I read the last couple pages of this topic, and the OP, but I also had some questions. I apologize if they've already been answered.
On the OP, I saw a feature talking about being able to downgrade Minecraft to the previous version, but I haven't seen a button for that. Has that been implemented yet?
And when using two configurations (one for 1.2.4 and one for 1.2.3), how do I change the base folder for the jar that's not being loaded from the standard .minecraft folder? I have one jar in .minecraft and that loads fine, but the other jar is in a folder on my desktop, but I can't change its base folder.
Thanks for the help!
You can change that by clicking on the 'options' button on the main magiclauncher screen, and browse to a new base folder.
The only problem with that, it's going to still be the same base folder for everything and you will have to change the base folder every time you switch from one config to another.
It's kind of a pain in the butt right now.
I have the suggestion to have a field to select a different base folder for each config in it's setup screen.
Seperate from the field to select a different minecraft.jar
I'm also using MagicLauncher, in that it claims there is 1 error. Other than the tall grass not getting snowed on, everything else runs fine with no crashes.
here's a screenshot. Snow is already a few blocks deep, yet nothing on the tall grass...
I had the same problem, set better snow in optifine to on.
It didn't really work. Snow still didn't accumulate on about 50% of the tall grass. And where it DID accumulate on the tall grass, it wouldn't build up to and beyone a full block of snow.
This mod is a nice idea, but it's still too buggy at this time.
I hope support for patchers will be included soon, because if it weren't for someone re-packaging GLSL in zip form, I would have never gotten that mod working through MagicLauncher.
Ok, not I know some people are going to jump on me for being a "spelling nazi", and I understand that for many here, english is not their primary language, but I still have to say something...
Just a little feedback:
I think maybe the ststus column needs more work.
Maybe more info on the errors it reports. If possible.
The launcher claims there are erors in mods, yet nothing appears wrong when I run the game.

How about a break from ..."I'm having problems!! HELP ME!!"
Here's some screenies, mostly using the ultra shader.
I have a Nvidia 9800GT, for the most part I get 10-15fps, but it seems to choke when there is a large number of windows in the view.
As you tell in the shot with the red & very spikey lagmeter active.
(I guess it's time to save up for a faster video card)
I recently geneated a new world in 1.2.3 and did not get any of those lag spikes (good fps, then 5-10 sec freeze, then good fps again)
I'm speculating that this may be a problem with old worlds that have been converted over to anvil.
General fps is ok for me.
But at random frequent intervals, I get these lag spikes where it freezes for a second or two.
It even happens if I'm not moving.
It happens often enough to make 1.2 unplayable for me.
This never happened for me before, this is definately a 1.2 bug.
For the most part I get a noticable improvement in frame rate.
BUT.... I still get massive lag spikes at very frequent random intervals. It happens too often to make 1.2.3 playable for me.
This is a new problem with 1.2.3. (No spikes in 1.1 & earlier) Optifine dosn't stop this from happening.

I give up on this mod

I found a minor bug.
The concrete block is using the wrong texture.
It's using the texture for the mossy pillar.

Better snow in the quality settings is "off"

I'm still on 1.0 because of that.

Anyone else having this problem?
BTW, I'm using the MT version of Optifine.
