I tested it out, and saw it fail with passengers, but work empty. I believe Notch has increased the maximum minecart velocity for passengers - as I have noticed a large increase in my travel speed inbetween locations.
Okay, so I'm NOT Crazy :biggrin.gif:
Yes, the minecarts are REALLY buzzing in my server right now, and I think passengers alter the speed a bunch. Any way this could be fixed?
There's less of a chance of the minecarts coasting through the obsidian if there is no passenger riding the minecart. So I've put ejector blocks a little bit before the obsidian block.
I wonder if there is some kind of new thing in beta that makes detection of passengers in a minecart to behave differently...
Just installed the new 2.3 version. Obsidian seems not to be very reliable anymore in terms of catching carts.
I have a system where an incoming minecart goes over a pressure plate and sends the other out while it loops around and stops on the obsidian of the original minecart. Has the update changed to keep a system like this from working?
I can confirm there's a problem with chests and inventory lagging while loading.
"i have to click one time on the items in the chest for them to appear"
Other users were complaining about getting kicked. On the client side, remove the .jar and replace it with the latest. This might not work but others were saying it fixed their problem.
I don't think I'm catching on to what you're saying. Where is this .jar file located on my client?
Hmmm... the Daylight mod may actually solve most of those problems. Certainly monsters will come out of the woodwork from caves, but mostly spiders and creepers, I would assume. And it'd make the caves more threatening.
That's awesome! Thanks for the suggestion. It's not exactly what I'm looking for, but it will definitely make due!
Now, all I need is to find a mod that will soften the penalty of death, such as not drop any items...
I have a private server that I share with friends and family who aren't exactly the best gamers in the world, and will be expected to die... alot.
That being said, I was wondering if the penalty for death could be soften a bit so that when you die, you don't drop anything, you just go back to spawn.
Any ideas how to do this? Does this kind of thing exist?
I was thinking there could be a way to calculate it such as measuring altitude as opposed to seeing if the area is a cave or not.
I do know there's a CreeperMod out there that determines if the area the creeper's in is low enough for it to go ahead and blow itself up. Though, I'm not sure if there's any function at all that controls mob spawn location.
I run a private server with a small amount of people, we've been talking about how to implement health and monsters into our server while not being way too difficult for some of the non-core gamers in our group. What I thought would be perfect is to limit monsters from appearing in the surface, but if you go down to mine and look for rare resources, you'll have to face the risk of monsters.
I wonder if there is a way to spawn monsters only at a certain lower altitude however the surface clean of monsters, perhaps a mod of some sort.
If anybody had any information of what I can do with that, I really appreciate it!
This week i've been seeing this mysterious ip at 92.135.175.152 attempting to connect over and over again, and losing its connection doing so.
A quick search brought me to http://92.135.175.152/ a picture of another minecraft server. So I went and connected to them and had a look around that server's ip, it seemed like a typical minecraft multiplayer server. Which is why I'm very perplexed as how this guy knows about my server, and why he's connecting to it.
Is this some kind of weird way to advertise to people, or what?
just open the SMP auto cart folder then there is a file in it. Open minecraft_server.jar in winrar or something and copy that one file in there and thats it.
I'm sorry, I don't see that folder. Am I clicking on the right link? I'm trying to one that says Pressure Tracks Mod v1.7a.zip. and all I see is a Single Player Normal Version, Single Player Autocart version and then a Multiplayer Normal Version folder.
Just wanted to clarify because I went through the files earlier. Very sorry for all the confusion and trouble.
I see 3 directories, one says "Single Player Normal Version" another says "Single Player Autocart", and I see one that says "Multiplayer Normal Version". Is Normal version the booster system you mentioned before? Would this mean that Autocart Multiplayer is just not available?
I would love to have a simple autocart version on my server, if possible. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks again for all your hard work on this mod.

Here is a link to a setup
This setup used to work 100% of the time, not anymore unfortunately. Sometimes it works, most of the times it doesn't.

After installing it, we're suffering from some problems. We can connect for a few seconds before being booted and getting this error message:

Anybody have any ideas in solving this?

Yes, I know of it. But I wonder if there is one where the penalty of death wouldn't entail losing everything you're currently carrying?
It would be nice to give people the challenge with the penalty of death, but I think for some of the players, the penalty for death is way too steep.

Or at least as it runs with Hey0.
Any ideas or is it really an update problem?
