I'm looking for channels, like myself, who create great content but just haven't made any traction. I'm looking for channels that post AT LEAST once a week MINIMUM. First step of success on YouTube (In lets plays) is to be active. It doesn't matter how great your content is, if you only post once a year, you're not going anywhere. Also, don't worry about your sub count when applying. I don't care how many subs you have, I'll let your channel/content speak for itself.
Most of the issues with YouTube is exposure, we don't collaborate with the right types of people. I've collaborated with a few YouTubers so far and it's been a crap shoot. I see it with other channels too. An extreme example(somewhat): One of the two YouTubers will make a great video with a great thumbnail and the other YouTuber will either post a lazy version or nothing at all. With the hopes that the other channel will bring in them subs while posting their own content thats of just them.
What I want to do, is collaborate with other channels who has the same level of commitment and quality standards. If we form a group and collaborate with each other, we will have no where but to go up. It's about everyone succeeding.
If you're curious, heres my channel: youtube.com/user/OldSchoolDudeGaming
Please either post below with whatever info you feel I should probably know and a link to your channel. You can get ahold of me quicker via my Twitter @OSD_Gaming
Thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this.
You should post a link to your channel first before anything else, just so everyone knows what kinds of content you make. The whole point of a collab is to find someone with similar tastes.
I'd just like to point out that Camtasia is just awful. I personally use OBS to record video(with the game's audio), audacity for my own voice, edit with Adobe Premiere Pro CC, and mix down my audio with Adobe Audition CC.
Other programs I suggest are:
Note: I don't add programs that I don't recommend as most suck and aren't worth the effort. I've been in the film industry since 2007 and have done it as a hobby since I was a kid. I don't say this to be cocky but to save you time and effort with programs that just honestly suck.
Screen Capturing program:
OBS (currently use)
Editing:
Adobe Premiere Pro CC (currently use)
Avid (I personally hate it but its what a portion of the film industry uses)
Final Cut (I used to use this but have moved on)
Sony Vegas (I used to use this but have moved on)
Special effects:
Adobe After Effects CS6 (currently use)
Hitfilm 3 (have used in the past and is nice)
Audio:
Audacity (currently use)
Adobe Audition CC (currently use)
Pro Tools 10 (amazing program that I use on projects outside of my gaming channel)
Art(Thumbnails/Logos):
Adobe Photoshop CS6 (for my thumbnails)
Adobe Illustrator CC (for my logos)
Cinema 4D (for my 3D minecraft images)
Inkscape (an alternative to Adobe Illustrator)
Gimp (an alternative to Adobe Photoshop)
I think I've added everything and will add more if it pops in my head later.
