Even Older Versions
Even older versions of OptiFine are available in the OptiFine history.
If you have previously used MCPatcher for HD Textures, HD Fonts or Better Grass (important)
Follow these steps to prevent a possible "Black Screen" problem when installing OptiFine:
1. Temporarily revert back to the Default Texture Pack.
2. Uninstall the HD Textures, HD Fonts, and Better Grass mods from the MCPatcher. These functions are included in OptiFine.
3. Set Graphics to Fancy
4. Install OptiFine and test with the Default Texture Pack to make sure everything is working.
5. Select your previous texture pack and graphics settings
6. Run Minecraft and enjoy

2. Uninstall the HD Textures, HD Fonts, and Better Grass mods from the MCPatcher. These functions are included in OptiFine.
3. Set Graphics to Fancy

Compatibility with other mods
When installing OptiFine together with other mods always make sure to install OptiFine last. The only exception are mods which are designed to be installed after OptiFine and say so in their install instructions.
If you need ModLoader: Install OptiFine AFTER ModLoader.
If you need Forge: Install OptiFine AFTER Forge.
MCPatcher is NOT needed for HD textures, HD fonts and BetterGrass, they are included in OptiFine. Install OptiFine without MCPatcher's HD features for best performance.
If you need DynamicLights (ModLoader edition): Install OptiFine AFTER DynamicLights.

- Use the official launcher to download and start once Minecraft 1.6.2.
- Double-click the downloaded JAR file and the OptiFine installer should start
- Click "Extract" and save the OptiFine MOD file
- Start Magic Launcher
- Click "Setup"
- Select Environment "1.6.2"
- Click "Add" -> select the OptiFine MOD file
- Click "OK"
- Login and play
C. Complex
- Use the official launcher to download and start once Minecraft 1.6.2.
- Go to the minecraft base folder (the official launchers shows it when you click "Edit Profile" as "Game Directory")
- Go in subfolder "Versions"
- Rename the folder "1.6.2" to "1.6.2_OptiFine"
- Go in the subfolder "1.6.2_OptiFine"
- Rename "1.6.2.jar" to "1.6.2_OptiFine.jar"
- Rename "1.6.2.json" to "1.6.2_OptiFine.json"
- Open the file "1.6.2_OptiFine.json" with a text editor and replace "id":"1.6.2" with "id":"1.6.2_OptiFine" and save the file

3. Click OK, login and play Minecraft
B. Manual Installation
Windows/Linux Instructions:
1. Locate your minecraft.jar file. On Windows, it's in %APPDATA%/.minecraft/bin
2. Create a backup of minecraft.jar
3. Open minecraft.jar in an archive editor (WinRar/7-Zip/etc)
4. Delete the META-INF folder.
5. Copy (drag and drop) the .class files from the downloaded zip file into the jar file, replacing previous files.
6. Run Minecraft and test!
Mac Instructions:

Best way is to cover it in a box 9x9x3 with the spawner in the dead center. Make it out of cobblestone to help keep ghasts away. Use a fire resist potion and it should take about 5 minutes to do it.

Another thing it could be, if there were a lot of zombies piled up at your door, the reintroduction of collision boxes could cause a zombie to get "launched" inside just by the sheer number of zombies pushing it.

Why would you like to join this server?: I have been dying to find a friendly server where everyone can respect eachother and do as they wish without worrying about other harmful players, I see this server is exactly what I want. I also feel I could support the server in many ways and take an active part in the community!

Dimension Defense is a PVP based map in which each team's goal is to destroy the other team's obsidian link, being 5 pieces of obsidian in a line surrounded by a bedrock structure.
I believe a MINIMUM of 8 people should play the map to create a 4v4 match, though the map can easily handle more. You can do ANYTHING in survival to either attack the enemy's link, or defend your own! This map was created in 1.6.2.
1. Click the download link.
2. Download the map.
3. Make sure command blocks are ENABLED on your server when you first load the map.
4. To pick a team, simply walk onto the pressure plate for the team you want to join.
(The map is designed so that the teams will be even plus or minus one person)
5. When ALL players are ready on your team, pull the lever to commence the match!
(There are many goodies to be had in the middle of the map, but beware trapped chests)

Description:
This is a map created with the mind of surviving waves upon waves of mobs. I was inspired by a few other maps, though none of them were exactly what I wanted to play. Therefore I created my own!
Guidelines:
If playing in SMP with friends(recommended) chances are you will spawn outside the map, all you have to do is type in (/tp [player] -916 24 605) this should teleport you to the map.
Sleep in one of the beds before you begin, you will die >;D
MAKE SURE COMMAND BLOCKS ARE ENABLED
Installation Instructions:
Download the map from each download link. Navigate to your minecraft saves as follows %appdata%\roaming\.minecraft\saves
Then drag "15 Wave Survival Map" file from your downloads into the saves.
Open minecraft and start playing!

So do you just intentionally go to every desert oasis map on the forums and troll them saying that this one guy's map is better? That's just low man, there are SOOOOOO many desert oasis maps, its just a coincidence
