Robinton has been having an incredibly busy time at college in the last few weeks, but does intend to continue on with Cubic Chunks.

I've recommended that he start a separate thread just for his 4096IDs Mod/API so that everyone wanting to converse about that subject can have that focused place to talk with each other all they want about it. It's a huge and important subject, and one that interests me too. It deserves to have it's own thread.

And of course, Robintons many other mods deserve a place where they can be contiguously discussed as well.

Thanks, I was just curious. CC just hasn't been brought up in a while.

Just a suggestion, how about making the studs more evenly spaced across multiple blocks. Right now they are too close to the edges of the blocks.

Whatever happened to cubic chunks? Did robinton give up on that mod?
Seems like this thread is entirely about 4096 ids now.

posted a message on [1.6.4]TerraFirmaCraft - Survival mode as it should've been.
So I decided to sit and watch the F3 screen for a while and see what was going on with the lag spikes.
Sitting there doing nothing in the game, I watched the memory usage steadily increase until after about 40-45 min, it ran out of memory and crashed.
I noticed there was a spike whenever the allocated memory increased. Then once allocated memory hit 100%, the spikes got way more frequent, spiking whenever the used memory hit a peak.

Maybe this info helps a little. looks like the culprit for the performance problems is a memory management/leak issue.
Im no expert, just speculating here.

    1. I'm aware of this bug, it's like the great white whale, constantly eluding me, but I shall slay it one day!
    2. This is not so much a bug as it is an unavoidable result of how the code searches a tree when attempting to fell the entire thing.

But all in all this looks like it will turn out to be one of the better mods out there.
It can get a bit laggy at times. But I think that may more be from vanilla minecraft itself. I've noticed the game seems to be getting more and more cpu intensive with each new version. Weather and mobs bring performance down for me.

Great job on this mod! I can't wait to see how this evolves.

A couple of bugs I noticed.
    1. When the firepit goes out, it still emits light.
2.Trees don't fall when you dig out from under them, then when you start chopping wood from the bottom of that tree with nothing under it, it still dosen't fall.

    Did you use MCPatcher ?

No, normally I use Optifine for HD textures, but the screenshot is from when I tested the Builders mod all alone to make sure there we're no conflicts.

Anyhow, everythng seems to be fine with this mod now. I'm just still playing with the config settings to get the behavior I want out of these little dudes.

BTW: There is a conflict with the NBXLite mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/534818-125-nbxlite-olddays-spawn-human-now-with-alpha-world-converter/
Builders says it loaded succesfully, but none show up in the world.
NBXLite brings back terrain generators from old versions of minecraft.
It no big deal to me. I use MagicLauncher, so I play with different mod combinations.
I just can't have builders in worlds generated with the alpha algorythm.

Ok, I fell ike a bit of an idiot. The mob folder goes inside the jar file.
But in my defense, maybe the instructions should be more clear on that.
It should say "AddToMinecraftJar" instead of "AddToBin".

Also, it actually works fine with the mob folder placed inside the builders zip file.
If you package the download like that, then we don't even have to mess with this "AddToBin" business.

Did you follow the correct instructions ?
the mob folder is in the Add to Bin folder.
As i said, all of the blueprints were moved to the folder .Minecraft/mods/Builders/Singleprints/Unused, moved them to Singleprints if you want them to build it.

Yes, I followed the instructions correctly, I triple-checked myself. The skin textures are in the right place, all in a mob folder within the bin folder.

Here's a screenshot. They are white with a "g1" on top of their heads.
I normally use optifine for my HD textures, but I made this screenshot off a version with just the builders mod active, hence, the fire & portal on the bricks.

Moving the blueprints works, at least they are building stuff now.

    F'n AWESOME mod!!!
I like the way the old alpha generator did things, and it's pretty accurate.
I re-loaded my first world (yes I still have it) and I wrote down the seed, plugged it into NBXLite set on the alpha generator.
    And BY GOLLY!!!
It was the same friggin world!
Lakes & hills all in the same spots.
About 98% the same. There are minor details that are different, like waterfalls not in the same spot and some of the smaller land features a little different. But for all practical puroses it was the same.

I'm curious as to which settings help decrease cpu usage.
I have an ok video card and general fps is good, but I have slower cpu (Core 2 duo 2.2ghz), most of the time minecraft pegs my cpu meter at 100%
