posted a message on Villagers dissapearing from farms!

Happens to me too and I haven't even bothered going to the nether. I just log off then comeback the next day to a practically empty fortified village. Gollums are vanishing as well.

posted a message on Villagers and golums disappear

New development. I went to my solo play world. Yesterday there were 2 gollums in the village when I logged off. Both had been recently created and had not been fighting anything. Log on today, no gollums. Gettng real tired of setting up the game, following the rules and having resources go away without game play. Yeah the iron is not real but I did spend my time putting the village together.

Is there anyone related to the game mechanics / developers here that can explain why assets disappear in an inactive world?

posted a message on Villagers and golums disappear

Hi, I have a realm that my grandson and I play on. I have been monitoring it a lot more frequently than he does as I am retired and he ins a working stiff now. I have been noticing that villagers and even golums disappear between game start ups.

Example. I was playing alone and had our walled protected village going nicely with about 15 villagers on last Tuesday. I logged out of the game during the day time. I loged back in on Weds to do some exploring and noticed when I started that there were only 3 villagers left, 2 unemployed and one farmer. The others were gone. There were no zombies inside, no rotten meat and no damage to the wall. The wall is made of stone bricks is at least 12 blocks high, 360 degree coverage and have doors controlled by switches. I went and did a big breeding operation and got back to a dozen villagers again but also made a golum before logging off. Came back Thursday and 3 villagers no gollum. Did a repeat of Weds actions and made 2 gollums. Had 15 villagers and played for several "game days" no attacks by monsters and no raids. Logged off again and came back today. No gollums and only 6 villagers. No one else is listed as able to play but my grandson and myself. He has not been on all week. I cannot figure out why villagers and gollums disappear when the realm is inactive.

Just noticed something else today. I had over 30 chickens in a pen with fencing all around. Logged on just now and there are only 11. No feathers, no "bodies", the gate is closed and no loose chickens inside the village.

posted a message on village popularity

I have not noticed any real change in "prices" other than when I defeat raiders going after the village. That got me a discount. Otherwise I bring multiple villagers to maxed out trading levels and the "prices" for trading remain the same. I also found that the traveling traders really don't have anything worthwhile to trade. I fail to see exactly what their benefit is.

posted a message on village popularity

Thanks for the info. I play on a PC using win 10. How can I determine what my popularity level is? I have seen the result of successfully defending a village from raiders but that only lasted a couple "days". Is there a way to see your popularity in the game / village?

Somewhat related question. Does your popularity in the village decline if you kill nitwits? I have a bucket load of them in the village taking up space. Secondly, how do you determine / see your popularity in bedrock / PC version?

My question is simple. How do you get a tamed riding horse to cross rivers. I like the idea of riding but the maps always have lots of rivers and small ponds to cross, not to mention swamps. What do you have to do to get the critter across them so you can keep riding and exploring?

posted a message on Saving your game data with a re install

Might be a dumb question but I had to delete then re install the game due to constant crashes in both realm and offline play. The realm was saved on the server so I still have that. The other 2 worlds I had in offline play were gone of course. My question is, should I have top do this again, is there a way to save the game data (my worlds) then put them back in the newly installed program?

posted a message on Game crashing

I have been playing for a bit. When my grandson and I got online last night my game kept crashing. locking up the screen and forcing me to Crtrl alt del to end freeze. Since it only happened on realm I thought the server might be overloaded. I went online today in the afternoon and as soon as I opened a chest froze again all within 1 minute of the game opening. There are no mads and I an runing the default survivor mode on my win 10 pc. My grandson also had his game stop and he was playing on a portable game platform. (I forget what it is)

Anyone have an idea of what is going on? It never happened before the last patch.

This only happens on realms not on my "offline worlds."

posted a message on PC version crash

Hi Playing on a PC with win 10. Lately after the last big update I have had several instances where the game crashes. I log in to the world and open a chest and the game freezes. Nothing works except to X out. I have one realm and 2 solo worlds. So far it seems to be worst on solo worlds. Anyone else get this issue.

posted a message on New sounds after last update

I play PC version (win 10) which I think is bedrock. I hear sounds above and below ground. More of them below. The European train whistle is pretty strange then there is the banging on empty steel drums / barrels sound as well. I really like the one that sounds like a jet aircraft flying by.

I am now asking if the post where I asked for developer response is considered "bumping" All I want is an answer to a question asked in good faith.

posted a message on Villager level actions.

Win 10 player. Might be a dumb question but, what happens to the villager that you max out in trading? I had 2 farmers, one I maxed out to lvl 5 through trading. The next "day" I still have 2 farmers but both are now lvl 1 novices. Do the villagers revert back after hitting lvl 5?

posted a message on Realm question

Thanks for the info. I had no idea that golems could be healed. How do you go about that? I never thought about locking villagers inside. Can you still trade with them that way? Also how are you going to get new villagers if they cannot meet up?

The fence idea is kind of nice but the zombies, creepers and skeletons are spawning INSIDE the walls that I built. I use dirt at first then stone for a three block high wall surrounding the village. At least those villages that are not built around canyons and with houses built on inverted pyramid like stone structures. I have tried making multiple veggie plots in open areas but the monsters still spawn inside the village. I have torches all along the wall and in places inside the village where I see any darker spots at night. I have seen some monsters like skeletons and creepers seemingly spawn on top of the wall. I usually build a high tower where I can over see the village and take out monsters with a bow. When I just sleep through the night I find zombies parked in front of villagers doors and they kill the villager when they open the door in the morning. It's getting real darn frustrating.
