so with teh server ban thing just make it so it bans your ip not your name
Did you read any of the thread? I can change my dynamic IP within seconds by instructing my router to do so. Most DSL users also get a new IP on each connect (which is often). Or, I can use one of the MANY proxies out there to get a new IP address... not effective AT ALL for banning. -
Feb 13, 2013ozzymud posted a message on Change Your Minecraft Name? Possibly In The FutureIt is the actual the ops/admins i worry about... not all of em are nice people. I was recently reading a popular hacking forum and most of the names used for brute forcing are gathered from servers.Posted in: News
I would rather see a display name coupled with a unique id [098f2470-bae0-11cd-b579-08002b30bfeb]. The Unique Id is given from minecraft login servers and cannot be used in itself for login attempts but would be easily checked by white/blacklists.
People who use the same tag name could be given the choice at login to a server to change it. And people could also register a nick with a server like on IRC... give the server a password to prove that is your nick.
Logging in with nick Ozzymud..
Ozzymud is already in use assigning Guest10234, if the nick belongs to you /msg server Ozzymud <password>.
/msg server Ozzymud 3557et$%464
Verified! Returning your nick.
player.dat is still stored using the unque id, permissions and all that use the unique id.
UUID: There are 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,456 possible UUIDs -

The thing about your average wiki design (plain white background, black text, basically Wikipedia), is that it helps you focus on what you are reading, as the text has a good contrast. For forums the background is generally dark, which means it's easier to make out posts, as they are all individual (well, excluding double posts xD). The thing about a wiki with a dark background is that it doesn't seem formal. Well, I guess it's just one of those things.
Exactly... I am so glad Adblock exists, I was able to block the style sheet... back to a good old boring look so I can focus on the information.

So far ID's and treecapitator have been the only hassles... had to add id's to treecapitator's config, and used IDResolver_1.4.5_COREMOD_Update-0
for ID conflicts, it also has a nice ID report to txt file to get the IDs needed for treecapitator cfg.
Edit: have since added Twilight Forest, Forestry, and ExtraBiomesXL
Naa, he does not return if the player kills him, only if by mob or natural death(falling, lava, etc)... i left the chunk for days, waited there for days, deleted the chunk... if it was suggested on google, i tried it He was just plain gone.
Try ID Resolver, can be wierd on existing maps as it alters some ID's... but so far it has made ID resolving/conflicts just plain gone.

Started looking around in the save folder, found: .minecraft\saves\test\millenaire\buildings
in it is a bunch of gzip files named with what looked like coordinates... they were. I went to Sadhu's tree and noted the coords... -858_71_-135.gz
I extracted the file inside... it is NBT. I ran NBTExplorer-2 dropped the file on it and expanded:
buildings: 1 entry
80 entries
villagersrecords: 1 entry
vr_killed: 1 <----- changed this to 0 (zero) ... saved, put it back into the gzip file with 7-zip, loaded minecraft and BANG... there stood Sadhu.
Hope this helps someone else... it was frustrating to find as i had done everything "right" upto acidentally killing him... several villages built up pretty nice, nether all decked out, ender dragon slain and base created (slayed him JUST above the spawn pad), several floating ruins, battle towers, bandit outposts cleared... all without cheats.

I made a installer for it using Inno setup (http://www.jrsoftware.org/isinfo.php) and tested on XP.
Download the installer: http://www.wikiupload.com/WIPILWLX0GAAN1K
It should work on any windows 9x to Windows 8 as the cursors have kept the same location: %SYSTEM_ROOT%\Cursors
It has the OP as publisher and a link to this post. Has an uninstaller as well.
Install it. Now open Control Panel and double click on Mouse Properties. Click on the Pointers tab and choose the installed cursor pack from the dropdown list under ‘Scheme’. Select one and click Apply. Windows 7 and Vista users can type ‘mouse pointers’ in the search box to automatically open the Mouse pointers settings.
I also added a "Default" theme to the registry that is not uninstalled... It's titled "Default" and is whatever theme is default to the runing windows version. Saves having to click each cursor and choose "Use Default"

I have traded with the villagers to the point all now have several offers trying to get back on their good side and havn't slain anymore of em.
Don't look like i'm ever gonna be in good with the again
Will prolly just wipe them out (with cactus or lava or something), and import 2 more from the village 900 blocks away
Is there somewhere this is documented? or is it from the code? if from code... how much does it fall per punch, or per slain... and how much does it go up per trade?
I have killed by my hand like 50 villagers... and have traded over 100 times now... still angry golems
EDIT: i looked p villages.dat on the wiki... in it is my player name and a value, -16 ,,, used NBTExplorer-2 to cheat and set it to 16... problem gone and remember to only kill villagers with cactus, lava, drowning

I have been very cruel to villagers, killing off those who don't offer anything i need/want. I kill the golems for their iron... Now, evey time a new golem spawns, shortly after me hanging out near him, he attacks me. I know this was planned to happen...
I have since started trading heavily with the current villagers, not killing them any longer... but after the golem respawns... he is still angry. I have let them kill me over and over, left the chunk and lived in other villages for some time, no amount of niceness towards the villagers seems to stop this.
Am I missing something? Do i need to just trash the village and bring 2 more new villagers to start over?

Wow, that's a really wierd IP for a router... I normally only ee 192.168.0.1 or 192.169.1.1 (usually the latter)... wonder what other routers have wierd default IPs.
Edit: found a cool little list....
from: A List of Common Default Router IP Addresses

It really all depends on why you have a static IP. The easiest way if you do require a static IP is to use your routers settings to set up "Static DHCP", this will bind the MAC address of your machine to give it the same IP all the time while your OS can be set to obtain an IP automatically.
If nobody in your house knows a reason for you to have a static IP, there should be no danger of just allowing your OS to get a random dynamic IP, or just pick another within range. Say for instance yours is 192.168.1.200... if nobody in house knows a reason for static, either set to dynamic or pick another in the range of 192.168.1.2 thru 192.168.1.255 (192.168.1.1 should be your router).

Currently I'm only playing Morrowind/Oblvion/Fallout/Skyrim, Duke Nukem Forever, Empire Earth AOC, Angry Birds... none of which require DX10 or 11. Read some stuff that said Skyrim is actually more stable on DX9... dunno, ain't fired up the Windows 7 partition to try, works great under XP.
I ain't a fanboy of ANY one OS... I can within minutes fire up just about any OS ever made on one machine or another here... I use what gets the job done and feels the most comfortable. If I find something that doesn't work on my most comfortable OS (XP), I'll boot into 7, 8, Win98, DOS 6.22, Linux, OS/X, C64 Basic V2... whatever

I think the guys get bored doing what should be done (bugs/merge), and resonably take a break to add new things... so along with bug squishing from the merge, hopefully a mod API, I expect there will be a pile of new stuff in 1.4.
I mean look at all the new things in the snapshots for 1.3... I wouldn't want to have to code on the merge, that has to be a pain... but yet still lots of new "I'm bored fixing merge bugs... let's add ______, that will be fun!" stuff.
