I have a few picked out for the next update, you will have to wait and see
If you could, would it be too much to ask for you to put StormMister's Rediscovered mod into your queue? Its a mod adding content originally intended/included in minecraft that either never made the final cut or got removed in later versions (eg, it re-implemented sponges in 1.7 before they were re-added in 1.8). It includes also ruby ore/gems/blocks, so you can just copypasta the BOP ones
1.) Download this and run it, wait until installation is complete. (Make sure you've run regular Minecraft 1.7.10 at least once before doing this.)
2.) Type %appdata% in to the search bar in the Start menu and press enter.
3.) Click on the .minecraft folder.
4.) Create a folder within .minecraft and name it mods (no caps).
5.) Download any mod you'd like off of the forums, and place it into mods.
6.) Launch Minecraft, and there you go. The mod's installed.
EDIT: I should point out that, when you open your Minecraft launcher, a new Profile will have automatically been created called "Forge". You'll have to select that from the drop-down menu in your launcher in order to play the mod.
Also, install as many mods as you'd like into that mods folder! There isn't a guarantee that all mods will be compatible with eachother, but most will. Good luck!
A bit more specific; drop mods into .minecraft/mods/<version>/; this allows you to install mods for multiple versions of minecraft separately. So, for 1.7.10, you'd place mods into .minecraft/mods/1.7.10 (make the folder if it doesn't exist)
I am thinking of adding mod support! if you have a mod you would like to have let me know!!!
BiomesOPlenty, please. One of the mods that most affect the world of minecraft, in terms of new blocks and biomes.
Ah, nevermind. Just read a few pages back and saw that you are working on BOP already
this is good Microsoft will make changes to the Eula that are less strict
I'm sorry, what? Have you ever read an M$ EULA? Strict is their middle name. And the current EULA is not strict at all, except on those pay2win douche servers.
This is probably what is going to happen.
They will keep the current staff and add more members to take some of the pressure off of them. This may make for quicker updates, and having them be more stable. It may also mean they will be able to actually get out the mod API and optimize the game to make things like Optifine not necessary.
I'd like to see them hire LexManos (MinecraftForge developer), it would be good for his wallet and good for the mod api
I hope there will never be a Minecraft 2, because that would mean the end of the Java version of Minecraft, and modding would go with it.
But there's one thing they should do, they should crack down on all those who hide their mods behidn adf.ly links and should forbid the usage of such shady ad linking sites.
Congratulations, you're against supporting the main forge dev, who subsides entirely on the profits of those links. Modding would go with that.
I'm not sure about everyone else but I'd love to be able to use controllers for PC gaming (but it needs to be optional not forced). I have been begging Sony for a long time to release an official DS3 driver so gamers can use Sony Dual Shock controllers to play games on their PC without downloading shady 3rd party software. With the the correct combination of programs you can even play WOW with a controller.
You have a point though there's a lot wrong with Microsoft. Your reasons, my reasons, and reasons stated by many others leave a lot of uncertainty for the future. Still, as I said before all anyone can do it wait, Notch already sold and he did so in a hurry. He posted this 2 months ago and now Microsoft Owns Mojang. I believe after he posted that Microsoft contacted him about it and lead to where we are now.
Hmm. A bit off topic, but I had DS3 running with windows and linux via third party software, and it worked very well. And no, I don't mean motionjoy, that's a scum software if I ever did see one. However, I've recently traided in for a pair of DS4's that work far better on both systems
In addition to this, Mojang has made it clear that they and Microsoft have no plans of "stopping players from making cool stuff." If Microsoft was to do this, then it would have been in violation of the deal between Mojang and Microsoft in order to acquire Mojang and all of their titles.
The following is an excerpt from Mojang's website regarding the matter.
"Is the game going to change? Will we still be able to make videos, mods, awesome builds, and all the cool stuff we’ve created over the past few years?
Minecraft will continue to evolve, just like it has since the start of development. We don’t know specific plans for Minecraft’s future yet, but we do know that everyone involved wants the community to grow and become even more amazing than it’s ever been. Stopping players making cool stuff is not in anyone’s interests."
It's safe to say that modders and the community should be okay.
Forgive me if I don't trust M$, they've ruined great things before, so there is nothing to say they can't ruin this. I doubt it would be deliberate, however.
To be honest who would turn down 2.5 billion just for a game? :I
*Game company. Probably no one, but they would hopefully have the decency to not bull around and be real about it, because at that price it can't not be about the money.
Here's the thing. Mojang no longer exist, because Microsoft bought the whole company, not just Minecraft (This seems to be something that people don't understand and think that Microsoft has bought just Minecraft, when in reality they bought Mojang). The 3 founders of Mojang left (that being Notch, Jacob and another guy I forgot). Because of this transaction lots of modders expressed their feelings and stated they want nothing to do with M$ and stopped modding.
Microsoft did stupid things in the past and I doubt that they won't do it now either. You also seem to think that the current devs (Jeb, Dinnerbone etc) have something to say in this. No. Notch is no longer their boss, it's whoever pas put in charge at Microsoft. Which means if he wants something they do it. I doubt M$ learned from past experiences and will probably slowly ruin this game and its community. As you can already tell the community went ape **** when they even heard the rumor, before it was even known if it was true or not.
I can already tell you that the first moment they introduce something like stuff that you can buy with real money in-game or pay-to-win stuff people will stop playing Minecraft, because Notch understood that once you buy a game people own everything about it and updates should be free and so should DLCs. Something that big gaming industries nowadays don't understand and charge you a bunch of money for ****ty DLCs.
Actually I think that Mojang still exists under Microsoft, just Like Rare (bad example if we're expecting good things) still existed under Microsfotw.
No one sees what this is all really about do they? It's not about notch selling out, it's not about Minecraft, none of that. Microsoft just purchased the most successful cross platform game in history.. CROSS PLATFORM. That means, in order for Mojang to make it cross platform, they had to code each version, specifically for that platform. Which means, they had to learn how it runs. Minecraft is now owned by MS. MS just paid 2.5 billion to legally access trade secrets of their competitors platforms. All because the Windows Phone is failing. They bought mincraft to build a better phone os. To outdo competing consoles. To have their fingers in every piece of tech and tech company they possibly can, that would not sell their secrets or hand over their ideas. Good job guys, good job. You just became accessories to Legally Acceptable Corporate Espionage.
Absolutely not. Speaking on the PC version here: Its written in java, it is, by its very nature, naturally cross platform. Minecraft on windows, mac, and linux is all the same. Now, regarding Android, iOS, and console versions: yeah, they were coded uniquely
What makes this game better than Minecraft, other than it being developed by a different company?
How can you justify your attempt to damage this game by drawing people away from it when there are no signs of damage done to the game by the new company?
all good points, but I'd like to say its a bit harder for an opensource product to sell out, as one can simply fork it and continue. Very hard to `sell' public domain code. Personally I'm just waiting to see how M$ handles the modding community, if they screw us, I'm outies.

Bah. MCreator can only create cookie-cutter mods, and doesn't teach you anything in the process. May as well learn the right way from the start

Lol! I've never used a real mac (just a hackintosh), so I'm not too familliar with it
OT, your signature. Rediscovered mod brings those folks back
