You'll want to use Eyes of Ender. They lead you straight to the nearest portal. It's easier above ground, so then all you have to do is dog straight down, hoping to not fall into the lava pit under the portal.

If you have a PS3 with Minecraft on it, and also have a Vita already, then why not?
The world sizes are the same, as well as the features that they hold.
The controls are also very good for the Vita. Since it doesn't have L2, L3, R2, R3 buttons, it assigns those to the D-Pad. Only use for the touchscreen is to quick select items on your hotbar.
I say go for it if you like playing Minecraft enough to take your world everywhere you go
Remember, you can transfer saves between PS3, and Vita, and vice versa.

Better battery life. That was my sole reason.

Last-gen consoles and Vita have more compact worlds, so everything seems like it's close together, but in a smaller size.
As for my seeds, I use one from the PS3. Only wood I can't get in it is jungle. Doesn't really matter much, as I use the Skyrim Texture Pack.

I do. I transfer saves from my PS3 to Vita, and back so that I'm able to play the same save on the go. Quite handy.
I just wish it would have a larger draw distance, so that it at least matches Pocket Edition's, but whatever.

There are various types of Iron Farms that you're able to build depending on the resources and/or time you're willing to spend.
Perhaps the one you built got something wrong in the process.
A small, cheap Iron Farm is one built by Nim's Tuts on YouTube.
A huge one is the Iron Titan by Tango Tek.

Yup. I had this setting for the longest time, and it seems to help some. However, for the first 2 days, when I went to save manually, it used to crash almost constantly.
I've switched to the Festive Texture Pack (to celebrate the holidays right) and haven't had problems since. I'm not sure of this has anything to do with it, or not, though.

Ever wanted to play Skyblock 2.0 on console? Well, now you can!
To join, simply send me a friend request with "Skyblock 2.0" in the description and you're in! Empty messages will be discarded.
Due to port constraints, changes include:
- Pre-built portals to keep players within their designated play areas. You still have to light them up, though.
- Nether Island mushrooms aren't planted. They are contained in the nether chest.
- Sand Island has Sand Stone as its third layer.
- Compact Nether.
Other than that, it's identical to the PC version.
Mics aren't required, but can come in handy when you need help from me, the moderator.
NOTE: Due to lag, I will only host for 4 other players at a time. Invites are first come first serve upon request. If you don't play in the server for more than a week, you will have to send another friend request with "Skyblock" in the message. I like to keep my friend list relatively short. Thank you for your understanding.
NOTE #2: This is a PS3 only server. Cross-platform play is not available currently. Sorry for the inconvenience.
NOTE #3: Your progress will remain for 3 days of inactivity. After that, it will be destroyed and replaced with new islands for other players to enjoy.
I, also, have a Skyblock 1.0 server. If you want to play that, specify in the message.

I haven't experienced any framerate issues, but every time I try to save after a long while has passed, or I enter another dimension (either Nether or End), the game crashes and I lose my progress.
Am I the only one going through this, or...?
