A pretty balanced suggestion. Some things are not listed, like heath. But it still isn't called "vague".

That's the fun of it. And if you have a night vision potion, you can tell it is. but being startled is the fun of it, besides they arent that strong. it isn't like it turns into a boss mob.

    Alright then.

But they only have a range of 50 meters and aren't very portable if you want a full beacon, which is why I think they are useless, since I certainly do not need them at my base, which I only spend a small amount of time at in any case; most of the time I spend playing is running around in caves underground, often covering hundreds of blocks in a few hours (in one of my worlds I've gone over 3,000 blocks away from my main base at spawn).

Full Protection IV diamond armor is much better anyway; I only have two pieces with Protection IV and Feather Falling IV boots and it has been over a year since I died. That's right - over an entire year, some 50 IRL days of continuous gameplay based on daily playtime - since I last died in less than maxed-out armor. No, I do not use potions (aside from Fire Resistance in the Nether in case I have an accident or want to kill blazes, and rare witch drops, which I often save instead) or golden apples (aside from a couple to cure zombie villagers) either since they are not needed; I do play on Normal but many mobs do not actually scale up much, and for the ones that do, creepers in particular, I can easily triple my armor protection, halving the damage after factoring in difficulty scaling, and even more for common mobs; for example, skeleton arrows deal 1-4 points on Normal (and Easy!) and 1-5 on Hard, a 25% increase at the most, so by this measure Hard would be even easier to survive.

Also, the only real difference between blocks and items is that items cannot be placed as blocks - all blocks have item forms, except technical blocks (e.g. prior to 1.8 you could obtain water blocks as items using mods like TMI; the item form of water and other blocks have since been removed). So it is correct to say that wood is the most useful item in the game.

Wood is a required item in order to advance, if we are removing items at all then I suppose wood is. I am talking about a pure power standpoint and beacons are by no means useless. Prot 4 is probably better, but beacons do give effects permanent in the area and even an effect unobtainable via potions [resistance].

That's what makes it unique. If it was just a crocodile, it would be boring. It's a camodile. It can camouflage.

A way to make the mob interesting is great, but being able to camouflage into passive mobs seems OP. Imagine wandering a swamp hunting pigs and all of the sudden you're poisoned and being attacked. If it partially camouflaged itself or had a distinct way to tell what it is that would be another story.

    No Support.

The dragon egg crafting recipe is impossible here [though in one of the comments you said you would change it to 12 frames]. But even then you would only be able to craft it once.

Minecarts, nether minecarts, horses, pigs, speed potions, anything of the such can speed it up.

Also, the block is indestructible, and this is frankly an issue. Nice idea though.

    Camels

I'm sure you are wondering, why would we ever need camels in minecraft? Well, because of the following points and ideas:

    1) Empty Deserts

Deserts feel a bit empty, don't they? There frankly isn't that many passive mobs in the vast biome, besides occasional villages. None of the passive mobs in minecraft seem to be well fit for this particular biome, and what better to add to a desert than a camel? The innovation to adding a camel in minecraft however, is not solely devoted to ambient, environmental variety however.

    2) Food Source

Getting food in a desert is by no means impossible. However, it is clearly much more of a challenge to gather grub in deserts than other biomes. Most other biomes have some kind of animal living in it, or at minimum grass to create farms. Deserts have villages [like other biomes], possibly temples [like jungles], and that seems to be it. Camels provide a relatively balanced way of obtaining food, as the options will not be nearly as numerable unlike other biomes, but are a last resort. There also can be incentive not to kill them. The food they drop: raw camel meat.

    3) Riding

This is probably the option you were expecting to be alone. The ability to ride camels will be an upside [though notably not the only reason to implement them], as it makes logistical sense. Camels are ridden in real life, after all. And this is not necessarily susceptible to gameplay > realism scenarios, since it would frankly be more fun to ride a camel then pen them up and kill them for meat and leather.

