noplaceinthisworld_ posted a message on I can ping my remote host minecraft server but I can't connect to it.

- I am running a minecraft server on a Centos7 virtual machine that runs on a different computer on our network.

- I can SSH onto the virtual machine and run the server, which all starts up fine.

- I can ping this server from my windows desktop PC, but when i try to connect i get this error message :

"io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection timed out: no firther information:"

- Can someone suggest why this is happening?
