Sort of kind of recreation of the ziggurat of Ur.
    picture's a bit large, sorry.

It's something like 112 high and almost 300 wide.

The point is fli, that just because something is a way in the real world, doesn't mean we have to apply. Obsidian is very fragile, but notch coded it to be incredibly resistant. Why? hell knows, but it's just that way. Wool being flammable is actually a very important part of building underwater structures, so making it not flammable would kinda break the game.

Although I have to agree, you guys aren't being very productive with the snakry posts.

well, it wouldn't break the game as much as force you to use a different strategy.

Wool burns because cloth burns and people think of wool as cloth. The fact that it's wool doesn't really matter in the context of the game does it? I mean, you're not complaining about the fact that a wood structure can burn away to nothing in a few minutes are you? Realistically a wooden structure would burn for quite a while.

Realistically, riding a pig on a saddle you found in a strange ruin in the depths of a cave might seem a little silly.

404 is intense. Punch the gravel, for God's sake (on the left), and fall down the waterfall. You will be amazed.

JESUS CHRIST THAT WAS AMAZING. EVERYBODY LISTEN TO THIS MAN.

    Yep.

TONS of diamonds & lapis down there, more than I've ever seen at once.

Be careful of lava, though, because the pond will flood into the lava caverns, and if you idle for a bit, the water can shove you in.

    coordinates for this please?

The 16X16X16 would be cool, but yeah I doubt it will change.

It just all seems so weak and impotent compared to the things that used to be made, the things that took 30 seconds of falling to get down from, Oceans that actually felt like oceans, not just little stupid puddles. It's all so bloody insubstantial now. I want to make goddamn sky scrapers again, not just mediocre office buildings.

Giving up infinite possibility because of an oddity in the way things are lit seems rather weak.

I see what you mean- seems plausible.

I also hate seeing the tops of epic mountains being cut off.

    Or epic constructions.

Currently there is a hard limit on the height of the world, though no limit on the breadth, and this seems odd to me. I can understand the downward limit, but why limit the sky? Wouldn't it be simple to generate empty vertical chunks as one progressed upward in the way in the same way they create chunks as we progress outward? Since it wouldn't be used unless you specifically built upward it wouldn't increase the amount of space maps took up, and it would allow for potentially limitless large constructions.

Would this work? Is there any reasons this hasn't been done? What do you think?

posted a message on Recolors of glass blocks/lightstone?
Recolors of glowstone blocks could be used to make neon lights, so that we could make shiny glowing cities like las vegas. A big dark room with some shiny colorful "stars" could look like outer space.

Rainbow glass blocks could be used to make stained glass windows in big cathedrals.

    Some other ideas I had:
-Something to fly and explore the sky
-Something to breathe underwater longer and explore the sea
It could be anything. We could be flying on chickens and diving with a magic potion, no need to implement planes and submarines or other complicated things.

I was thinking that making a space world would be neat.. I would cover the sky with rock to block all sunlight, and I would make suns (balls of lava) and stars and shiny shiny planets. But it's a bit difficult to do this if you can't fly: I'd need a flying machine, otherwise it wouldn't feel like space travel. Putting saddles on chicken to fly: yay or nay?

posted a message on light switches?
I've tried doors, they don't block light, or at least not enough to be useful. My original idea was to wire up a big complex thing that was basically this: Lava is confined behind doors and those doors are opened with a lever. when opened the doors allow the lava to fill glass "tubes" and provide light. Unfortunately doors block lava, even when open, which crushes my other concept of a lava "force field" (a literal wall of lava that you can turn off and on.)

I hope eventually we get light switches. You connect the lantern (or whatever the source of light is) to a switch with redstone dust, and then you can turn it on and off. :3
