    Okay, so I've looked around for a solution for this problem, and I've not had any luck as of yet. When I save a world whilst I'm using SSP, and only SSP, it just doesn't update when I reload the save. Lets say, I chop down an entire forest, and then save & quit. When I come back the forest is back, and anything I've built prior to that save, has disappeared. However, I do get to keep my inventory. I would post an error log if I had one, but sadly they don't seem to generate for me anymore. This happens in both classic, indev and alpha worlds, no matter which theme or generator settings I've used.

    EDIT; If generated structures is the MapFeatures section in the .dat file, yes, then it is turned on.

    So, I was playing with the 1.6.4 version, having a blast. I made an alpha world with hardcore more and hell theme, and started exploring. All of a sudden, this happened.

    Yep, it was. In Alpha 1.1.2. Not the _01 version, just plain alpha 1.1.2.

    EDIT: Apparently it only happened when playing offline with internet on.

    Basically, if you got the Alpha version that was on the free weekend back in September 2010, you'd have a bug with the sounds so only walking and mining sounds would come. It made the game a little more tense because you never knew which mob was lurking outside your home since it only made stepping noises =P

    Exalm, you made my favorite mod of all time. Alpha 1.1.2 was the version that appealed the most to me, and it still does. Notch should still have worked on the game, added the red dragon lairs, pig villages and so on, which were the things I was looking forward to the most. As for now, I agree a lot with you. Minecraft has deteriorated from its awesome state and is no longer the mystifying experience it used to be. Just writing this because I wanna say it and that I want you all to know how I feel about Minecraft nowadays. For whoever actually read this, thank you for your time :) Also, here's a thing I want to have added (just because it's something that also appealed to me :P Dunno why) the sound bug in Alpha where the sounds of pressure plates, doors, mobs, water, new music and explosions disappeared :)

    Hey there Rayn! I've seen some big posts that you have come with, and i've got to say that this one is gonna be the biggest! Anyway, my opinion is that there should be a possibility to choose which version we'd like to play in at the Minecraft launcher screen. That would be awesome! But if it'd be something else, i'd say that you could choose which world features you want when you start a new world. Like, for an example:
    "Generator features: Alpha 1.1.2, Alpha 1.2.6, Beta 15, Beta 1.7.3, normal, large biomes and superflat"
    That would be cool to see.
