If you would read his further posts, he is talking about the bug where water form a swamp does NOT blend with other minecraft water, and makes an ugly line in the middle of your biomes.

OMG! Such a show stopping bug! It totally breaks the game.

They are recipes to "food" that affect your character in more ways than just giving you health.

If I'm not mistaken, you could already make food from ingredients that would also help your character...

So yes, they belong because we've already had them.

Wait for the full release of 1.9. When their true sounds will be uploaded. I pray for pant-changing sounds. I really do.

You look at them, they stare back and emit a very angry "WTF DID YOU JUST DO!?!?!?!" breathing sound complete with a sped up heartbeat. Then when you look away, they should then emit a banshee like scream as they come after you.

I kinda wish they'd point at you as they freeze and look back at you.

To all the idiots who keep defending notch and jeb, one of these posters was very right. He said that there's horde's of you defending notch for work that has taken 3 months, but they would've been fired for if they worked at a company. It's not about quality either, it just doesn't take that long to work on what's been implemented.

Some indie developers have taken YEARS to develop their first game. Spy Party, which was demoed at Pax isn't due until 2014!

Lets talk about the idiots who think they are suddenly experts and project managers? If you dont like the work they are doing, stop supporting it and go away...seriously. Thats what "Most Customers" would do, right? :smile.gif:

posted a message on Gameplay design philosophy, why u no use it Notch?
I believe there are two tiers of Beta Testing. Its been shown that they have hired a small group to do beta testing beyond those who purchased early. I think the pre-releases were done begrudgingly when the early adopters pointed out that, "HEY! I thought we were the beta testers!" :wink.gif:

I think they probably have someone read the message board every day to separate the legitimate complaints to someone whining about how they don't like the hunger bar. Sure, if its really breaking the game, that's one thing. If it's just about someones taste or preference, then that's another.

The only people they probably listen to in regards to game play are their hired beta-testers.

I'd guess that the list-o-bugs thread are the ones they concentrate upon as that would be the most useful.

As for game philosophy...well, in order to innovate, you have to innovate and not go by the cookie cutter norm. This means NOT listening to a few people who disagree with what you've done. Whole genres were born from not doing what everyone else is doing...and I think this is one of them.

Why does Mojang insist on adding little details on to an unfinished product?

"Yeah Mojang! Finish the game first and THEN add features! Jeeze!"

I certainly would never buy anything the OP made, that's for sure.

"Why is that block shooting at me?" "Well, that block will turn into Master Chief after I release the game...we jut felt we shouldnt add any details until after the game was finished."

I set my bar very high for the Adventure Update and it didn't really live up to my expectations, on top of having a lot of content that could be improved upon in later updates.

The problem I see here is that they're trying to add too much stuff, without actually finishing it.

That's the problem. They couldn't give a crap about your high bar or your expectations. Who died and made you the queen of England?

posted a message on Give me one AMAZING reason why Hunger should NOT be toggable
Because food no longer gives you health. If they made it so you could turn hunger off, then they would have to make it so that food restores your health. Now suddenly they would have to turn off food stacking because the game would get extraordinarily easy if you could stack food. The the slope gets extremely slippery from there.

The point is, its not just about hunger being toggle-able...its about all the other stuff they would have to do to support that. Since the world does not revolve around you, it's nothing they have to worry about. :smile.gif:

posted a message on 1.9 Came out too early!
The sad thing is, the only way you could get 1.9 was to physically copy the JAR file over the one in the bin directory. So it's not like it could have even accidentally happened. Yet you fail to understand why MOJANG makes you have to put that effort into getting an unreleased copy of their development version. And you whine about how they released their development version too early.

I use INV edit whenever I begin a new map to give myself a small outfit of basic tools. I don't want to have to do the same crap over and over again whenever I begin a game. I just want to get right into mining and exploring caves.

What really pisses me off is they pick up PLAYER PLACED blocks as well. I've ventured out at dawn to find single pieces of my walls missing...

I could care less about world blocks, but player places ones should be off limits. Period.

    I kindof agree with nebux.

Does anyone have a URL where Notch/Jeb specifically say that Endermen aren't supposed to touch blocks placed by players?

posted a message on Official 1.8 Bug Thread!
Abandoned mines do not spawn correctly when it generates a new chunk.

    Version of Minecraft: 1.8.1

    SSP or SMP: Both

Can you repeat this bug: Yes

What issues does the bug Cause: Weird mineshafts with tons of what look like narrow supports, but have the boundary of the full-sized Abandoned mine support. Too many abandoned mine shafts are spawning in new chunks.

Specific conditions it occurs in if applicable: Go off the edge of the map you spawn in and let it create a chunk. Look at the caves underneath the new chunk.
