT] for easy labelling.

As this is a Thaumcraft Addon, I'll try to keep spoilers minimal, so, here's some non-spoiler-y images. I'll add videos if I happen to get any. So here's a little gallery:

What do these things do you ask? Well, you'll have to figure it out yourself ;)

Down here there would be videos. But as of the 2.0 version of the mod, they're all outdated, since lots of superfluous items have been removed. Updated videos will be placed here as they come.

Thaumic Tinkerer by Pixlepix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License

If you want to do anything with this mod besides playing it, you should have a look at what it says. For modpacks, refer to the license under the Thaumcraft 4 thread, since my mod depends on it. You can distribute TT in modpacks at will, but Thaumcraft is a different matter.

    (Hey you, read this)

KAMI is a separate module in Thaumic Tinkerer, you can download it in the typical downloads section alongisde the rest of the mod, just drop it in the mods folder as you normally would. It includes incredibly powerful and expensive blocks. How powerful you ask? Look below:See that hole? I dug it in a few seconds. See that pouch in my bar? It stores more than 4 mundane chests together. Still not convinced? Look at what you can do with it, check out this gif.

This mod includes features exclusive to ComputerCraft and ForgeMultipart, for the full experience, these are recomended, but by no means required.

    Download for Thaumcraft 4 (Changelog)

    Download for Thaumcraft 3 (Changelog)

Source Code (github)The Github contains localization files, the mod can be localized. Currently it's available in English, German, Chinese and Russian.

    Banner (copy to your sig!):

Q: Can I use this mod in a modpack?

A: Read the License section of this thread.

Q: Any other mods by you?

    A: Check my website.

Q: How can I contact you?

    A: See above.

Q: (Insert any other question here related to me, not my mod)

A: See above, About me section.

    Q: Haven't I seen those sprites before?

A: You may have. This mod makes use of either modified, or just copied versions of Thaumcraft 2 or 3 assets, the reason for this is that I can't make any sort of art at all, and I'd rather make use of fantastic unused assets than to reinvent the wheel and create my own, that would probably be sub-par.

Q: The latest version in the file index says it was compiled for an old version of thaumcraft, will it still work?

A: In theory it should work, it probably will, you should try it yourself to find out.

Q: Why are there things in the thread? (May or may not be)

A: Because Minecraft Forums is stupid.

Q: Why is the Awakened Ichorium Pickaxe so slow?

A: Enchant it with efficiency 5 and get a pair of Boots of the Horizontal Shield and tell me it's slow.

Q: I can't find anything from KAMI, what do you need?

A: Every single research not related to KAMI, and then it'll unlock. You can find it in the artifice tab.

Q: I get the above error when I try to load up KAMI, how do I fix this?

    A: Redownload it.

posted a message on Aura Cascade
This is a magic mod that challenges the user to think. At it's core is an innovative power system which is nearly impossible to fully optimize. All features are documented via an in-game book.

    Credits:

    • Huge thanks to Vazkii. The lexicon code is taken from Botania, and the design philosophies behind Botania were a huge inspiration.
    • Textures are mostly done by Futureazoo and Drullakus.
    DOWNLOAD: HERE

NOTE: This documentation is rarely-updated and may be out of date. Refer to the in-game guide for accurate documentation.

    Basic Concepts

    • Aura does not represent power
    • Aura is not created or destroyed
    • GUI-free
    • Aura nodes pass aura back and forth
    • Aura nodes pass aura in both directions, equalizing aura
    • An aura node with a redstone signal won't send aura onwards, resulting in a build-up on aura
    • Aura comes from aura crystals, which can be crafted
    • Aura will not naturally move up, but it will move down
    • Aura will only move up when a 'pump' (Equivalent to a generator) moves them
    • Power = Aura * vertical distance
    • When aura falls down, it creates power

    Types of Aura

Aura comes in all colors of the rainbow! (Plus black and white)

