Actually this game does get updated a lot. Even if League of Legends is updated more, Minecraft is still updated often. I don't see what point you are trying to make.

Maybe you could make the villagers add pathways built out of wood then it progresses to cobblestone, then it goes to the nice smooth stone. You could also make it so villages never stop growing. You could also make a port if the village is next to the water!
By the way, I LOVE this mod. It is so amazing. Never stop working on this man.. I'd probably even donate to you if I had the money because this is just amazing.
I was linked to this thread a while back, it is now locked, but it made a very good point. All of us have paid Notch 10 dollars (or 20 if you bought beta). I remember when I bought this game - October 28th 2010. It was a wonderful game, the snow maps, the regular. Good. On October 30th 2010 the Halloween update was released. That was epic. Little did I know, that would be the last major update.
I think the biome update was released a little while after that. That was also good.. but there was snow.. no.. it didnt' snow? How was there snow on the ground.. Why did he not add seasons to go along after that update, maybe a couple of weeks after that? I don't know.
That update was good and all, but it wasn't as big. Then no other updates really came after that-some SMP bug fixes but that's about it. Then, on December 21st 2010, (for me at least) beta was made. I thought something cool to go along with it. Was there? NO. Nothing. Zip. You can throw chicken eggs? Oh that's cool-but what's the real reason? To get money.
He got 20 U.S dollars ever since then. I may seem like a troll, but I'm not. I'm explaining the reasons most of you are oblivious too. The ONLY REASON I play this game is because of Mo' Creatures mod and the farm mod. Oh, Notch, you released fences? Cool, but where are the GATES?
Sooner or later this game will get boring. The last major update (in 2011) was the squids. That was BARELY major because they are of no use. They do not give food, only ink sacs. This is useless because you can find black sheep. This game is going to the gutter. If notch does not release another major update soon, and keep releasing updates, I will go away from this game.
There are many other bugs I can name currently, but I'm going to play Starcraft 2.
EDIT: I'll add more.
I have read the thing notch posted. You do not need to make the game more "stable" get a few of your employees to do this for you. YOU need to work on adding more content. The last MAJOR update was released on the last day OCTOBER (that's around 5 - 6 months ago.)

Oh my, I have just noticed he added weather! A wonderful surprise! Where are the weekly Friday updates? The weekly updates were more fun than waiting for a update that was long overdue. What about the glitches in SMP? It looks like you are falling out of the cart every 2 seconds.
Oh.. Wolves. That's intereesting.. slitely. The wolves look more like dogs. Why are they tame-able? Wolves are fierce animals.. not some pet that helps you. Of course.. this is just a game. It's not real life. But I would rename wolves to dogs, because they are so small. Also, why are there random pits of lava? (It's lava because oxygen has hit it.) I don't walk around and fall in a pit of lava. Notch, please, just please, give me something to smile at. Commentators like BPL and Slyfox are the inspiration I get to play minecraft for 1.. maybe 2 days. Then it gets boring, as usual.
