posted a message on Chicken Problems

Baby chickens seem to be the issue... They despawn if you're not nearby, and also the number seems to be limited to 5. I've gone through up to 9 stacks of eggs, and can't get more than 5 baby chickens. I've used both a dispenser, and manually throwing eggs.

Otherwise I've got my 5 egg laying chickens that haven't disappeared at all on me.

All this means, that I can't harvest more than 5 chickens at a time, and have to hang out at the chicken farm to do so. If it was just despawning, then at least I could sit around and wait for 20 some chickens to mature at a time. So now I'm just basically building a ridiculous supply of eggs.

Had a boat I'd left on the ground (not in water), after reloading the game when I jumped in it, it sank into the ground one block. So I had to get out and dig it back up.

Looks like it fixed the piston/dispenser/dropper placement, so you can place them face up easier.

So I decided to start building again on a new world (same seed), and it looks like those chunks might be resetting whenever I reload the world. I wasn't building in that area this time, but when I came back all the trees along the edge of the chunk were sheared flat. Since I'm assuming unlike terrain trees generate more randomly than just based on seed.

Here's the seed: 1342581765896990693 and its just at the base of the hill near the start area where I saw it. I didn't grab coordinates at the time, but I'll try and update with coordinates when I get a chance.

Either way, I'm done till next patch since I don't want to worry about sections of the world resetting randomly, and crashes just for wandering around.

My world is completely borked... It appears to have reset a few chunks of my world, resulting in erasing from existence 2 and a half of my buildings completely, (luckily) the half was my storage building, so I only lost half of all my gathered materials... In the distance I can see where some of my other players were building a town on a sky platform, but now its a sky donut with a hole in the middle of it. I say in the distance, because if I try to go out and inspect the damage, the game crashes every time before I get near it.

So I guess 3rd time is not the charm... Maybe I'll wait till round 4 to start all over again.

EDIT: If it matters, at least one of the chunks that reset was the starting chunk I believe...

Villagers don't seem to be doing as many trades before dropping an item on their list. Before I was getting a lot closer to the 12 max trades, now I can usually get 4-5 trades before they drop the item from their list.

I have a cobblestone generator that I have to leave disabled because it will crash pistons (shortened pulses, 3 pistons).

But my automated melon/pumpkin farm works without problem (4 pistons total). And my 3x5 portcullis on my castle doesn't seem to crash it (35 pistons).

So I don't know the exact nature of what it takes to crash it.

posted a message on Display Seed on Map
The Seed for the world should show up on the top or the bottom of the map when held (much like coordinates).

This way you don't have to reload the game to get the seed, which is needed for finding ideal locations for slime farms, or just wanting to have a similar world as you play with someone else online.

Zombies seem to be able to pick up things now. I have seen some with shovels.

They are much more devious than this... I had a zombie villager in my trap, and was prepping the area for moving him. He picked up the sand block I broke, then somehow slipped (glitched) between fence poles and got out of the trap... But he made the mistake of punching me causing the 4 dogs that were sitting nearby to come and tear him apart. Had to try again the next night to get zombie villagers.

posted a message on New World Mods should be always available to Host
Host options that adjust the world should always be available, not just for Host-Action enabled worlds. These are ones that have no more effect on the play experience than changing the difficulty does. Mostly they are things that don't make sense to disable achievements because of.

Disable Daylight Cycle - This allows you to play gradiants of difficulty, by locking the cycle on daytime it would prevent monsters above ground, but makes the underground still dangerous. Likewise you can play extreme difficulty and lock the cycle on night time.

Mob Griefing - Disable mob griefing, all the danger of having to fight the monsters without having to worry about creepers blowing up your buildings. That's the main reason I switch to peaceful, not because I'm worried about a skeleton or zombie killing me while I'm building, but because I'm working on a large project and don't want to have to start over because a creeper came along.

Basically world-wide options should be allowed, as long as they don't allow for shortcutting achievements like creative does by just spawning whatever block/item you need. Or create different play experiences for multiple players, like being able to teleport/go invisible/fly does for moderator options.

Mob placement on game loads. At first I thought my sheep were loading on top of the fences (which could be the case in some instances), but I've now found sheep in pens that were not connected to the pen they originated in, these are colored sheep in an enclosed barn so I know its not a matter of being a brand new sheep. I have 2 barns of sheep, but only one of the barns is frequented by these issues, I haven't had any trouble with the other, so it might be chunk related. But more annoying than that is I have a villager that is in an enclosed area with no exit, and some how when I load the game he'll load on the the other side of the counter.

This is a pain because then I have to chase him around to get him in a minecart and deliver him back to his shop. At least with the sheep they are in a barn that keeps them in the general vicinity.

-- Also another small bug, leads don't release from your hand when you tie to a fence. I'll tie the lead to a fence, and the fence shows the lead wrapped on it, but the animal is still connected to my hand by the lead.

By my understanding, you'll still have witches, just not the structure itself... So if you really want it, you can build your own witch hut if you can find the specific area a witch spawns :D

The hut itself is like a sub-biome of swamps that witches spawn in, maybe somebody else can provide more insight.