    • White Aura: Plain aura. If you use this, you are boring.
    • Black Aura: This aura does not generate power. It can't flow horizontally. It can be produced in near-unlimited amounts by an Aura Manipulator (Discussed later).
    • Red Aura: When TNT is detonated near a node with red aura, large amounts of red aura will move uphill (the explosion will not harm any blocks)
    • Orange Aura: Like black aura, it doesn't generate power and can be produced by an aura manipulator. When orange aura flows, it encourages aura in nearby nodes to move in the same direction.
    • Yellow Aura: Takes a tenth of the energy to pump up, and produces the same amount of power flowing down. However, it is unstable and decays quickly.
    • Green Aura: This 'weighs' twice as much during the daytime, and half as much at night (In the day, it takes twice as much effort to pump it up, but it also generates twice as much power). By pumping power in the night, and using it during the day, you can be more efficient.
    • Blue Aura: This aura is 50x easier to pump up during the rain, but only half as efficient at other times
    • Purple Aura: This aura will slowly multiply. This multiplication occurs significantly faster if it is placed in a node with low amounts of purple aura

    Aura Flow detailed mechanics

    • Aura flows once per second
    • Aura flows between nodes connected in a straight line, with a range of 15 blocks
    • A node with more Aura will send out a larger portion of it's aura
    • Nodes send aura in both directions
    • The end result of the last two rules is that horizontally placed nodes naturally tend towards equilibrium
    • Aura nodes will send much more aura to a node which is closer

    Pump Mechanics

    • Different types of Aura pumps use different kinds of materials to push aura uphill
    • Aura can't flow downhill into an aura pump, for convenience
    • Each material has a 'duration' and a 'power'
    • The duration represents the number of bursts (Once per second) that the pump will run for
    • The power represents the power generated per second. To find the aura sent uphill by a pump per second, divide the power by the vertical distance.

    Types of Pumps

    • Coal pump: Sends power uphill and uses burnable materials, dropped nearby. Power: 200. Duration: 4 x the time the material will burn in a furnace
    • Momentum pump: Creates power when mobs fall near it. Duration: 5 * fall distance. Power: 350
    • Light pump: Eats glowstone and torches placed nearby. Duration: 150 per glowstone, 30 per torch. Power: 1000
    • Projectile pump: Generates power when snowballs, eggs, or arrows are thrown at it. Duration: 300 per arrow, 90 per egg, 10 per snowball. Power: 1500 per arrow, 400 per egg, 200 per snowball.
    • Redstone pump: When redstone wire is connected and powered, it will eat a straight line of redstone wire, up to 15 blocks. Duration: 10 for the first redstone wire. The duration increases by 40% for all following wires. Power: 1500

    Special Aura Nodes

A series of aura nodes with special properties.

    • Aura Manipulator. Comes in two flavors: Black and orange. When not powered by redstone, it will receive and destroy all aura of it's chosen color (It doesn't accept other colors of aura). When powered, it will create extremely large amounts of aura (100,000 per second).
    • Conserving aura node: Won't send aura downwards. Useful when used with red aura, or when working in tight space (Not needed with aura pumps).
    • Aura Capacitor: Has a tolerance (Can be toggled with right-clicking). It won't send aura out normally, much like an aura node with a redstone signal. When the tolerance is reached, it will discharge all aura in one burst, and it will not receive aura back for a short time.

    Crafting

One of the first practical uses for aura, used to make most mid-to-late-game items.

The basic crafting setup has an 'Aura Vortex Controller' surrounded by four 'Aura vortex pedestals'.

Four specific items, recipe dependent, are placed on the four pedestals. Then aura needs to fall downhill into the pedestals, creating a certain amount of power. When all the power and item requirements are fulfilled, the crafting is complete. A few recipes require that certain pedestals receive certain colors of aura.