There should be a differentiation between horses and camels, however, since preventing camels from being seen as just a cheap way to add variety is essential to being able to make this suggestion hold any weight. I believe on average camels should be slower than horses and variants. I also believe that they should have the ability to carry chests like mules or donkeys. The difference, though, is that this mob should be able to carry a double chest worth of items. The reasoning behind this is camels are known for carrying things across long distances and such. The camel, however as previously said, will be relatively slow. Not horrible I can't move in this thing slow, but slower. Their movement speed is around the speed of a player. Also, the health of the mob is 20. Same as a cow.

    4) Leather Source

This in particular is more of an idea then reason to add camels, but the mob should drop leather. It is true that horses and cows already fulfill this, but it would make sense that camels would follow. Perhaps they instead drop camel leather, that acts exactly like rabbit hide.

    5) Breeding/Taming

Camels would be tamed exactly like horses. Simple as that. On the subject of breeding, you should use cactus, or perhaps cactus green to breed the camels.

Now, lets talk about why people may like this idea:

    1) Easier but balanced way of getting food in the desert.

    2) Great way to transport large amounts of items on long voyages.

    3) Adds depth to the desert biome.

    4) Gives another option for ridable mobs.

Let's also discuss potential downsides with the idea:

    1) Can be considered a copy of mules.

    2) Variety doesn't mean good.

    3) May be difficult to implement.

    4) We have enough food as it is.

    5) We have enough mobs as it is.

    Solutions to the downsides:

    1) Change the abilities between camels and mules, the capabilities [amount of storage] and attributes [speed, health, etc].

    2) Add more depth to camels, besides just another mob.

    3) This I cannot help. If it is fundamentally difficult to code in then that is a problem I cannot control.

    4) Remove food drops from the camel and only drop leather, though adding another type of meat is more of a convenient thing from the camel then effort to incorporate more food.

    5) Make the mob unique and interesting to help it stand out from this argument.

    Stats:

    1) 20 health

    2) Movespeed - 4.5 m/s [a bit faster than a player walking]

    3) Breeding - Cactus Green

    4) Chestspace: 2 double chests

    5) Mob loot - Raw Camel Meat - Leather [potentially camel leather that acts like rabbit hide]

    Comparison:

    1) Movespeed

    Camel: 4.5-8.5 meters per second

    Horses/Donkeys/Mules: 5-14 mps

    Player: 4.3 walk - 5.5 sprint

    2) Health

    Camel: 20-22 health points

    Horse/Mule/Donkey: 15-30 hp

    Player: 20 hp

    3) Breeding

    Camel: Cactus Green

    Horse/Mule/Donkey: Golden Carrot/Apple

    Notes and Misc:

Polls will show ideas I am on the fence about, as well as the Support poll.

posted a message on Banners and shields, what colors will you use?

I sell banners on a server I play on a ton, and have made thousands selling them. I'd make an option to "shieldify" the banners for an extra 50, and my own personal banner would probably be the Unicorn one. Or one other custom one I have.

    No support.

Firstly, if you have villagers you essentially have the ability to trade hoards of wheat, paper, coal, whatever, to powerful armor.

Also, emeralds are useful as it is in decoration and trading. You can get a nametag for 22 emeralds, saddles for 8, diamond tools and weaponry for around 20. I find emeralds useful as of now.

posted a message on Make Saddles a Crafted Item

What should I say that hasn't been tread on? I find that while it is partially inconvenient in some scenarios that you cannot craft said saddles [I have a hardcore world full of horses, and in a dungeon I found diamond horse armor and yet no saddle], if you play the game for a solid amount of time you will have more than enough saddles.

And as said above, setting up a villager breeding system is a very easy way to get infinite saddles, as leatherworkers can give this trade. My advice [what I did on a server], is fine a nearby zombie spawner. Kill all zombies except zombie villagers. Convert zombie villagers via weakness potion and golden apple. Use a minecart to rail the villagers up to a villager spawning area. Results. And if you are lucky you can even get a leatherworker via the zombie spawner.

Of course, if you find a dungeon then you most likely will find a saddle. EDIT: In other words, while I may find it convenient in some situations, I don't support.