    Fairies

To start off, craft yourself a fairy ring. This ring is worn as a bauble. With this ring equipped, craft specific fairy charms and right click them, causing a fairy to jump out and fly around you. Shift-right-clicking the ring will dump all fairy charms inside the ring. Fairies each perform special effects:

    • Combat Fairy: Damages nearby mobs
    • Debuff fairy: Applies negative potions to nearby mobs
    • Buff Fairy: Applies good potions to you
    • Steal Fairy: Steals other player's held items
    • Push Fairy: Extreme knockback, no damage
    • Shooter Fairy: Enhances damage of arrows shot by you
    • Savior Fairy: High-powered combat fairy that functions only when the owner has low health
    • Fetch Fairy: Picks up nearby items
    • Bait Fairy: Spawns passive mobs
    • Breeder Fairy: Makes passive mobs fall in love (Like wheat)
    • Scarer Fairy: Decreases mob spawns
    • Extinguisher fairy: Puts out fire on the player and removes lava
    • Digger Fairy: Occasionally enables you to break a block instantly
    • Fall fairy: Reduces fall damage
    • Light fairy: Places temporary invisible light sources if it's dark
    • Training fairy: Drops XP orbs EntityCombatFairy.class, EntityDebuffFairy.class, EntityBuffFairy.class,

    Aura Consumers

These machines all draw power from adjacent aura nodes. All of these machines have extreme, often exponential, diminishing returns in terms of power pumped in, and none of the machines can store power for reasonable amounts of time.

    • Cascading Smelter: Smelts nearby items. More power = more speed
    • Cascading Processor: Will consume large amounts of power to turn ores into three dusts. Yes, this is extremely boring. Possibly removed in a later version?
    • Cascading Looter: Will consume power to generate items which are found in dungeon chests.
    • Cascading Spawner: Will spawn mobs for power. Spawns mobs which would naturally be found in the area, similar to cursed earth.
    • Cascading Synthesizer: Consumes power to generate a rare material known as Angel's steel...

    Angel's steel.

    • Angel's steel is a rare, mystical metal.
    • Angel's steel comes in different 'degrees'. The first degree is produced by the Cascading Synthesizer
    • Subsequent degrees are made by combining three of the previous degree in a crafting bench. Three first-degree angel's steel ingots make a second-degree ingot.
    • Angel's steel ingots can be crafted into shovels, pickaxes and axes.
    • Each degree of tools gives 2 bonus points.
    • Bonus points are randomly applied into four categories: Efficiency, Fortune, Shatter, and Disintegrate
    • Shatter gives bonus speed when breaking hard blocks
    • Disintegrate gives bonus speed when breaking soft blocks

I'm about to break just about every modding rule by actually giving an ETA. There is expected to be a bug fix build sunday, which includes things like armor toggles. I'm testing some new content which should be released late next week.

    posted a message on [1.6][Forge]Minechem
    Introduction
Welcome. I have been given control of the amazing Minechem mod by rushmead. I have updated it to 1.6, and I am in the process of adding new features. Downloads are available at DOWNLOAD . As always, bug reports are appreciated

Main new Features since Rushmead's version
~All chemicals now support liquid pipes for movement between minechem machines
    ~Fusion reactor now actually works
    ~Added fission reactor
~Blueprints spawn much more frequently and are craftable
~Configurable recipies(This is going to be improved with XML/JSON support in the future)
    ~Dozens of tiny improvements

Great video from BevoLJ: Part of his LP series, but it focuses mostly on minechem
    [media][media][/media[/media]]

    Original Post
    Quote from Rush12

It's back! MineChem version 3 is now available for download.
Add chemistry to your minecraft world. Craft machines that decompose minecraft items into elements
and molecules. Use the microscope to discover new molecular structures. Operate the Chemical Synthesis Machine to turn elements back into items. Turn your coal, sugar or even spider eyes into diamonds!

Minechem 2 is designed to work alongside Buildcraft so you can build automated chemical factories. Minechem comes preconfigured to work with Forge's ore dictionary.

This is a pre-release, there will be bugs. There are plenty more features to come, but the current features should be stable. Not every vanilla item decomposes into elements, yet. I encourage you to leave feedback in the thread or you might catch me on the #MineChem IRC channel at irc.esper.net.
After the Sad Failure Of Minechem 2 From ljdp me and Mandrake + others have been working hard on keeping this mod alive!

Thanks to Ian K. for the models and textures,
Thanks to Rushmead, Phrost, Adelaye and everyone on #minecraftforge! Also Thanks to Ljdp for making this fab mod!

posted a message on [1.6.2][Forge][Modjam]Mission Control-Automate your inventory
    Purpose

Mission Control is a mod focused on allowing you to automate moving things into or out of your inventory. The most basic block, the inventory link, interacts with buildcraft pipes, hoppers, and any other item transport method just like a normal chest, only any changes it makes changes your inventory. Eight total block types allow a wider range of capabilities.

    Block Types
    Inventory Link
The basic inventory link, and the basis for all other links.

    Focused inventory Link
This inventory link acts on only stacks of a specific type. To change the focused type, left click. This allows you to not only remove all items of a type from your inventory, but also to send items into your inventory. Items sent will only fill up stacks currently containing the correct type; They will not make new stacks.
    Selective Inventory Link
This link will only act on one region of the players inventory: Hotbar, armor slot or main inventory. Shift-Click to cycle between regions.
    Ender Inventory Link
This acts just like a normal inventory link, except that it accesses the enderchest inventory of a player.
    Proximity Inventory Link
This links to the closest player. It has a maximum range of ten blocks.
    Input Inventory Link
All items dropped by the player will be dropped above this block.
    Output Inventory Link
All items picked up by the player will be dropped above this block
    Death Inventory Link
All items dropped upon a players death will be dropped above this block. There is a twenty second wait, as not to interfere with PvP/lava.

    Downloads
    0.9.0-7
    0.9.0-8

    Misc
This mod is liscenced under the MIT liscence. Full source code is available at github.com/pixlepix/Modjam. You may use this mod in a modpack without permission, although, as I do like to know my mod is being used, I would appreciate a notification.

posted a message on [1.5.1][Forge][UE]Complex Machines

    Introduction:
This mod is a collection of different ideas I had. This mod is currently only compatible with universal electricity power. If you want to hook these machines up to your IC2 power grid, use the fantastic converters provided by mekanism.

    Documentation:
    • Filler: This is a simple block that...builds a giant stone cube. Just connect it to power, and it will start building a 30x15x30 cube (The cube does not extend downwards). This cube will not replace any blocks, and only changes air blocks.
    • Extractor: This is an autominer, but it works a little differently than blocks such as a quarry, with a focus on convenience. The machine, when it has enough power, scans blocks near it, following a bell curve pattern. It uses a MegaJoule per block of ore mined, and 10 KiloJoules per stone block it scanned. The types of ores it seeks out can be configured, by putting the ores you want to mine in the top row. Redstone, coal and diamond ore are mined by default, as those ores are hard to obtain without the silk touch enchantment.
    • Replacer: This is a machine designed primarily for use with the filler. To use, place a chest on top of it, and fill it with the materials you desire. It will replace the stone nearby, but not stone underneath it, with the materials you put in the chest.
    • Grinder: This is a machine to produce power from raw materials. It produces a KiloJoule of power per item placed inside.
    • Focal Point/Controlled focal point: Focal points are spawned underground, and cannot be moved. Right click them to 'control' them, and turn them into a controlled focal point. This will then produce a small amount of power.
    • Ocean Generator: These blocks are fairly simple. They generate power based on the amount of water source blocks nearby, with a fairly large radius.
    • Single Point Generator: These blocks produce a bunch of power, but only if they are placed at the coordinates (5000,60,5000),(-5000,60,5000),(5000 60 -5000),(-5000 60 -5000). These blocks are intended to spice up SMP raid servers.
    • Laser Emitters: The one you've all been waiting for....ITS LASER TIME. Laser emitters, when powered, create a blue beam by default. You can right click the laser emitter with different modifiers:
    • Redstone: The laser beam will emit redstone current.

Nether Star: The laser beam will apply a severe debuff to anyone crossing it

Diamond Sword: The laser beam will harm any players or mobs to anyone hit by the laser.

Glass: Works similar to the Sword, but the laser beam is almost invisible

Diamond Pickaxe: The laser will slowly destroy and stone in it's path, using additional power.

Water Bucket: The laser electrifies water, dealing damage to all nearby entities in water.

Minecart: The laser pulls Mobs and Items hit by the laser inwards to the emitter.

Seeds: These create flux, based on conways game of life. At this time, flux has no practical purpose, it is intended as a fun, sandbox toy.
